He's an opinion leader for the right and one of the most prolific Republican pundits in the Kansas City metro for decades. Recently, Jack Cashill offered an interesting and somewhat surprising endorsement in the allegedly non-partisan election for KCMO mayor.
First more background for those who don't know . . .
Jack Cashill is an American author, journalist, blogger and documentary producer. He is a weekly contributor to the WorldNetDaily Web site and Executive Editor of Ingram's Magazine, a business publication based in Kansas City, Missouri.
Now, the word from the GOP opinion maker:
Jack Cashill: "Quinton Lucas for KC mayor. He is wiser than his web site might lead you to believe."
We believe that Mr. Cashill might be referring to the "Economic and Racial Justice" agenda recently touted by Quinton Lucas. Our blog community talked about this and basically came to the conclusion that Mr. Lucas would be better off focusing on the more practical problems facing KCMO like potholes, sewers and our horrific homicide rate.
SJW crusading aside . . .
THE NOD FROM JACK CASHILL IS THE FIRST MAJOR CONSERVATIVE ENDORSEMENT IN THE KANSAS CITY RACE FOR MAYOR!!! WILL THE SUPPORT ENCOURAGE MORE RIGHT-WINGERS TO JOIN TEAM QUINTON?!?!
This question is paramount as both candidates desperately search for an edge in appealing to the various factions that make up the local political scene given that BOTH CANDIDATES ARE DECIDEDLY PROGRESSIVE BY MOST OBJECTIVE STANDARDS.
Moreover . . .
Now that the most vocal advocates among KC unions are set to back Jolie Justus with HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars; support from Republicans, who mostly keep quiet about urban core politics, is essential in holding onto a very slim lead in the polls for Quinton Lucas.
You decide . . .
It will give license to a lot of republicans to try and find a lesser evil. I think in the end, the subsidies for corporations might be an issue the fiscal hawks can hold on to when they want to talk about the policy that actually governs city hall. At least quinton is clear about his rhetoric on that.
ReplyDelete^^ Talks a good game you mean
DeleteIt makes sense. When it comes to social issues, Jolie is off the rails in her silliness.
DeleteConservatives don't have a good choice in this election. A search for the lesser of two evils.
ReplyDeleteQuinton makes more sense for conservatives, over the course of her career Jolie has been outright hostile to any Republican. Openly so and proud of it, at least Quinton seems more likely to offer an olive branch.
DeleteIt's like choosing between Tweedledee and Tweedledum. I'm sitting this one out.

I have met Cahill...the arrogant prick.
ReplyDeleteI would never want to be on any side that Jack Cashill was on.
ReplyDeleteHis writing is always hysterical (& I don't mean funny.)
bLIEron, and this is key retard, nobody cares what you think, you don’t live here so you get no say so and it’s none of your business, buzz off now freeloader.
ReplyDeleteJack Cashill is a far right goosestepping fascist.
ReplyDeleteJack just wants to be able to say that he has a least one black friend.
ReplyDeleteWorks for both of them.
Who can use more people than the other.
Sad.
@10:32 probably has the most spot on comment. This is just social media posturing and nothing more.
DeleteSITUATIONAL SCENARIOS
ReplyDelete1) Jack Cashill endorsed Lucas because the KCPD supports him, and Cashill is very pro-law enforcement. (His father was a cop)
2) Quinton assured Cashill that much of his public rhetoric is simply tossing red meat to his Liberal East-side base. Quinton is secretly a suburban, JoCo-friendly, white girlfriend, KU employee who will continue working with Mission Hills developers to suck up KCMO taxpayer dollars.
3) Cashill doesn't know that Quinton Lucas is a pro-abortion, Big Government, High Taxes, Welfare State, Liberal Democrat. Hard to believe this one!
Wait till Byron finds out what else Mark and Gloria had to do while in KC. Ohhhhh is he ever in for a huge surprise. We will see what Byron looks like wearing orange.
ReplyDeleteSo, Cashill is now pro-abortion.
ReplyDeleteThat is an interesting turn of things.
Politics is about compromise. Given both options, Quinton is the best choice, especially when you think about how crazy Jolie can get and the potential she has to turn KC into some snowflake playground.
ReplyDeleteThink about it.
Surprised that Jack went with Quinton. I don't think conservatives should sit out any election. It is better to go and write in a real conservative like Clay Chastain. I think that would be the better choice given the options at hand. At least that sends a message to city hall.
ReplyDeleteI'm against MLK blvd. It should have stayed The Paseo. Cannot vote for Quinton because of his sponsorship of that decision.
ReplyDeleteQuinton +10 sorry, nobody is going to vote for a woman who can't make up her mind on any issue.
ReplyDelete11:06--The best part about Cashill's dad ran down his leg. He shoulda' pulled out sooner damned the luck

ReplyDeleteWhile escorting Cashill to his table, the waiter has already started working toward a tip..."I was raised by a single-mother and experienced homelessness as a child!!!"
Fuck Lucas, he’s a fucking fuck face
ReplyDelete@ 301 - Than you for the most educated comment you could ever make.
ReplyDeleteLucas has the support of liberals, moderates and conservatives. Why ? He is legitimate, smart, common sense oriented and consensus driven. I have seen him speak ten times and he is consistently straightforward.
