A quick update from the toy train and so many consultants and social media hacks still aboard this gravy train:
"Highest ridership ever. Thank you #KC for riding the #kcstreetcar"
The newspaper and every other local publication have pretty much ignored these ridership claims that have now evolved into pure fantasy.
Let's not forget that streetcar touts numbers that are now close to 200% greater than comparable cities like Seattle, D.C. and Dallas.
The independent verification is sketchy at best yet the ride continues into Midtown without a citywide vote . . .
Developing . . .
I wouldn't say it's fake, maybe a bit suspect because they're trying to sell the extension when KC hates taxes.
ReplyDeleteI say it's bullshit.
ReplyDeleteSuspevt is a good word but I still like fake better.
ReplyDeleteIn other news, meaningless statistics are up 87% this year.
ReplyDeleteStatistics are never meaningless, the author of them is just trying to sell you something and such is the purpose of them!
ReplyDelete"There are lies.damned lies and statistics"
ReplyDeleteLet’s see what the numbers are after ego maniac sLIE gets the boot August 1st
ReplyDeleteWhat do you expect? They went to ride the FREE spaceship to the moon. It's been on every TV station for several days.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, see you at the KC Streetcar expansion groundbreaking!!! Also, see you when they order the next 5 streetcars.
ReplyDeleteThe streetcar continues to win!!! All the moribund shut-ins continue to lose!! Yay!
ReplyDeleteI have it on good authority that number includes people who thought-about riding the thing too.
ReplyDeleteCity leadership fabricated numbers??? Odd...
ReplyDeleteExpansion will never occur. The property increase, which hit the hardest to homes on the proposed route, ensures another tax hike will never be approved by the voters
ReplyDeleteUnderstandable if you examine the Methodology -
ReplyDeletesend 46 Statisticians to a Streetcar Stop, have them board, do a headcount of everyone on the vehicle for one block, then multiply by the total number of trips run in a month.
