The Kemper Museum Of Contemporary Art Hosts Kansas City Performance Art Protesters

The upscale Kansas City artsy institution quite literally invites criticism over the controversial investments of one of their trustees connected to U.S. immigration detention camps.

Deets:

"A group of Kansas City artists spoke out against Kemper Museum board member Mariner Kemper, CEO of UMB bank. UMB has ties to an ICE-affiliated private prison in Rhode Island that violates human rights and perpetuates human suffering."

We talked about this previously but now there's video of the event as the Latinx crew of artists and hipsters pretend to change the world by way of insulting their hosts. Thankfully, the invitation seems like a way to patronize these artists without actually purchasing any of their goods.

To be fair, Joe Faus is the elder statesman in this group and he has actually been very reasonable with his perspective on the controversy and offered a look at the big picture whilst some of the other Latinx graffiti artists are busy making social media blood curses over any disagreement.

Take a look:

You decide . . .

If artists whine in a museum that supports them financially and nobody is around, does anybody give a damn?

"... any compromise of solidarity only diminishes us."

Wise words.

That doesn't seem very reasonable to me

The invaders living in these "private prisons that violate human rights and perpetuate human suffering" receive food, medical care, clothing, etc. More Marxist Bullshit.

It all looks like fun. I'm sure the patrons and donors really enjoyed this little protest. I think they even served cake.

No idea what the lower classes are so upset about, these protesters were simply delightful.

What a nice way to spend an evening!

Artists are not known for their rational thinking. Tantrums are more their speed.

Artists and people with big student loans after getting fine arts degrees get the lowest paying jobs of anyone. They just are not as smart as they think they are. Go away and leave us alone.
