The Pitch Shares High Praise For KC Tenants

Right now we share this flashback to the former glory days of print media as The Pitch publishes an old-school-style glossy magazine tribute to an activist group that might or might not get the cash to back up and provide enforcement for a recent legislative win.

Still, in this 1,500 word love letter there's only one halfway critical passage reminding us that most of these "new rules" are already on the books and the win was mostly virtue signaling and protest practice for the 2020 election season.

Checkit:

With the passage of its tenants bill of rights, the activist group KC Tenants has scored a historic win for renters in the city

"Their approach is a throwback to how democracy is supposed to work," says Third District Councilman Brandon Ellington. // Photo by Chase Castor Tiana Caldwell had never been involved in civil activism of any kind until a little over a year ago. The 42-year-old had more pressing concerns.

  2. Well just wait until this women has a criminal for a neighbor. And I also think this story about her is stretched a little. Did she think to get social services involved to help her? There is all kinds of help out there so I really don't believe this story. This whole tenants bill of rights went a little to far.

  20. Mayor Selfie continues to talk up the a $50 million housing trust; a trust with $0. The City of Kansas City MO cannot fulfill the most basic requirements of a municipal government and he continues to talk up the a $50 million housing trust. What happens when the state eliminates the earnings tax and those not living in KCMO stop paying the earnings tax?

These useless gibme protesters haven't got a dime between them, so somebody with DEEP POCKETS is always ready with professionally done signs that look good on camera......Remember when a protest sign was white art board on a stick with shoe polish?
