  5. Why would a malarial low elevation district be a high-rent desirable locale? Goes for river quay and country club plaza. Don’t y’all remember cholera outbreak of 1848??

  6. ^^^^^^

I remember not so long ago in the 90's some people sued the Plaza and won for getting scabies from Brush Creek.

Sly James and another failed attempt to make KC better but the opposite is true. Losing the Steamboat Arabia is a HUGE mistake.

  7. But the steam boat arabia parking lot on west side of grand near 5th was the number one choice for grandmothers from raymore to park the minivan in then take grandkids to ride the streetcar < 2 miles to union station for free and spend no money at all. Because, you know, boosting transit and eco devo is why we spent $102 million on the streetcar! It kicks ass! The metro bus park n ride at 3rd street at grand same thing. 4th and Wyandotte also popular to park a car then hop the sentimentality and nostalgia joy ride.

Embarrassing that our civIc boosters think the streetcar is anything at all.

  11. River Market's going to shit for awhile with a number of smaller shops already leaving. The City's been able to keep that quiet, but now that Arabia and Gascone's are pulling out the genie's out of the bottle.
