UMKC combats declining enrollment

UMKC is trying new tactics to combat its declining enrollment numbers. The university's enrollment dropped 1.8% last semester compared to fall 2015, according to figures from UMKC's data and records website. College enrollment is also down across the nation. According to the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, national enrollment is down 1.3%.

  9. The enrollment goals have always been a sham. UMKC has always been a "want-a-be" institution believing that big is always better. Instead they have repeatedly had embarrassing scandals... from fake accreditation awards to the latest housing embarrassments. Seems to be a systemic leadership issue at several key levels. Quality is not about enrollment numbers, but a quality reputation for high academic and management standards.

  10. Classes there are very lopsided. You have a brilliant student on scholarship next to a GED on scholarship. Teacher can only go as fast as the slowest student, cannot leave anyone out. Total BS.
