I grew up in Parsons and eventually worked as a correctional officer at Trousdale Turner Correctional Center, a CoreCivic facility in rural Tennessee. CoreCivic often builds their facilities in rural areas where they are out of sight, out of mind and where locals hope their presence will boost the local economy and provide jobs.
