TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! FANS FEAR ONLY NEW DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY STADIUM WILL KEEP ROYALS IN KANSAS CITY!!!

Once again our blog community conversation becomes NEWS FACT as we started the chatter about new Mayor Quinton Lucas warming up to the Downtown Kansas City Stadium despite his campaign cold shoulder to the idea .

Now here's MSM taking our conversation and running with it . . .

FOX4: Fans worry what potential sale of Royals could mean for team’s future in Kansas City

Here's one comment out of many from our community of insiders who called this one:

Get those new ownership talks going, and then make the deal contingent on a new downtown baseball stadium being agreed to and publicly financed . . .

Mayor Quinton is already coming around to the idea.

It's in the bag, with Mayor Quinton and City Manager Troy working out their differences. Now, who's going to be the first to promise a World Series victory after it opens?

Accordingly . . .

TO KEEP THE KANSAS CITY ROYALS IN TOWN AFTER A SALE, EXPECT HIM TO FLIP FLOP ON THE DOWNTOWN STADIUM THAT NOW SEEMS LIKE AN INEVITABILITY AND NOT JUST A CRAZY IDEA!!!

Moreover . . .

THE CAREER OF QUINTON LUCAS WILL SUFFER A HORRIFIC ERROR IF HE'S THE MAYOR TO LOSE THE ROYALS!!!

And so, we look forward to the big money gamesmanship and the rhetorical performance required to spin this deal and sell it to tax weary residents.

Developing . . .

  1. Let them go.

Las Vegas is taking our team.

We can't live in the past.

    Time to move on.

  3. No room downtown for stadium or parking.’would take great coordination with other venues to not be hosting concerts on game days. Traffic would be a nightmare. They only considering downtown because of developer incentives and tax abatement.

Let's keep that MOMENTOUS momentum momenting!

And fuck the taxpayers, schools, libraries, and all the rest.

  9. 8:26: Why do the Royals "need" to stay in KC?

If we could survive without them, they are not necessary. If they want a new stadium, let their owners--you know, the guys who make a profit from them--pay for it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Glass is selling for a reason. Baseball is a dying game. If a 60 something year old rich guy wants to own a baseball team then let him. The stadium is just fine where it is and do not give a rich hobbyist a stadium. It will be an albatross in 15 years.

  11. 9:02 might be right. Attendance was down over the last couple of years league wide.

    Ratings are down too.

    https://blogs.fangraphs.com/those-disastrous-world-series-tv-ratings/

I don't watch any sports but golf, however my friends watch the Royals, but, can't afford to go to the games. They told me that a beer was $10.00.

I guess if you go out there with your family, it could run into some serious cash. When I was a kid, centuries ago, it was fun to go with my family. We ate at Bryant's Bar B Que, parked in someone's front yard and my dad had Hamm's beer on the porch after the game while my mom insisted that "This is the last one, we gotta go after this..."

    :)

Oh well, things change, at least this isn't being blamed on Whitey for being "Racist".

  12. Non baseball fans love downtown stadiums. The game is just an excuse to go somewhere and drink.

    ReplyDelete
  13. The last thing we need in our potholed, bullet-ridden, educationally challenged town is another debt-laden development scam. If the Royals wanna go, fuck 'em. If there's a viable baseball market, another team will come knocking. This town has a few more important things to deal with than being blackmailed into more unnecessary shit it can't afford.for a shitty owner and a team that's good maybe one year in ten.

  14. Downtown baseball might work. First, you would have to get rid of bike riders, scooters, the streetcar and all the homosexuals. There are way too many faggots downtown and mostly they just like wearing women’s clothing and sucking dick.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I live Downtown and I do love sucking black dick. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. That pulsating experience is one of a kind.

Glass is probably selling before the value drops any lower. He should have sold at the top, 2015.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Of course, the location of a stadium has NOTHING to do with the performance of a team.
And, if it did, the Royals World Series win would indicate that they should continue to play where they currently are.
In KCMO there'll always be "a missing piece" for downtown "success".
    More hotels;
    Followed by Bartle Hall expansion;
Followed by the ridiculous notion of a baseball stadium.
    Are we there yet?
No, because the folks who make their livings doing deals and building mostly useless things have long known that the very easy touches at 12th and Oak can always be rolled for a few hundred million more from the taxpayers.
Lucas needs to focus on reducing murders and fixing streets.
Only time will tell if he has the guts to actually do the job.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Viva Las Vegas Royals. You can’t leave soon enough.

    ReplyDelete
  19. There are cities all over the country that have developed downtowns, riverfronts, entertainment districts at a fraction the cost that KCMO has poured into development schemes. It seems the missing piece is not another scheme but a well managed, safe city.

    ReplyDelete
  20. First of all this idea is being pushed by the people who should just shut up - the talking heads of sports radio. These Jagoff's never have any skin in the game. They have no sports background as they have never played sports as an athlete or been a coach of even little league and probably never graduated college. They are the AOC's of the sports talking world, you can't believe them.
Second John Sherman is a true KC guy and a super fan of Ewing and Muriel Kauffman's legacy. He knows the intent of Mr. K was to always have baseball in KC and he will make it happen. The group is not just him but others he has recruited. He is trustworthy and a true businessman. He knows to make money, spend money.
Third the sports Jagoff's were the same group of people that told, no promised, KC would have a professional basketball AND hockey team if we just built the Sprint Center. How's that working for you?

    ReplyDelete
  21. We’ll soon find out if homosexuals like baseball if the Royals move downtown.

    ReplyDelete
  22. @ 825 & 1005 (same person)
Go back to Las Vegas you turd.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Instead of a smaller stadium, how about a better team? There would be more fans in attendance if they just played 500 ball.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The Royals are not moving downtown. KCMO is broke from the GO Bonds and the Airport the citizens are still going to end up paying for. Lucas is looking for 75 mil to build small houses he can't find. And the firemen are going to want a big pay raise and bigger pensions while they live outside KCMO and don't pay earnings tax anymore. Then there is the crime and total lack of parking. If you want a downtown stadium why not put it at 22nd and Brooklyn? Cost of downtown land and lack of parking big problems. The fans don't live downtown they live in Blue Springs, Independence, South KC, North of the river,Liberty, Lee's Summit and JOCO. The current location suits all of those people just fine. I sure don't want to go downtown, I didn't lose anything there.

  25. Let.the.Royals.Go. Who gives a fuck? I dont. Bye. #nodowntownstadium

  26. ^^^^^ + 100

  27. The only sporting event I'd pay to see in KC is "leaders" who've wasted taxpayer money on railroad track trails, solar farms, and airports VS. The lions. Make politics a job to die for, MKCGA.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Royals probably will not move. The A's and the Rays have been trying for decades to leave their towns they're stuck where they are.

A poster above jokingly said "Non baseball fans love a downtown stadium". And he's actually right though and that's why baseball should be downtown because it will add several hundred people a night at game and over the course of 81 games that adds up. Parking's fine.

Retards saying there's no parking downtown are being disingenuous and lying. Sprint center accommodates 20k and when the big 12 tournament is there, during the weekdays, it AND municipal auditorium are used and there's roughly 40k people who are parking down there during regular weekday business hours.

Also, have you ever even fucking gone to a sold out royals or chiefs games? That parking situation is worse than anything imaginable. You sit in your car for two hours trying to get through the gate where you pay $60 and get guided through the parking lot labyrinth for another hour until they finally drop you off in an unpaved field with dead possums a mile away from the stadium. Fuck off people and their old man parking argument. you're lying sacks of shit

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. ^^^^dude the issue with parking is when you have events at both power and light, sprint, midland and the stadium all at the same time. People would be stuck in garages for awhile trying to pull out.

      Delete
  29. The Royals could move on the Kansas side where the T Bones couldn’t pay rent.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes and that parking situation is still way better than what happens at the truman sports complex during a big game. Went to a World Series game in 2015 and was stuck trying to leave the parking lot for two hours. Parking fucking blows at the sports complex AND it's in the middle of fucking nowhere but every dipshit against downtown baseball is like "MUH PARKING" which is just a disingenuous argument by people who are trying to come up with some argument to justify that they really just don't like change

    ReplyDelete
  31. Great. Downtown stadium. More targets for the hood rats to shoot.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Chuck watches golf!!?? OK, he doesn't get to have an opinion about anything from now on.

    ReplyDelete
  33. 11 years ago St. Louis built the new Busch stadium at the site of the old stadium. Cost 665 million dollars! There is no old site in kcmo. What would be the cost of a new stadium in downtown? The airport price doubled in 2 years. The cost would be prohibitive. Goodbye royals.

Hate to break it to you..the Royals belong in KC. You people don't. I live in Jackson County, MO and will vote for any new stadium. Sorry, you all are on the wrong end of this one.

    1. Yes you might get to vote. The problem is that they only count the yes votes.

  37. Baseball is nothing more than entertainment. Who ever the new owner is,they will have to be wealthy and smart. Staying in kcmo is a losing proposition. Moving to another venue would pay the new owner large sums of money to have entertainment. It’s just not in kcmo.

    ReplyDelete
  38. This is a Kansas City guy, on the board of the Kaufman Foundation, with business ties in Kansas City. What part of that narrative indicates the team is moving or requires a downtown ballpark? This is probably the best case scenario for the team. A multi-billionaire buying the team (who has deep pockets) and wants to keep the team in KC.

I love Kaufman stadium. I like tailgating. I like the ease of getting in/out. It's a beautiful ballpark. I wish there was more than the Subway across the street. I'd prefer it to be downtown. I live on the KS side so I can't bitch about paying for it though.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I will vote for it as well. It's time. Most of you people here would never update anything. Look at the hovels you are currently residing in? Progress people, progress.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Whit the misuse of the $800 million go bond and higher taxes for a new ball park and can see more people moving out of Kansas City MO and a lot will go empty. Values will go down .

    ReplyDelete
  41. ^^and yet that will NEVER happen. Weird.

    ReplyDelete
  42. ^^Weird. Weird. There will be a KCMO exodus...by those that can. Weird.

  43. If the Royals leave, I will hang myself.

    (That will stop them.)

  44. You'll have to park somewhere outside downtown the take the toy train or pedal a city rental bike to the game.

Johnson, Staubio and Bunch will ticket and jail any violators for crimes against humanity it you don't.

    ReplyDelete
  45. With a stadium downtown there will be no room for the 25,000,000 anally tourists to park.

    ReplyDelete
  46. MLB lost me as a fan when the million dollar crybabies went on strike years and years ago.

I don't watch NFL for the same reason, or any organized sports for that matter.

Can you imagine how fucking busy I am doing OTHER cool things?

    ReplyDelete
  47. ^^^*No, because here you are on a sports thread. Nice try loser.
