TKC MUST READ!!! MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS VOWS TO CONTINUE FIGHT AGAINST RISING KANSAS CITY DEADLY VIOLENCE!!!

The aftermath of a DEADLY DOUBLE MURDER NEAR THE DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY P&L DISTRICT has resonated among local elected officials given the exorbitant amount of taxpayer funded subsidy it takes to support this small swath of development inside the loop. Nearly half a BILLIONS dollars has poured into this area over the last decade as the entertainment district now confronts the same violence which plagues the rest of the urban core.

And so, we sense frustration and a glimpse at future strategy focused on limiting gun rights from the newly promoted politico.

The latest tweet from Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas:

"Will never get used to the intolerable amount of gun violence in our city. I'll keep coming up w/proposals to stem our violence problem, even if there are critiques for each and every one. My condolences to the family and friends of the two men shot and killed last night."

Complaints about opposition seem premature given that most seem enthusiastic about his ideas. His recent effort to crackdown on minors holding guns was greeted enthusiastically by many Conservatives as a de facto "stop & frisk" effort.

Unfortunately, the new mayor seems hung up on HIMSELF and his role as mayor when in reality so many residents have already expressed their preferred solution to help curb local crime . . .

OVER AND OVER KANSAS CITY RESIDENTS HAVE TOLD POLITICOS TO PUT MORE POLICE OFFICERS ON THE STREET TO THWART THE HOMICIDE EPIDEMIC!!!

Sadly, 12th & Oak seems hesitant to take on an, admittedly, expensive solution.

At times, it seems that police would rather have money for new toys and promotional efforts rather than increase their ranks.

There's also a difficult debate about local control beneath the surface.

Nevertheless, Kansas City has failed to maintain 50-year-old promises for higher police staffing goals.

And so, before crafting new legislation, Mayor Quinton might want to consider simply fulfilling a half-century old promise to put more police on Kansas City streets in order to fight crime.

You decide . . .

  1. Been talking about it since '68 and still not 1500 cops on KC streets.

    Sad.

  2. why fight crime when we can just take away civil rights?

  3. Yep. Useless as the last one.

  4. First I think we need to start being honest with our self. Quit saying teens or youth and tell people the true identity of the people perpetuating the crimes.

  6. Drug gangs. No Cops.

  7. Sky would have been silent. Lucas deserves a ton of credit for speaking out against the violence that infects this city. It looks like the east side investment in grocery stores, the Jazz museum and 18th and Vine have NOT had a positive effect on the violence.
Maybe we try to spend on more police and prosecutors/investigators and see if this will helps.

More cops on the street wont make a bit of difference. Cops don’t stop or prevent crime, they mere show up after a crime has been committed - mostly to pass judgement and mock those they feel superior too. More cops isn’t the answer. This is a humanity crisis not a police crisis.

  10. Lucas should call out the black community, he’s got 3 1/2 years before the next election. Piss’em off now and he will have time to get their votes, I mean make it up to them.

The black voters have already proven that they can be bought. Easy peasy.

  13. I've read this issue goes back to 1968 and the people DEMANDING more cops be added to the streets.
Again the question, WHY!!?? as in, Why have there not been more cops added to the streets?
I moved to this area in 1997 and I saw for myself that once 5PM hit downtown you either best be leaving or packing because it gets pretty iffy after that.
I was moving equipment for a construction company back then and knew to keep my doors locked, my eyes moving and my head on a swivel when I was doing my job because once the sun went down, the riff-raff came out and would rather steal than work.
KCMO has dumped [WASTED] a LOT of $$$$ in the area of the Sprint Center and while others have made money and then skipped town, the city is FAR from recouping on its "investment". There's a nice, shiny area for about 4 square blocks and then back to the same old grime and crime once you get out of that Shiny 4 Block area.
You can bring all the big names, the fancy art shows and festivals you want but as long as the thugs, hoods, and knuckleheads are still 'banging' the area, it's still a grubby pig wearing lipstick.

A good start would be locking the thugs up for 15 years with no parole for the first offense unless someone is killed and then automatic life with no parole or death penalty with only 1 appeal allowed.

  15. Get Rid of The 'Administrators' and Get The Cops Out of The Office and Out In The Streets-Where They Can Bust The Bad Guys!!!
STOP Giving Tax Breaks For Fancy-Ass Hotels UNTIL You Get Enough Cops In The Streets to KEEP THE STREETS SAFE!!!!!

  16. Sorry new mayor, you cannot sit in the city council for several years and then utter the statement:
"Will never get used to the intolerable amount of gun violence in our city. I'll keep coming up w/proposals to stem our violence problem"
The time for proposals is over-It's time to S**T or get off the pot. You're either going to propose this until the next major issue occurs, OR You're going to make a stand against the thugz and take back the city and put these nitwits in the penitentiary where they belong.

  17. Nice of Quinton to attempt to give the illusion that he cares, even though he doesn’t. Sly rarely even acknowledged our murder problem.

  20. More police isn't the solutions. The current police are do nothing police. I have lived there two years and called the police non-emergency three times with issues and the police refused to act on the issues. Elsewhere, the police do something, they show up. Act on the issues when the issues are small and the issues do not become big issues, really.

  23. What in the hell does this son of a bitch mean by "Vows to Continue?" There's not a continuation of jack crap, as a matter of fact Sly James incited violence and Lucas was there why didn't he do something back then? This guy is so full of BS it's not even funny.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 5:25 here's why you are wrong.

The people who beg for more police, then the cry gets louder, politicians step in and tell the Chief (every city this goes on) to saturate the area. The very same people who beg for more cops then scream the popo are violating their rights. Then turn on the cops; here's a perfect example:

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/video-shows-nypd-struggling-to-arrest-man-as-onlookers-taunt-them

Then the lawyers or more likely the ACLU jumps in and the police back off due to the very community who asked for them are now suing.

This is not a new problem, it's goes on all the time. To your point that the police didn't come out, I suspect, they didn't come out because your issue wasn't an emergency.

So many groups locally are begging for the violence to stop. Take the time to look inward, what causes the problem.

Look inward, don't always look for a government solution, it starts at home, community and as a whole the city.

Inward means look at the root problem, 1 parent homes, politicians screaming about the "industrial prison complex" Their answer is to let more people out of prison to do what; commit more crimes - look INWARD and tell the politicians that while more prisons are not the answer, letting people out of prison to commit more crimes is certainly not the answer.

Look inward, start at the root problem.....in the homes and communities as a whole. LOOK INWARD!!

  25. Just remember it’s takes twice as long to get out of a problem than it takes to get into it. To be honest, it can’t be fixed. This problem spans generations. Wait til this new crop of KCPS kids hit the street. The best we can hope for is that we protect our own.

  27. So let’s go over what we need:
    1. Police actually enforcing the law and being proactive.
    2. A temporary ban on probation. All offenders must serve their time completely.
    3. More jails and prison space including sending prisoners out of state.
    4. A tougher juvenile court and harder on juveniles.
    5. Accredited schools.
    6. More good paying jobs.
    7. More affordable housing.
    8. More free mental health services.
    9. Free college and job training.

  31. Another 4 years of blaming it on the white man in Jefferson City. Gee, there are so many thousands of gun owners north of the river. They don’t have problems with drive by shootings by people who wear their pants around their knee caps.

Quinton Lucas can’t be honest about it. He’s too afraid.

  33. The only entity that can do anything to stem the violence that is vomiting in our streets is the community, the residents of this city, the people who are sick to death (sorry, no pun intended) of seeing what the behavior of a small percentage of people are doing to the rest of us. It's not the elected officials of this city. It's not the ineffective social and activist groups and organizations that keep cropping up and filling the airwaves with their angry rhetoric but do nothing more. It's not the police who are doing their jobs but can only do so much. Until the every day Joes stand up and say "No more" and mean it nothing will change and we will keep burying our children, our neighbors, our co-workers. Meetings, vigils, parties, and empty promises aren't gonna cut it, folks.

  34. How bout training Unicorns to patrol the streets and give out free rainbow lollipops to the killers of Kansas City.

This is especially important because, as social creatures, we are most comfortable moving where the herd is already moving.

  37. "Unfortunately, the new mayor seems hung up on HIMSELF and his role as mayor.."

    You got that right!

Here's politician Quinton Lucas in a nutshell: He's a time-traveler. Quinton is attempting to go back in time and save little Quinton from his poverty and homelessness.

Only problem? Little Quinton got saved by the generosity of well-to-do white people who provided him scholarships to private schools. Support systems like the public library and public transit helped a lot, but Quinton wouldn't have gone to the prep school, college and law school that he did without a white hand offering help.

  39. Quinton needs to increase his learning curve on crime. These feel good statements aren't going to cut it any longer.

  40. Fire the prosecutors. Fire the judges.

Journalists need to dig. If a homicide suspect is arrested, and has numerous felonies on their record already... ask why they were out in the first place.

When we don't have fear of consequences, it's easier to act how you want

    ReplyDelete
  41. More cops aren’t the answer they’ll just set on their favorite speed trap spots and hassle more white people out of their money after all there’s no money in busting worthless niggers but if you ticket a white person he willf just hand you his money . It’s no longer serve and protect it’s usurp and harass white people that is
