The return of a real Winter to Kansas City reveals this town to be completely unprepared for any kind of weather event.
Moreover, ask around and one conclusion is clear:
2019 HAS BEEN ONE OF THE WORST YEARS FOR SNOW & ICE REMOVAL IN RECENT KANSAS CITY HISTORY!!!
There was a lot of hype about "pre-treating" roads today but those efforts didn't make it far outside of the loop and nowhere near neighborhood street. Moreover, the last from the major snow is still mostly on the roads.
Bigger, better cold weather town's don't shut down for the snow but because of years of misplaced priorities, KCMO is forced to cancel just about everything because of typical Winter weather. Snowfalls are nowhere near a record pace.
The scariest thing about this recent spate of Winter weather is a glimpse at how horribly unprepared KCMO has become in coping with average snowfall.

Snow FAIL Buy Local Plea
Winter impacting locally-owned KC businesses
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - No matter what a store carries inside, this winter, it's what's outside that really matters. "When there's a storm coming in and people know it's about to hit we've had a lot of people coming in," said Rachel Scheffler, a store associate at Brookside Toy and Science.
Tragic KCMO City Hall Snow FAIL Betrays Both Humankind And Beasts

SNOW FAIL LIFE LESSON
School districts cancel classes for Wednesday as another round of snow hits the metro
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Another round of snow is falling across the metro. Something all too familiar this winter as we have already received more snow than the last three winters combined. Because of slick road conditions and temperatures, many metro schools canceled classes and activities for Tuesday evening.
Snow Breaks Biz Budgets
Snow creating budget issues for companies, lots of work for contractors
Each time Kansas City sees 2 or more inches of snow, it becomes a busy time for contractors clearing parking lots and takes a toll on those paying for it.When school districts across the metro close, the Boys & Girls Club opens to families needing a place for children to go."I spend a lot of time on the phone prepping for a school-out day," said Dred Scott, the president of the Kansas City Boys & Girls Club.
KCMO NORTHLAND NEGLECTED!!!
Northland neighborhoods fed up with snow-packed and ice-covered streets
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- With another round of snow coming, Kansas City residents are worried about their neighborhood streets. Some communities in the Northland say they never see snow plows, and the conditions are downright dangerous. Donnie Janssen's Northland neighborhood, Pembrooke Estates near 89th and Indiana, has been an icy, snowy mess just about all winter long.
Golden Ghetto Better Prepared
High-tech bridge in Lenexa built for snow
LENEXA, KS (KCTV) -- It's been a busy winter in the metro. "We're on storm number nine but we keep doing all these anti-icing events," Chip Voigts, who is with Lenexa's Municipal Services, said. Voigts and his team at Lenexa's Municipal Services keep an eye on road conditions with cameras set up across the city.
Snow FAIL Starves Service Industry
Restaurants feeling effects of long winter
"It's just been a pattern, every single weekend, after weekend -- just the same thing with a storm. For us, you don't know how to prepare," said Jasper J. Mirabile Jr. co-owner of Jasper's.
You decide . . .
Kind of scary if you think about some of the worst storms in KC history and how this current administration would have acted.
ReplyDeleteIs Sly even in town? Haven't seen or heard much out of him lately.
Don't get ahead of yourself. Springtime means flood season and in a lot of ways that's much more dangerous than snow. In Winter people tend to stay inside but people always underestimate what their car can do in the rain.
DeleteDoes pre treatmeant mean a lot of trucks riding around with their plows up? Because that's all that I saw today.
DeleteONE OF YOU GEEZERS RUN FOR MAYOR SO WE CAN HAVE A SNOWPLOW ASSIGNED TO EVERY STREET! SNOWPLOWS MADE OF SOLID GOLD!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Rainman,
DeleteSnowplows made of gold is no more clever or funny than shitty diapers, geezers and your other pathetic regurgitation. Next time you see your dad, punch the hell out of him for not pulling out sooner.
FROSTY!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the guy to run for congress so we can see how he really runs up the tab.
Don't worry, airport will be done some time around 2030.
ReplyDeleteThe bright side here is that the students attending KCPS really aren't missing anything in their partially accredited classes. They'll learn more by shoveling.
ReplyDeleteYou can call my ass an old geezer at 45, but the city cleaned up its shit a lot better 20 years ago then it does now . Not just commeting on the snow.
ReplyDelete1116, I bet you cleaned your geezer ass lot better 20 years ago than you do today.
ReplyDeleteSorry pussy snowflake that you don’t understand common sense. But the more you do things the the better you get at it. I know it’s difficult to understand with your public education .
ReplyDeleteRE: KC Pet Project said it is taking in a record number of animals because of the snowstorms.
ReplyDeleteDo the animal shelters offer accommodations for gender-neutral pets? This is a vital question for all residents!
Yes they do. As a matter of fact, boy pets that have had their balls removed are particularly welcome.
DeleteGuess you guys should get together and push for a big tax increase! Snow plows, salt and drivers cost money. Lots of it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a 2% income tax might shut you pussies up once and for all.
Or is whining about it and doing nothing somehow better?
“Snow plows, salt and drivers cost money. Lots of it.” So do toy trains, jazz museums and street name changes. Your prince, Mayor Lardass, and his cronies need to reconsider priorities.
DeleteNope, need to use that tax money for bow ties's pre-K.
ReplyDeleteOh, because the mayor wears bow ties! ROFL! LOL! What wit!
DeleteSo I see whining about it IS better.
And yet another reason that the northland needs to annex ourselves away from kansas city and create our own town. What a worthless mayor.
ReplyDelete^^^ what’s your plan dipshit? Got anything besides hate? Stupid is as stupid does I guess
ReplyDeleteWell, if you read the post it sounds like the plan is to split from KCMO and form their own government.
DeleteNow go potty and don’t forget your coat and helmet if you play outside today.
Why don’t you climb back into bed and suck Joe Turner’s cock you Mizzou faggot?
ReplyDeleteHere: in case you need some jacking off material, here’s your boy hero talking about stoplights.

What's most comical is to hear from clowns like Hernandez about how it';s just impossible to provide decent snow removal (or maintenance, pothole repair, or much of anything else)because of all the "lane-miles" KCMO has, as though that had somehow been imposed on them.
ReplyDeleteWhen you annex property, the law says that you have to provide the same services that are already being provided.
And you're not much of a "big or world class" city if you choose to spend tax money or superficial crap and then complain that you don't have the funds to clear the city of snow.
Don't hear much about de-annexation from this crew.
Just the same old excuses.
It never changes.
@6:21am
ReplyDeleteActually a de-annexation requires a vote of BOTH parties and voters in KCMO would never approve of anyone splitting off.
With the weather the way it is, it's a great time to stay inside and review state statutes.
Especially before making childish comments.
Thank you armchair professor, I’ll jot down the notes before your next pop quiz. Can you also tell us how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop?
DeleteDoes gopher get paid overtime when the big guy makes him stay up and post all night? Inquiring taxpayers need to know.
ReplyDeleteNot in money. But in sweet love, that chocolate thunder from down under.
DeleteGopher boi was bloviating on the news about KCMO starting with 13000 tons of salt and KCMO had to get an additional 10000 tons. While bloviating he was uncontrollably shuddering because KCMO had to spend money that Slie could have given to developers.
ReplyDeleteDoes he still have that weird hair that looks like it was singed in a fire?
DeleteStreetcar is running great! Come on down for a free ride!
ReplyDeleteToot Toot! All Aboard!
ReplyDeleteNext Stop! Thou Mayest!
McBrushy is keepin' the streetcar running smooooooth! Come on down and have an artisan bagel! Then a foam face Latte!
ReplyDelete8:10 sLIE foams your face mcbrushy! Now get back to it! Hahahahaha!
ReplyDeletePlow went down my street at 7:30AM. East KC MO. Don't know what the rest of you pussy snowflakes are bitching about. Isn't snow clearing a form of socialism? I thought you geriatric fucktards didn't like socialism? How about you complaining fucks get your lazy asses out of bed and shovel your own fuckin streets! How about that????
ReplyDeleteThat's the actual function of a local government. To plow and fix the roads that we pay these excessive taxes for. BTW, snowflake is a Republican term. Just one more thing you limp dick liberals have to steal from us. Fuck socialism and fuck you!!
DeleteInteresting idea. How much of a reduction in property taxes will we get if we do the city's job for them?
ReplyDelete^^None. If you have time to piss and moan on here all day, you have time to shovel your fucking street! Here's a clue for you: Matlock is a rerun today anyway! Now get to work and quit bitching.
ReplyDelete10:32 nails it
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhh! Gopher is triggered!
ReplyDelete^^^Ohhhhh! Your diaper is full.
ReplyDelete^^^ since your a matlock aficionado, tell me what time it comes on before I miss another show, I love matlock❤️❤️❤️
ReplyDelete9:34 Ohhhhh! Come clean my diaper boy, you’re late again, now bitch, before matlock comes on!
ReplyDeleteCity hall minions don’t like to admit that that are failures! Don’t worry, we all know, NOW DO SOME DAMN WORK!
ReplyDeleteActually, @6:49, you are completely wrong!
ReplyDeleteThe Missouri Supreme Court decisions relating to the few similar de-annexations that have occurred did not require a approval vote by both parties.
The Court in all three instances has taken the position that the residents within the City that annexed the land made their desires known at the time of annexation, and since the residents of the annexed land did not have a vote until the 1980 Constitutional Amendments required approval by both parties, only a vote in the annexed area is now required.
Should the petition process ever bring this question to a vote, that voting would be restricted to the residents living in the Northland, and a simple majority of those residents could accomplish the de-annexation. If that happened, the Court would then appoint a Panel to monitor and arbitrate the de-annexation process.
The Northland area would then have the option of forming their own Municipality or of merging with any adjoining Municipality.
The voters of KCMO south of the River would have no say in the matter, just as the residents north had no say in 1951, and hopefully the Southland residents could wave bye-bye as half their land, about 40% of their population and 63%-65% of their City revenues went away.
^^^Wow. Thanks for that...whatever that was. You must be really, really, bored. Bored and lonely. So lonely.
ReplyDeleteBut could a charter city prevent it from happening? De annexation. To the analysis at 10:00 ..... and don’t listen to 10:21nitwit, we appreciate some worthy comments.
ReplyDeletethanks,
Radish
^^no we don't. We only appreciate racist, homophobic, and misogynistic posts around here. So what are you going to do with all this "valuable" info Radish???...........Crickets........thought so.
ReplyDelete8:50 everybody knows that you live on prospect and it’s continuisly plowed by the trucks running back and forth the the water dept. according to the snow plow map, the real eastside hasn’t been touched so..... go ahead, look for yourself, if you can pull yourself away from all that hard work at shitty hall that is.
ReplyDelete^^^But, but, but, the plows...the plows....poor little snowflake! You're melting down! Do you need a safe space??? I want the gubmit to take care of me!!! Whaaaaaa! Whaaaa! Please gubmit, plow my street!!!! Whaaaa!!!
ReplyDelete^^^^^^Ignorant and triggered. So triggered.
ReplyDelete@ 10:29, amid all the gnat buzzing and feeble self-hatred motivated criticism flying around, I think you asked a question, so I'll try to answer.
ReplyDeleteOne of the three instances of de-annexation that have occurred in Missouri, one involved an "unnamed" Charter City (located to the east of here, directly west of East St. Louis), so my guess (please note, guess)would be that KCMO couldn't successfully prohibit such a de-annexation, although they could probably delay it by using one of their pet judges, but in any case the Supreme Court would most probably have to have the final say anyway. The Court still usually follows its own precedents though.
If the Star were to still be in existence, I'm having a lot of fun imagining the Editorial Furor that would ensue.
^Hey 1:01PM, pro tip: NOBODY CARES!!!!!!
ReplyDelete^^^^Irrelevant. So irrelevant.
ReplyDelete^^Lonely. So lonely.
ReplyDeleteThere haven't been any reports of fatalities on the streets today. I'm just glad people were able to make it to work safely. Hopefully, they will get back home without an trouble as well.
