SHOCK!!! TKC SURVEY SEYZ: KANSAS CITY TALK RADIO LISTENERS DEMAND CHRIS STIGALL REPLACE SCOTT PARKS!!!

A Kansas City media saga continues with a new twist.

To wit and checkit:

FEEDBACK FROM KANSAS CITY TALK RADIO LISTENERS INFORMS OUR BLOG COMMUNITY THAT SCOTT PARKS MUST GO IN FAVOR OF REAL RIGHT-WING CONSERVATIVE CHRIS STIGALL!!!

Now, Mr. Parks accused TKC of having agenda in reporting the demise of his radio career but that's completely incorrect. Reality: TKC likely won't listen to either show because this blog has always been updated whilst listening to "Duel of the Fates" composed by John Williams and recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra for that dumb-ass Star Wars Jar-Jar Binks movie.

However . . .

This is why the move might make sense . . .

Talk radio is a niche market dominated by Conservatives. Initially, the medium was sparked into a renaissance by Rush Limbaugh and KMBZ's switch to "boomer humor" has ultimately failed despite an increasingly lonely American listening public. Turns out people would rather flock to social media to find fake friends.

And so, with Chris Stigall out in Philly local Conservatives want to bring back one of their strongest advocates.

He's not coming back to KCMO -- Pete Mundo is doing a bang up job there and is really more of a journalist with a much more listenable show that isn't all arguing.

Meanwhile, Stigall is a pure partisan entertainer and advocate. His return trip to Heartland makes sense before the 2020 election.

TKC once watched the dude rally a crowd of thousands in support of the ultimately doomed tea party but that didn't make his pitch any less impressive.

And so we put the juxtaposition to our reader community . . .

WHO IS THE BETTER TALKER: SCOTT PARKS OR CHIS STIGALL??? AND IS IT WISE TO BRING BACK STIGALL TO KC?!?!

Again, none of this is my bag -- TKC would rather listen to a soothing Japanese Lo-Fi ambient hop-hop mix than endure the blather of middle-class white dudes and their persecution complexes from either partisan perspective . . . BUT there is no denying that Scott Parks is in career free fall thanks to a debilitating case of "Trump Derangement Syndrome" and local right-wingers are mercilessly trolling the dude in hope that one of their heroes will make a comeback.

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. Make it the all Dana Show.

Call it the KC gossip hour and watch the ratings skyrocket.

    Ladies first!

    1. Honestly, this makes me like Parks more if Repub-thugs are against him. I bet he gets more fans out of this.

      Think about it.

    2. I hoped Stigall would have done better in Philly. He left at is peak here. I don't know if he would want to come back with his hat in his hand. Nice to see his friends are still trying to look after him and get him a new job.

  2. its getting harder and harder to listen to Parks - or see any of his social media. Please stop calling that guy a conservative. He is as lib as Dana. Its not why people go to KMBZ.

And that guy on after him who replaced Darla Jaye is a complete dumb fuck.

Bring back Darla for local and syndicate anyone else except that twit Meghan McCain.

  3. I hope Scott parks just replace he'talks down to his lister's and people who call. Into the show. him like he's better than they are especially when he doesn't really understand the issues and a hatred for certain activist here in Kansas City who he really knows nothing about. I think it's time that the pompous ass goes.

  4. Who is Scott Parks? Sounds like he thinks he is someone important. Apparently he is on his downward spiral just like KCMO.

  5. Dana and Parks are only as good as the shows before and after. There's where the change needs to happen!

^^^^ That's a real comment from somebody who knows the business. But I think KMBZ is in for another radical shift across the station.

    Format change?

You'll know soon TKC and readers.

  7. KMBZ lost most of KC when they changed the format style and split AM and FM. I know people that listen to Limbaugh but I don't. I know other people like me that can't stand the cackling bitch Dana. And then there is Wier(d) after D&P. So three years ago I wrote off KMBZ entirely. I live a lot better life now without the irritation I had all day long with Z in my life. I hate Parks drunken BS and his "laugh" and constant stories about his car wreck. I hope he loses his job, his wife, his house and moves down under a bridge near Woodsweather road.

  8. Cant stand Dana or Parks. Their content is so dumbed-down, with no original talking points or opinions. They walk the middle road to appeal to everyone. The only good show on kmbz is Coast to Coast AM, which doesn't come on until midnight, and is nationally syndicated. Pete Mundo is okay, but he's just too square for my personal taste. KC radio is dead.

  9. Parks is past done. Should have got rid of him when Shanin was forced off. There is just no chemistry on the show. Kind of like listening to office water cooler conversations. Just bland and to pass the time.

  10. You bitches.

Parks is hilarious and his criticism of the President is spot on. I didn't like his old show but I have been listening since 2016 and the guy taking down the president a peg or two is exactly why he is so good. Sorry if you geezers get your panties in a bunch about it but things aren't going back to the old days. Even every day Americans can see that the the way this country is headed is wrong.

    Shame on all of you!

    1. Ahh yes, keep the dream of Air America alive. The commercial support just isn't there in the long run. BZ has held some pretty good ratings, but they really had no competition. They took this as verification of the prog direction. Now their chickens are coming home to roost.

  11. LOL. I can tell exactly when he read this post on air. He got all mad and said something nasty about "dumb bloggers" then started bitching about the president again. Guess it's too late for him to change his stripes.

  12. Hopefully if Parks goes so does Dana. I haven't listened to them for over 3 yrs and now that i think about it I switch stations right after EJ & Ellen are over.

That's how horrible BZ's programming is now.

  13. Dana and Parks are like those obnoxious people at a cocktail party who are too loud and laugh too much at their own jokes. Two celebrity wannabes who think a talk radio show in KC is big stuff. What a delusional pair.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The best thing about this is it reminded me of when TKC discovered Stigall's uncanny resemblance to the Nazi villain in one of The Indiana Jones Movies. As for talk radio, the DUMBING DOWN has taken it's toll, it's a waste of time.

  15. ^^^^ True.

  16. I vote NEITHER. No thanks on any of them.

  17. I would rather have Chris Merrill (Voice of Merill)

  18. ^^^^ GOOD CALL!

  19. Stigall wouldn’t want to pair up with that hyenea Dana. Nobody wants to feel dumber at the end of each workday.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think KMBZ FM should change to a CHR/Dance format like 93.5 FM in Miami, FL.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'd listen to a few hours of static if KMBZ would get rid of Parks AND Dana. Especially Dana. She screeches like a banshee.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Here's a novel idea, KMBZ FM could change its call letters to KUDL and play soft rock.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I also hate the way they transition into way too many commercials. Seems like everyone that has a business and hires KMBZ to air commercials has to do work at Dana or Parks house so they can say "they have done work for me". It is endless and mind numbing.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Just play old Mike Murphy shows... if you want entertainment.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The station format changed because the general public (and local listeners) were sick to death of talking partisan politics. There are no winners. Ever. It's boring. It was people tuning into whoever their "preacher" was/is while they sit in their rockers nodding, ay-yup, ay-yup.

Limbaugh and his ilk ran the waves when they blindly supported Palin for VP, who had no business being on that ticket. After that, they failed miserably at swaying enough people to vote Romney over Obama. That was when their time was done. A light was shown on them all. The "kings" of the radio waves had no clothes, or clout. They're irrelevant.

It was fun hearing local people call in to talk about "water cooler" issues both local and national. But, things are definitely changing. I sense that Parks is losing interest. He's definitely off the rails about Trump. Why that single-minded focus? My guess, he quit drinking. As bad as my family wanted my dad to stop being a drunk, he was at his worst during the dry-drunk stages. Parks seems adrift, depressed, disconnected. And if Parks goes, Dana won't stay. She'll have tons of opportunities thrown her way. More so than Scott.

If the 2-9 teams go down, then you can stick a fork in KMBZ and they can take up with the Star under whatever homeless bridge they're residing under. (I really, really do not like being mean but the 10-2 show is just awful. So bad. The station knows it too, the way they front-load with commercials not chancing folks will change channels during a commercial break between the news and traffic and weather.

That's all that idiot talks about is his new found sobriety now that he is getting laid again...I'm guessing his new girl pegs him!

  26. Good call out with PARKS finally he is insane with TDS. ANGRY MAN

    ReplyDelete
  27. Parks still on the air today. What gives?

    ReplyDelete
  28. They talk about the "on air" talent. Does not exist on this station any more. And I agree, waaay too many (snotty) commercials for services and items the average family would never use...unless of course those services and items are comped like I'm sure they are to the KMBZ folks.

  29. i love the dana and parks show

    ReplyDelete
  30. I enjoyed Stigall's show when he was here. If you read the article link and read the comments you will find people whose complaints of him are the same as those they have of Parks: angry, bitter, temper, grumpy.

I would like to see an all woman talk radio lineup for a change. And by that, I don't want just Liberal Women, Inc. or Conservative Women, Inc. I would like to hear more local talk, not shouting. I would like someone like Darla Jaye (like, because she's retired to another part of the country.) I liked the Trend KC's focus more than the GenX politics and issues show in that spot now.
