The Kemper Museum Of Contemporary Art Hosts Kansas City Performance Art Protesters
The upscale Kansas City artsy institution quite literally invites criticism over the controversial investments of one of their trustees connected to U.S. immigration detention camps.
"A group of Kansas City artists spoke out against Kemper Museum board member Mariner Kemper, CEO of UMB bank. UMB has ties to an ICE-affiliated private prison in Rhode Island that violates human rights and perpetuates human suffering."
We talked about this previously but now there's video of the event as the Latinx crew of artists and hipsters pretend to change the world by way of insulting their hosts. Thankfully, the invitation seems like a way to patronize these artists without actually purchasing any of their goods.
To be fair, Joe Faus is the elder statesman in this group and he has actually been very reasonable with his perspective on the controversy and offered a look at the big picture whilst some of the other Latinx graffiti artists are busy making social media blood curses over any disagreement.
