Impeachment Motives

Founders: Removal from office is not the only purpose of impeachment

As Congress considers formal charges of impeachment against President Donald Trump, they should consider words spoken at the Constitutional Convention, when the Founders explained that impeachment was intended to have many important purposes, not just removing a president from office. A critical debate took place on July 20, 1787, which resulted in adding the impeachment [...]

  7. This solemn holiday may be the Democrat Party’s last chance to avoid suicide. They need to have a conversation with someone on the cosmic hotline, come to the realization that they’ve truly hit bottom now and must, as Rep Devin Nunes suggested Sunday to his colleague Adam Schiff, sign into rehab.

Kansas City is a democRAT ran town. Just take one hrad look around you and you'll see why that clown show has to end. It's the same clown show in Washington that is trying to unseat the current President.

Now do you see why the democRATS are so bad to have in office?

    ReplyDelete
  15. It will go down in history more as an illustration of partisan division than any reflection on Trump. After all, the IG report is so damning about the weaponized anti-Trump FBI that wide reform will be have to be implemented. The FISA court itself has issued very damning, very true statements about the illegal conduct of the personnel involved. It's directly relevant to the joke impeachment because Adam Schiff, John Brennan, and others are now clearly seen to have lied about nearly everything. It's going to be the impeachment with an asterisk, and will soon be followed by criminal indictments for many in that same weaponized FBI. People actually charged with crimes and going to jail will end up being a much bigger story when Durham's investigation is done.

Pelosi bet and bet big that the impeachment 'story' would have legs. She tried to unify her disintegrating party by doubling and tripling down on what the wokesters insisted on. Now after this impotent impeachment circus, there will be a very high price to pay for Dems who supported it come November.

  17. “The main thing that has held America together for so long in the past was common Ideals. Equality and opportunity. Democratic government. The Constitution. Without them, America is just another multiethnic Empire, just a bunch of tribes. In the past decades, economic chaos and income inequality have created scarcity and hardship. For many, America has stopped delivering on its Ideals. Instead of solving these problems, we have retreated into tribalism.

Fed by alternate news sources, we end up living in divergent realities and different stories, with competing ideas of what America is about. Trump’s election is a symptom, not the disease. At least two Americas exist, maybe more. Maybe many more. This conflict may end, but we may never come together again unless we rediscover those unifying ideas of what America is. “

    (Our War, Craig di Louie)

Tribalism is more and more evident every day.
The outcome of this Election will be decided along purely tribal lines, and so far nobody shows any ability to restore America.

  19. Forget impeachment its a waste of time. The citizens of the USA should make a list of "to do" items for each President (and congress) they MUST fix during their terms. A list of our choice. Example : fix social security, bring down college costs, stop fighting other countries wars for them, disband NASA, fix medical insurance costs, build 100 more prisons and throw away the keys on offenders, stop school bullys by placing them in juvenile prisons, disallow the religious exemption for the abusive catholic church - rule it a sex cult, develop a universal flu vaccine before 1/3 of the USA is wiped out by a new superflu.

The Islamists who are little boy rapers, wife beaters, little girl clit clippers, homo homiciders, Jews and Christians killers are more numerous! Many decades of witnesses to these muslim evils--victims, refugees, noble missionaries, good military personnel, and EVEN, confessed PERPS--but, the IDJIT HATERS PUT EXCESS FUBAR FOCUS ON THE CATHOLIC CHURCHES!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. @11:34 He will be Impeached, that's the equivalent of having "chargesfiled", but the GOP Senate Trial won't allow him to be convicted and removed.
And that's EXACTLY what the Democrats want!

That puts the stain and stench that Trump has generated on EVERY REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE for any elective Office next November.

Project Redmap may yet be able to barely squeak out another win for the Presidency, but that will leave Trump facing four years of a Democratically controlled Congress (both Houses), massive redistricting at State levels, and a Presidency rivaling that of Chester A. Arthur for ineffectiveness.

  26. People, as a rule, have no concept of the realities of human nature/perception. They usually view things only through their own prism, and are angry when the rest of the world disagrees with their take.

The reality is this. The impeachment of Trump has been tainted by the revelations of the FBI's abuse of power with the FISA warrants. Like it or not (and this is the Democrats' fault, as they've linked the two things together for easier public consumption) people view the Mueller Report and impeachment as two sides of the same coin. Bad news for the Dems, as The FBI, and the report have been heavily discredited by both the IG and the FISA court. Shit will really hit the fan if the Durham Report is as bad as it sounds like it might be.

Only the left (and that includes the media) views impeachment as fully legit. The right sure as hell doesn't, and neither do a growing majority of independents. Those two groups will go for Trump in 2020 . . . largely because the Dems have painted themselves as surveillance freaks/1984-style authoritarians.

The Dems didn't learn how much they were hurt by their own hysterics during the Kavanaugh hearings. They're doing the same thing right now.

They also haven't learned that Trump is much better at branding (and trolling) than they are.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department announced a crackdown Wednesday aimed at driving down violent crime in seven of the nation’s most violent cities.

Attorney General William Barr announced the initiative known as Operation Relentless Pursuit at a news conference in Detroit, Michigan, alongside the leaders of the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the U.S. Marshals Service.

As part of the initiative, the Justice Department will intensify federal law enforcement resources in the seven cities — Detroit, Albuquerque, Baltimore, Cleveland, Kansas City, Memphis and Milwaukee — which have violent crime rates high above the national average.

I know you dumbass dimwits want hilly to run again but with slick willy’s reputation tarnished so badly does that mean hilly won’t get your vote? I know you can’t honestly vote for her and allow billy back into the White House because you all have such high standards and all right?

  40. Any aid the US gives any country ALWAYS comes with strings attached.
    We want Democracy.
    We need help fighting Communism.
We need help fighting Al- qida
We need help putting middles next to enemies
We need help fighting a corrupt VP Biden or his son

    Nothing new here.

When will the fucking media do their job and investigate Hunter Biden and how a non-native-speaking ex-druggie could land a $50,000 a month job while their daddy was a VP ?

There is the foreign influence! And the fucking media helps out our enemies by giving them comfort and won’t investigate but instead sides with liberals... who threaten the US with false liberal talking points against a duly elected US president.

When will Adam Schiff be ID’d as an enemy of the president?

    ReplyDelete
  41. ^^^Hahahahahaha - let me fix that last one for you "We need help in our election so I need you to just announce you're going to investigate Biden and his son, and then, just don't do it. The shit will be smeared. Can you do me that favor? Then I'll release your funds"

Some months later "Shit, the Post got a hold of the whistleblower story? Give Ukraine the funds so it doesn't look too bad."

Some weeks later "They got their funds, nothing to see here."

  43. Months of commenting here are proven wrong yet again.

Dems are too scared to hold a House vote. They refuse to call a full House vote. They don't have the votes to pass it. Wrong, wrong, and wrong.

    Impeachment has come to pass.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I wish impeachment actually overturned an election and negated 63 million votes.

That would mean Hillary could be put in the White House now. Trump's executive orders would be immediately reversed. Trump's cronies would be kicked out of cabinet positions. All the judges appointed over the last 3 years would be swept out as invalid for new Clinton judges.

Oh, it doesn't work that way? Pence would be president and continue Trump's agenda? I guess impeachment isn't about overturning an election.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Sorry, winning 30 states doesn't put a president above the law. An electoral victory isn't a licence to commit crimes. Nixon won 49 of 50 states but still resigned in the face of impeachment.

A winning economy isn't immunity from impeachment. Clinton in the 1990s had the best job market in decades, set stock market records, and was balancing the federal budget. That didn't stop his impeachment.

Stick to the facts. Trump abused his power for personal gain and obstructed congress by ignoring subpoenas for witnesses and documents. Trump has earned his impeachment on the merits.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @4:55 - if you feel that strongly about it, then just don't vote for Hunter Biden for President in 2020!
Glad I could help you with your problem.

    ReplyDelete
  49. 7:08, how naive of him. Everybody knows to get dirt on a political opponent from foreign sources, you hire a silk stocking law firm who hires a strategic intelligence firm who hires a former spy who pays foreign sources for that information. When you do it that way and it later unravels, you get to say "You mean like with a cloth?"

  51. Trump didn't have the biggest crowd size for his inauguration, but he does have the biggest impeachment ever. Even more votes than Clinton!

How will he build on it? Maybe longest trial? I'm betting on getting impeached twice.

To quote Trump's brilliant foreign policy doctrine, "who knows" and "we'll see what happens".
