  1. Really. Who gives a crap what they name it. They're hell bent on naming some street MLK to placate the blacks, so some street is going to be renamed. In 25-50 years will it make a difference. Who cares.

  2. The Star insists on avoiding any mention of how much the King family intends to shake down KCMO taxpayers if this street name continues.
Shouldn't that be an important fact the voters should be able to consider in the election?

  3. ^^^It makes no sense to change those names now, when they'd just have to change them back to The Paseo after the November 5 election.

  4. Do as thou wilt. Malcolm X Blvd next. Living in America.

  5. I think Simon Bolivar Boulevard has a nice ring to it, why don't we go that route.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Malcolm deserves a street name after him. I am on the fence about Martin but I would say that the street name should go back to what it was originally. The Paseo. The folks who championed this were out of line. John Fuckin Miles was part of this bullshit. That should tell you all you need to know to make it right and change it back.

  12. We shouldn’t name anything after MLK, except for a fat turd floating in Brush Creek.

    ReplyDelete
  13. MLK couldn’t have cared less about negroes in Kansas City. He never set foot in this city. Why name anything after that fat, plagiarizing, philandering cocksucker?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Because unlike you, he mattered. He changed things. You don’t even change your diaper. That’s why he’ll always be remembered, and people don’t even know who you are and will never care. That help you dummy?

  15. Save the Paseo! Respect Kansas City history.

  16. How about naming it "Martin Paseo a la' King"?

KCMO has a MLK park which they do not maintain for the hood rats. If the park was properly maintained the park would be sufficient for having something named after MLK.

  19. Mlk Park has flush creek running right through it, now that’s a proper tribute right there!

    ReplyDelete
  20. That park has been named after him for a long time, Ive bet we’ve paid millions to the family by now. There is a school up the street named after him too. Our city has made the family millionaires for sure.

Why don’t they move mlk blvd to Johnson county?

How much for the use of the MLK name?
How much for the use of the MLK name?
Why no transparency about this? Might be a deal breaker for those who actually pay taxes. Tax payers have the right and the need to know!

  25. There are residents That live on the Paseo That Don't want the name Changed. Go Back the NEW York Times Report stated that City's That Changed A Street to M.L.K.THE PROPERTY VALUES DROPPED AROUND THE AREA. THE VOTER'S WILL VOTE TO CHANGE IT BACK TO THE PASEO. THE FAKE PREACHERS WILL LOOSE THIS ONE.

  26. Vote to keep the Paseo!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. This is going to sound dramatic but this is one of the more important votes we've had in KC. It's basically the crooked local politicians imposing their will on people vs the people fighting back. We still have no transparency on how much the city has to pay. This is one of the only times I can remember such a major issue being put on the ballot because of a petition. Please vote to save the paseo

  28. Someone at City Hall had to approve and program the computer to cut the check to the King Family. This is not Area 51 is it? Apparently there is over 900 streets named after MLK JR. I have yet to find any info on how much is paid annually from any source. I guess you get slapped down as a racist if you publish, ask or inquire in any way. I am always skeptical about taxpayer (eternal) commitments where all information is so tightly withheld. I am not aware if any of our politicos has ever even asked. I may have missed it. Please post if they have and if an answer has been stated.

  29. Quinton, be transparent post the perpetual cost!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Call it MLK, call it Tiny Tim, fuck me call it Mario brothers boulevard. It's still Paseo to me and everyone else that lives on it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. What the hell is the perpetual cost? Does it stay the same amount over the years? Or is adjusted for cost of living at specified intervals? What are the damn top secret Terms?
We now have a new absolute: Taxes, Death and Payments to the King Family...FOREVER!

    ReplyDelete
  32. What am I missing? Doesn't the opposition have the cost information to strengthen their case for stopping this shakedown? If they don't, why not? Something stinks worse than the broken down KC sewer system.
