THREE STRIKES AGAINST JACKSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE FRANK WHITE?!?

In order to share a glimpse of the future, let's consider the not so distant past.

Remember that a dispute over control of COMBAT anti-crime funds took more than a year to resolve and ultimately a judge was forced to strip control of the taxpayer funds away from Jackson County Executive Frank White.

Accordingly . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS PREDICT THE PROPERTY TAX ASSESSMENT HOT MESS IS HEADED TO ANOTHER COURT BATTLE AND ODDS ARE AGAINST EXEC FRANK WHITE!!!

Throughout the ordeal Exec Frank White maintains that plans to reduce property taxes are "illegal" and he will not comply with them . . . Sadly, there have been no ideas to lower the assessments from Exec White's office during this process.

Meanwhile the Missouri State Tax Commission has endorsed a plan to lower assessment which they believe complies with the law.

A Missouri state committee has been formed to address the problem and it's likely they'll dispute the Exec.

And so, here's the word from a Courthouse Insider:

"It's three strikes for Executive Frank White. The Legislature is against him, a Republican on the BOE is leading the charge to reverse the higher tax assessments and it's likely the newly formed Missouri committee will side with over 21,000 people who are appealing the dysfunctional process. When this eventually goes before a judge, you'll have three major legislative bodies all disagreeing with the Exec and that's likely to sway opinion . . . Just like when COMBAT was taken away from him. When the decision is eventually reversed, we'll need to start talking about Frank White out of a job because he would have committed an unforgivable error in what is the main crux of his job."

  1. Can we just skip all of the legal drama?

    Recall Frank White NOW.

    1. Funny that Frank White could end this all with the stroke of a pen. For me that's the bigger story. He doesn't have to do much but just agree to a plan that has already been approved. I guess he really needs that money. I can understand that, the new jail won't be free.

  3. Skippy should have given up the goods on "FUBAR Fraudster Frank's Foreclosure Funds From Friends In Large Law Firms", etc!

It AIN'T snitchin' when ya know the SOBs would do the same to you! Plus Mike could have spared JaCo taxpayers from this bigly bad tax mess. He's gonna be tied to this and unforgiven by the majority of inconvenienced KC property owners and gouged renters.

  4. Frank wiffed more than three times a long time ago, but in Jackson County and KCMO government repeated failure is hardly a reason to go away or even to run for some higher office.
Jackson County if full of D-list celebrity wannabees and as long as the voters keep electing them and approving one tax increase after another, these clowns will happily stay right where they are.
    Momentum!

Neither Frank White nor anyone else has raised taxes to date. There is a potential for a property tax increase, but whether that happens and if so by how much is entirely up to levy rates which will not be set until later this year. It is possible that the political subdivisions that set the rates will choose to fleece the taxpayers, but it is also possible that they won't.

  9. 3 strikes would mean Frank is out.

Yet, he is still in office and in charge.

TKC and this supposed "insider" again displays a complete lack of sports knowledge. Stick to metaphors you understand and make sense.

How about yet another error for the former Gold Glover? Or while masterful at 2nd base, his switch to Jackson County Executive has proven he is now woefully out of position. Or will he make through the end of his current 4 year contract? Or will voters be able to order a early benching? Come on, it's not that hard.

  10. Hey, 5:22, Frank IS out.....out in left field! Ha!

Yeah, well, seems the plate ump may not have gotten a good enough look to make the call on Frank's latest swing, so White's fate at the plate is pending the base ump's call.

  12. 4:24 aka Caleb or assorted minion. Gail McCann stated in several nbhd mtgs that the estimates on the assessment letters were close to what will be levied because most had already reduced them with the estimates or something to that effect. Since there is no way the BOE hearings will be completed by Sept 1, the taxing jurisdictions will be forced to use the numbers they were given in July anyways. Taxpayers are screwed, it is highly unlikely it will be much lower that what is on your assessment, and if you live in KC School District, they were never gonna lower their levy anyways. Frank and his admin are unabashed and unrepentant liars.
