TKC MUST SEE!!! CONGRESSMAN CLEAVER CONDEMNS KANSAS CITY 'SAVE THE PASEO' PROTESTERS: EVEN THE KLAN NEVER MARCHED INTO A CHURCH!!!

Congressman Cleaver shared a national Sunday talk show revelation targeting Kansas City petitioners and protesters which escalates the contentious discussion regarding the fate of The Paseo to its greatest intensity so far.

To wit . . .

CONGRESSMAN CLEAVER UNFAVORABLY COMPARED SAVE THE PASEO PROTESTERS TO THE KLAN IN A SHOCKING INTERVIEW WITH REV. AL SHARPTON ON MSNBC!!!

We've transcribed the highlight of the conversation:

Rev. Al Sharpton: "We're dealing with such racial polarization nationally. I don't think it was even imagined by most that a city would vote to remove the name of Martin Luther King on a street that was voted on and put there and now all of a sudden removed. And at one point I believe the people who wanted his name removed actually came into a Black church where you were present and had a silent protest about this."

Congressman Cleaver: "Well, it was awful Reverend. And as you and I both know as clergymen . . . In the Black experience. That doesn't happen. Even the Klan never marched into a church . . . Where SCLC was holding a rally and probably with the National Action Network. It just doesn't happen. I was there at the church when that happened and stood up and just said, 'Hey, I know some of you probably don't understand church and so forth. But you don't do this in a church."

Take a look at the exchange from the cable news network . . .

MSNBC: Voters in Kansas City, Missouri overwhelmingly approved removing Martin Luther King’s name from one for the city’s most historic boulevards.

First and foremost, let's not forget that our blog community put this topic of alleged church sacrilege on blast before ANY OTHER media outlet.

TKC Takeaways as we politely ignore Rev. Sharpton struggling with pronunciation of this famous Kansas City street . . .

The Congressman decimates the Save The Paseo movement and protesters who don't have access to national talk shows in order to respond. We warned about the push back from this vote and the political ramifications that are now JUST GETTING STARTED. A member of Congress denouncing 'Save The Paseo' petitioners and comparing them to the Klan is an unparalleled power move that takes the group out of the political mainstream, destroys their ability or organize in the future and basically sends them back to their quiet lives of middle-class desperation.

Congressman Cleaver also mentions ballot confusion and challenges the legitimacy of votes that might have affirmed the MLK BLVD name IF the language of the election question was clearer.

Finally, the longtime Kansas City elected official seems to believe that it's possible for the council to once again affirm the MLK Blvd name by a vote at City Hall rather than a ballot question. He cites precedent wherein street naming was NEVER subject to a citywide election until now.

Accordingly, the highest ranking elected official in Kansas City has thrown down the gauntlet to supporters of the Save The Paseo movement who have been chest-thumping on morning local morning talk shows but now confront nationwide rebuke and the threat of Democratic Party resources focused on defending MLK Blvd over The Paseo yet again.

  1. TKC, you must be responsible here.

There are many people who might have their head explode if they watch Rev. Sharpton and Congressman Cleaver together in a single clip.

A warning would have been appropriate.

    2. I think it could be time to ask Sen. Hawley to speak about this issue. Certainly he can take second away from his conversations about China and Facebook to address the biggest city in his state. That's the only place Save the Paseo can go for balance and to make sure they don't go down in history as klansmen. Just trying to help!

  3. What a lot of people don't understand is that they might not like the congressman, might not even vote for him but having an official in DC compare you to the klan is a very big deal not because it will impact the petitioners personally BUT because all of the other elected officials who confer with the Congressman will treat them accordingly. If Save the Paseo are really the klan then they're untouchable, they aren't worth talking to and they're dangerous - That's the narrative now. Even if the petitioners really were more concerned about city hall process.

Good thing nobody ever listens to a damn thing he says, otherwise there would be mass exodus of African Americans moving out of KC.

  6. So he’s calling all the black save the Paseo people kkk members too? I’m tired of the cleave and his stupid comments and remarks, why is he willing to throw his own people and city under the bus, because his people voted this down three times. He’s a petulant little bitch and clearly he’s losing his mind, this should finish him off from evar getting elected again.

  7. Al Sharpton is a religious "Reverend" in the same way, that Nicolas Maduro is a Democratically elected politician.

Sharpton is a lying, race baiting, bottom dwelling, activist who got people killed in Crown Heights and did his very best to incarcerate innocent white people and divide the country during the Tawana Brawley HOAX.

He has less credibility than Adam "Baghdad Bob" Schiff, which is fuckin ZERO.

The phony, lying Progressive, narrative engineers, who are pretending that black people ALL wanted the name to change from the Paseo, to Martin Luther King parkway, are lying, as usual. Black people did NOT vote in a unified black block vote on this issue.

Martin Luther King, like Harvey Weinstein and Jeffery Epstein, was a Communist, philandering rapist and naming a street after him, would be stupid and insulting to all those Grrrrrl power, Metoo# activists.

  8. The save the Paseo group did nothing wrong, all they did was show up for a meeting that was open to the public, just because it was in a church doesn’t mean a damn thing. By showing up and recording it, it only proved the mlk crowd wasn’t willing to discuss anything except getting their way. The preachers and cleaver only proved what kind of thugs they really are. I’m tired of this same little group of people pushing and demanding they get their way or else, the save the Paseo people got their victory without threatening anyone, good for them and kc, time to take our city back from these ruthless animals.

  12. More race baiting between and among the senile old Black Rev Congressman and Al Charlatan. He couldn’t go on any other show and say such a thing. Cleaver knows who he can do this type of thing with and they represent the same class of people - Democrats who’s only argument has been making people feel bad for making good decisions in favor of the people. I don’t know anything about the standoff that happened at the church - but I do know if these two people are discussing it and injecting race and hate speech (as all Black churches do), then the conversation was likely one-sided and half-true.

Real Black people have left the church because they know what bullshit is had there. If you want to be treated bad... people recognize that they can just stay home for that. The backbiting, constant fighting, shootings, murderous as religious leaders, collections that never seem to be directed to the actual need... the Black church is a racket. Most of the Black clergy are self-ordained. No education of any kind.

Still can’t get over him throwing the entire city under the bus because the poor baby didn’t get his way, damn, that’s cray cray.

  20. First, I encourage everybody on this thread to watch the video clip. Second, Al Sharpton states “this issue to change the name to MLK was voted on by the people”. This is patently false and Congressman Cleaver does correct him on this misstatement. This perpetuates the inclination that this is a race issue. Then, Al Sharpton says “a mostly White group stormed into the church” and that is patently false. The photo of the group in the church showed that there were Black people moderately mixed.

Then, Congressman Cleaver says his experience is that the City Council alone makes the decision to rename a street and it’s done. That is also patently false - and he re-inforces this idea by saying he was Mayor of Kansas City for 8 years.

Boy oh boy - I have never seen Cleaver do so much lying on a public broadcast. This is telling. He might actually lose re-election next year with this activity.

We should call it the downfall of Congressman Cleaver. It’s past time fo vote his ass out!

  30. “I was Mayor of Kansas City for 8 years”. - Congressman Cleaver

Yes, but at no time where you a representative of the State of Missouri. Missouri law trumps local law and guidelines. The City cannot arbitrarily rename streets; and the state says so. Every action taken by a municipality of this State must comply with State law. It’s rules cannot be enlarged over and above state law or the constitution of this State.

At the end of the interview, he says he’s working to make it so the City Council has the sole right to change the name of a street. Good luck. That will be career ending for whatever politician decides to override the will of the people. Maybe Cleaver forgot that he’s Congressman because of the vote of the people. He was very careful to say that it was not race - although race is intertwined to everything in America.

This is a fight he should just let go. Simple. The people have spoken.

  38. How do they fit so much criminality into that little frame? Cleaver, the noted local grifter clown, and Sharpton, who has demonstrated in his loathsome and parasitic career that where there is no race controversy he's more than happy to manufacture one.

Both Reverends of course, because black politicians know that if you want respect but don't feel like earning it, capitalizing on the superstition of your people in the name of the white man's God works very well.

Both Democrats of course, because if you want to keep black people backward and dependent, keep the free shit coming!

  40. @ 744, I heard last Wednesday that in the six of the eleven predominately black precincts the Save The Paseo passed with a tremendous percent. IN all eleven the percentage was over 50%. It is not a racist thing. The voters in KCMO did not disrespect Dr. King and his legacy they threw shade on the city councils decision.

Since Cleaver said what he did about the people of Kansas City I propose we remove Clevers name from any roads or public buildings it might be on and replace it with Martin Luther King's name immediately.

Cleaver forfeit his right for his name to be placed on anything public owned and supported by tax dollars in this town.

I also think Cleaver should resign from office effective immediately and be barred from any political office in either Kansas City or the state of Missouri.

There were Senators who were voted in by racist in Texas, Arkansas, Georgia and Louisiana that provided the foothold for the Civil Rights Movement. Cleaver may be a banker, Cleaver may be a preacher but Cleaver never earned a legacy that a street would be named after himself first. Anyone with an IQ above that of retarded earthworms don't take these nimrods seriousely. You don't take a part of the cities history behind closed doors and rename it. There's no logic or correctness in that. The people, without a racist agenda, stood up for the right cause, and got things reversed back to where they legitimately should be.

  94. Just wandering what nimrod is big on the captha scenario on this blogsite. You spend half you're fucking time navigating through this maize of picking out how many palm trees are in or not in a square, that half the time can't be delineated with jeweler glasses, before you're able to post a comment. This blog ain't that compelling, as you're loosing interest before you get done; and you realize why you've been gone so long.

F..k them two ignorant talking heads.
Lead paint chips are a son of bitch! It shows in their inability to form a cognitive thought and put together a cohesive sentence. However they are good at half truths that spin their narratives for the gullible.

  96. Lead paint chips would explain this lie-ridden confused jumble of an interview. Why didn't we get a sound bite from the Dr.Rev.Vernon Howard too? Maybe he could explain the illegal election signs that popped up right before the election. I hope he gets fined for that little stunt. Sour grapes for all the fake reverends.
