KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Fire Department put out a fire at a trailer overnight. Firefighters were called to 11908 N. Illinois Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Firefighters on scene say the fire was contained to the front of the house. It was extinguished quickly.

It happened around 7 p.m. at the Westport Central apartments on Armour Blvd. Shattered glass still lines the street and sidewalks, blown out from 9th story windows where the fire started.

TOPEKA, KS (AP) - Kansas is allowing some residents seeking to get or renew a driver's license to schedule appointments so that they can avoid a tedious wait in line. The Division of Vehicles in the Kansas Department of Revenue recently expanded the program to an additional nine offices in populous areas after launching a pilot program in Topeka in August.
