A note on the photo, comic book fans know that the DC hero Black Canary is a metahuman known for her devastating Canary Cry.
This is a postmodernist take on the phrase: Canary in the coalmine. Meaning: When exposed to toxic gases, canaries suffer ill effects and die sooner than humans do. That’s why coalminers used to bring caged canaries into the mines with them. If the canaries became sick or died, this was a sign that something was seriously amiss and that the miners needed to get out.

We hear there are a couple of great Mexicans restaurants out there and one steak house that keeps changing hands with various levels of success.
To wit . . .
We want to advise our readers to be safe more than anything . . . However, more adventurous souls might want to see what this part of town has to offer given that they'll be out and about more than two weeks ahead of the rest of Kansas City.
Real talk . . . We hope everything goes well and they show us all the way toward a brave new post-pandemic world. But if anything goes wrong, we admire their bravery and service as the cowtown control group . . . Even better, suburbanites living in Clay County rarely visit the urban core BUT locals with cars are known to take day trips in that direction . . . So this really is a test case for inquiring minds.
Accordingly, we wish Clay County good luck.
And all of this has inspired our playlist for analysis by all of the scientists out there on the Internets this Saturday night . . .

ReplyDelete^^^ no they weren’t, the good people of clay are smart and will do the right thing in going about their daily business, it’s the blacks that won’t follow the rules. All you have to do is look at the map of kc and St. Louis to see where all the problems are and who’s causing it.
