TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY CONSULTANT: MLK RACISM ALLEGATION DRAWS LINE IN THE SAND FOR VOTERS!!!

We're days away from a debate to settle an issue that has sparked urban core discourse for more than tow years as some local activists want to uphold a rewrite of the landscape of Kansas City and others want to defend history.

About a week ago in an interview with Fox4 morning anchor Mark Alford, the most important remark of the debate was FINALLY spoken aloud.

And so we talked to a Kansas City political consultant who is too timid to share much data, basically thinks the vote is a statistical tie but offers this insight . . .

ALLEGATIONS OF RACISM AGAINST 'SAVE THE PASEO' SUPPORTERS WILL DETERMINE THE ELECTION OUTCOME!!!

Check the quote in a message sent our way . . .

"More than any other remark, the declaration that supporting the "Save The Paseo" was an indication of racism and "white privilege" resonated among potential voters. A small sample of polling of likely voters found that those who agreed with this statement were more likely to vote in the election. Meanwhile, the same question posed to those who strongly DISAGREE with the statement said that the remarks would ALSO encourage them to a vote. REMEMBER THAT IN A LOW TURNOUT ELECTION THE SIDE THAT CREATEs MORE EXCITEMENT AND RESPONSE FROM VOTERS ALMOST ALWAYS WINS."

And so, as always, the sordid question of alleged racism and culture war informs another vote about a stretch of road that extends into neighborhoods enjoying a revival and a diverse new gentry of residents vs. other parts of the street which continue to suffer poverty and extreme urban core creme.

  1. Vote your interest. Black or white it's Paseo to keep a small group of revs from controlling more of the city in order to preserve their donations.

    1. Glad that somebody else is calling out Quinton. I guess the newspaper told him to shut up and give him their "Exclusive" quote for Sunday so they can try to sell a few more papers. No dice here.

    2. This blog mentioned it, everybody else forgot it unfortunately. KC should vote against just to get out of paying the MLK family $300,000 a year.

  2. And a "Yes" vote will send a message to the Criminal Council that the KC Residents won't put up with their horseshit like extending the Streetcar without a citywide vote any longer.

Sad that the Fake Fat Revs/progressives yells racism on any topic which comes up for discussion when people will not march in step with them. They are the proponent of group think and not individual thinking.

  4. Racism is real, but when the card is played without justification, credibility of the argument is diminished. Shame on east side ministers. It's about history and process, not MLK.

  5. I don't care what the voters say I will never ever call it MLK Blvd

  6. Actually that's kind of cool. The thing is been around so long that you'll be able to know people who are really from Kansas City to Paseo and then everybody else. It's just another way to know who you're really talking to when you are having a conversation.

  7. Hey, it's totally cool they're erasing our history because then we'll get to know who the REAL Kansas Citians are, right goys...err guys!

  8. I was at a gathering with the save the Paseo group, alysia canady was there also, it was black and white people together standing against the name change. The fat fake revs started this mess and illegally got the name changed they are scared they are losing ground on the name change, the whole thing was done wrong from the git go, last ditch effort is the race card and even they know that’s a lie.

  9. I think it’s racist not to name the Paseo after James Earl Ray. He was the hero.

  10. LETS GIVE MLK FAMILY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ANNUALLY TO GET THE NAMING RIGHTS OF A PERSON WHO NEVER VISITED OUR GREAT CITY OF KANSAS CITY

  12. Why is it Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and not just King Blvd? We don't have Harry S. Truman Road...just Truman Road

  13. ^^Good Point

  14. Personally, I would like to see a street named for MLK in KC. However, not The Paseo. It's the best name for a street in the whole town! Why not one of the numbered streets?

    ReplyDelete
  15. ^^And for what reason? He never stepped foot in KC was never elected to any national or state office. So why do we need to name streets after some Reverend from the south who really wasn't squeaky clean either. Oh I know because he was black.

    ReplyDelete
  16. ^^and yet he was in KC. You seem dumb. Weird.

    ReplyDelete
  17. ^^When you weird asshole?

    ReplyDelete
  18. King was never in Kansas City Mo

KCK yes but not on the Missouri side and so once again Cletus the weird guy is wrong. KCK has more than enough sense to know King wasn't of the fame to have something named after him everywhere. What's next Jesse Jackson Parkway? Walt Disney had more roots and a place in KC than King ever did and not a street named after him. Where is the street named after Joyce C. Hall at? Next thing you know some idiot will want to name a street after Frank White.

  20. Someone give an honest answer...HOW MUCH DOES THE CITY HAVE TO PAY THE KING FAMILY?

  21. You're an idiot.

  22. Truth is nobody pays anybody for street names. I'm opposed to naming it MLK but that is just silly and inflammatory.

  23. There are already two dozen streets named after negroes:

    Nigger Ave.
    Sambo St.
    Bluegum Blvd.
    Coon Ct.
    Ridgeback Rd.
    Tar Baby Terrace
    Ape Ave.
    Spade St.
    Thicklip Trafficway
    Colored Cutoff
    Burrhead Blvd.
    Darkie Dr.
    Porch Monkey Pl.
    Half Human Hwy.
    Wog Way
    Token Ter.

  24. They're playing the race card when it doesn't exist just to turn out the vote.

  25. Save the Paseo! Respect KC history. And yes, we should name something after Walt Disney and Ernest Hemingway.

    ReplyDelete
  26. 1:27 I was told by a former city council person, termed out last session, it was a minimum of $50,000 a year

    ReplyDelete
  27. ^^ What do they charge by the mile of road named after him?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Keep Byron Funkouser out of this.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hey sQuint - I drove by one of those street signs today and the lettering was squished together to get all of it on the sign. You should personally pay to change all the signs back to Paseo after Tuesday's vote. Wonder if the fat revs have committed adultery like their hero?

  30. I checked the sample ballot online--wording a little difficult --most blacks will likely fuck it up --

    ReplyDelete
  31. I do not believe it is racist to want to keep the historical name of a Boulevard. The KCMO Boulevard system was one of the finest when it was conceived and built. The Paseo was one of the two Boulevards that set the tone for the system, the other being Ward Parkway.
If you want to name something after MLK jr then take a numbered street like 39th, or 55th, or 63rd, or 75th or 103rd or 167th but leave The Paseo THE PASEO!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Did the City follow its' own rules regarding street name changes? If the answer is no then we need to put it to a citywide vote. Hopefully, this is a wake-up call for the folks down at City Hall. Frankly, most people don't care what they name a street, but rules are for EVERYONE.
