Kansas City Increasingly Divided On Support For Mayor Quinton Lucas And Lockdown

At the outset of the pandemic Mayor Quinton Lucas earned universal praise for his decisive action to shut down local events and devise stay at home orders.

Looking at his recent updates, we notice a more "spirited" debate and more defense of his actions . . . Checkit:

"I did not, nor have I ever invited a reporter on a call. I’m pretty open as you see here and that’s not how I roll. I wish whoever had invited the New York Times would have told us.

"With that said, I stand by absolutely everything I had to say. Public health should guide us regionally."

Today's tweet

"We continue working hard today. I've appreciated the opportunity to have a number of one-on-one calls with officials in Clay, Platte, and Jackson Counties in Missouri and Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas. A great sign for metro-wide cooperation as we address Covid-19".

Here's a sample of the more powerful and coherent feedback he's getting:

"My husband and I appreciate everything you are doing Mayor Lucas. I am an older citizen with underlying conditions. I cannot afford to get COVID-19. I had to leave my grocery job which financially is really hard."

Negativity from the Northland:

"Wish you would mind your own business. I live in Clay County and had no vote in your election so why should you be able to tell me what to do? The numbers do not support us being prisoners in our own homes any longer."

Local support for precautions:

"We know you are doing your best with a tough situation. We all are. However, the data simply doesn’t support such draconian measures. Mask up and open up! It’s time to recover."

KC likes Cooperation In Theory:

"It’s good to hear that our local leaders are communicating with one another towards the benefit of all. Seems simple, but with other examples currently out there, it is SO appreciated!"

More pressure to reopen . . .

"You are not working hard if we aren’t seeing a plan to open. No reason this city should not be on a path to opening right now."

To it . . .

  1. The mayor is doing the right thing. KC is on the right track. It's the suburbs that are paying and going to pay a price for their lack of leadership.

To all you commie democrat traitors out there in your mental wards hiding in the shadows your time is going to come as it always does for all traitors it’s not a matter of if but when and it won’t be pretty. Hopefully akin to hanging Mussolini up by his feet except that would be to good for you fag democrat traitors

    2. He's babbling about something he knows nothing about - Yes, two County Commissioners and their little clique of accomplices have screwed things up temporarily, but in his ignorance he doesn't know that "White Clay County" is the location of the most diverse Elementary School and third most diverse High School in the State of Missouri.
Sort of invalidates any opinion he mumbles, right?

  14. "I did not, nor have I ever invited a reporter on a call. I’m pretty open as you see here and that’s not how I roll. I wish whoever had invited the New York Times would have told us. -- Quinton "Quagmire" Lucas

Remember that Lucas is an attorney, so while his personal denial is technically accurate, approving your Chief of Staff to link the NY Times reporter into the call without disclosing it in advance to participants is criminal.

Who else in the metro keeps the liberal NY Times on speed-dial, and has a history of constant communication with them? Quagmire and Stamm
