Show-Me Outrage Marketing: Missouri Senator Hawley Earns More Publicity Amid Perfectly Timed 'Betsy Ross Flag' Sneaker Recall

Meanwhile, the crisis offers Conservatives a chance to help spread Nike brand awareness by expressing their outrage and increasing company share of mind. Moreover, the market segmentation makes the brand seem, young, diverse and forward thinking all over an old school symbol that's rarely used.

We credit the Missouri politico for taking this pound of flesh but make no mistake that it's all part of the same game that actually benefits the company in the long term. Take a look at pure capitalism in action and using "patriotism" as a punch line:

Sen. Hawley blasts 'anti-American' Nike for pulling patriotic sneakers, shipping jobs overseas

Sen. Josh Hawley condemned Wednesday the "anti-American" decision by Nike to recall their new sneakers featuring the original Betsy Ross American flag after receiving criticism from Colin Kaepernick. Nike announced this week that it would not move forward with the sale of their Air Max 1 Quick Strike Fourth of July shoes, citing concerns that it might "unintentionally offend" people because of its connection to the era of legal slavery.

    Can you imagine how fast they’d go bankrupt if Americans quit buying they’re child labor produced shoes and clothes, they think they’re too big to fall....

    The people who are outraged would not have bought the product, anyway. The people who buy Nike products don't care what old, white men think.

    Nike is neither Anti-American, Un-American or American. It's a corporation.

    Our 4th Of July:
    Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56
    men who signed the Declaration of Independence?
    Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died.
    Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.
    Two lost their sons serving In the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured.
    Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.
    They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.
    What kind of men were they?
    Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.
    Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large
    plantation owners; men of means, well-educated, but they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.
    Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.
    Thomas McKeam was so hounded bythe British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His
    possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.
    Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.
    At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson,Jr., noted that
    the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson
    home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General
    George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.
    Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.
    John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished.
    So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July
    holiday and silently thank these patriots. It's not much to ask for the price they paid.

    now fighting to KEEP our freedom!
    It's time we get the word out that patriotism is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of July has more MEANING to it than beer, fireworks, HOT DOGS, and picnics......

  4. Good post, time we were reminded that American Politicians once were truly "Patriots" who served their Country, and not just Special Interests.

    And yes, some of their wealth involved Slave labor, but that offense was paid for in full by the blood of the Union Soldiers who died to free the ancestors of all present day African Americans.

    I have no sympathy for any bad press they get because they show zero loyalty to America We have child labor laws here. Whats their response? Open up in a country that doesnt Wages? I just read an article that nine paus their laborers approx 75 dollars a month
    Tell me how we as a country, that has been screeming about hunan rights for as long as i can remember, allow american business men to go to another country and open up sweat shops that violate every moral norm we wouldnt tolerates here
    The issue shouldnt be outrageous over flag on a shoe
    The outrage should be letting these ceo’s get away with acting like mideavil feudal lords
