At the outset of the pandemic Mayor Quinton Lucas earned universal praise for his decisive action to shut down local events and devise stay at home orders.
Looking at his recent updates, we notice a more "spirited" debate and more defense of his actions . . . Checkit:
"I did not, nor have I ever invited a reporter on a call. I’m pretty open as you see here and that’s not how I roll. I wish whoever had invited the New York Times would have told us.
"With that said, I stand by absolutely everything I had to say. Public health should guide us regionally."
Today's tweet:
"We continue working hard today. I've appreciated the opportunity to have a number of one-on-one calls with officials in Clay, Platte, and Jackson Counties in Missouri and Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas. A great sign for metro-wide cooperation as we address Covid-19".
Here's a sample of the more powerful and coherent feedback he's getting:
"My husband and I appreciate everything you are doing Mayor Lucas. I am an older citizen with underlying conditions. I cannot afford to get COVID-19. I had to leave my grocery job which financially is really hard."
Negativity from the Northland:
"Wish you would mind your own business. I live in Clay County and had no vote in your election so why should you be able to tell me what to do? The numbers do not support us being prisoners in our own homes any longer."
Local support for precautions:
"We know you are doing your best with a tough situation. We all are. However, the data simply doesn’t support such draconian measures. Mask up and open up! It’s time to recover."
KC likes Cooperation In Theory:
"It’s good to hear that our local leaders are communicating with one another towards the benefit of all. Seems simple, but with other examples currently out there, it is SO appreciated!"
More pressure to reopen . . .
"You are not working hard if we aren’t seeing a plan to open. No reason this city should not be on a path to opening right now."
To it . . .
KANSAS CITY MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS CONFRONTS INCREASING PRESSURE TO REOPEN KANSAS CITY!!! WHAT SHOULD HE DO AND WHY?!?!
Posted here because more than a few of our readers have expert insight that resonates at City Hall. And this is one of the few community forums that allows locals to express opinions without suffering bulling and career payback.
Even better, reply and let us know what good suggestions stand out.
You decide . . .
The mayor is doing the right thing. KC is on the right track. It's the suburbs that are paying and going to pay a price for their lack of leadership.
ReplyDeleteI support the Mayor. Quinton Lucas is doing a much better job than any other leader in the metro area. And he's sharing more information than anyone else.
DeleteAnother social media mayor is now what KC needs.
DeleteBut the basement is wet, I want my mom's house all to myself!
DeleteGun collection getting rusty, ready to drive downtown and shoot so I dont have to do mom myself.
DeleteReally like that comment from Clay County.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely nailed it.
If Quinton was really leading then he wouldn't be helping to break the city's budget.
DeleteThink about it!
When dooz the MF'in Welfare check comes in ?
ReplyDelete"Posted here because more than a few of our readers have expert insight that resonates at City Hall."
ReplyDeleteSorry but zero is not "more than a few."
Yet you're here an responded within 10 minutes of this post published. Don't complain too much about the farts you're sniffing gopher boy!
DeleteAnd you respond in two minutes 8:06? I'm impressed. Speaking of fart sniffing, your nose must be straight up Tony's ass.
DeleteI only read TKC for the TITAYS!
ReplyDeleteFor those you do not have to read.
DeleteQuinton must stay the course and ignore those Republicans from Clay County who only want to reinforce the actions of trump and put everyone at risk.
ReplyDeleteHe’s just another democrat fag trying to act tough for his traitor democrat handlers proving how much misery he can create with the swipe of a pen. To all you commie democrat traitors out there in your mental wards hiding in the shadows your time is going to come as it always does for all traitors it’s not a matter of if but when and it won’t be pretty. Hopefully akin to hanging Mussolini up by his feet except that would be to good for you fag democrat traitors
ReplyDeleteFound another Nazi terrorist.
DeleteTsk as if calling someone a nazi is supposed to be taken as a slur.
DeleteScrew your old nasty grandma what about my 401k?
ReplyDeleteWall Street thanks you or your 401k, it was delicious.
DeleteLucas is just stalling to blame his shutdown for the coming KC budget collapse from spending on convention centers, convention hotels, stadiums, entertainment districts.
ReplyDeleteDo you even consider that Platte County has few cases yet businesses are dying all around. Keep Jackson county closed if you must but let the rest of us go back to work!
ReplyDeleteWhys comes thes 500 peeples in menards and eyes cants goes to church
ReplyDeleteThe most important mullet question of the day!
DeleteAlso went to Menards today, packed. But Suburban lawn and garden was beyond packed. Never seen it so crowded. Maybe the pastor should just preach there. Grandma didn't ban preaching while buying plants. Must be safe.
DeleteI support re-opening any county other than Jackson county, my only fear is every knucklehead from the hood will run right up to clay and cause problems.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry. I have lived South of the river my whole life and there hasn't been a race war yet. And most of us down here don't care about you cow tippers anyway.
DeleteAs if White Clay Co needs help fucking up. Haven't you been reading famous news blog TKC, ya pathetic cracker?
ReplyDelete^^^ Whatchu talkin bout boy?
DeleteHe's babbling about something he knows nothing about - Yes, two County Commissioners and their little clique of accomplices have screwed things up temporarily, but in his ignorance he doesn't know that "White Clay County" is the location of the most diverse Elementary School and third most diverse High School in the State of Missouri.
DeleteSort of invalidates any opinion he mumbles, right?
Sounds like white people shi@ to me. "I have a black friend I can't be easiest."
Delete"I did not, nor have I ever invited a reporter on a call. I’m pretty open as you see here and that’s not how I roll. I wish whoever had invited the New York Times would have told us. -- Quinton "Quagmire" Lucas
ReplyDeleteRemember that Lucas is an attorney, so while his personal denial is technically accurate, approving your Chief of Staff to link the NY Times reporter into the call without disclosing it in advance to participants is criminal.
Who else in the metro keeps the liberal NY Times on speed-dial, and has a history of constant communication with them? Quagmire and Stamm
My sincere thanks to -- Anonymous 4/25/20, 11:26 PM. ... (Quinton "Quagmire" Lucas) is a Mayoral Description that should be included in a totally disgusting chapter of Killa City, Misery History.
ReplyDeleteTHE RECKONING BY midweek America will have to face ONE MILLION INFECTED ,and 100,000 deceased.
