Evening bad news unseen by locals coping with the threat of severe home damage during this cold spell and one more on the way. Take a look:
KCP&L: Some customers may not have power restored until Thursday
Officials with Kansas City Power & Light say efforts to end power outages are slow going due to downed limbs and trees that are giving repair crews a challenge. As crews continue to see widespread damage across the area, KCP&L said it's now looking like some customers may not see power restored until Thursday.
How could a midwestern city possibly be expected to be prepared for 7 inches of snow?
ReplyDeleteAnother inch and we would have to be under a state of emergency with the Natty Guard rolling in.
Too optimistic... Saturday is more like it and they know it.
ReplyDeleteSo do officials lose all credibility if it’s Saturday ?
It's been a long time since KCP&l has had this bad a response. Betcha all the execs and bosses have power.
ReplyDeleteI was out Sunday and saw KCP&L trucks in ditches all over the real eastside, I measured 11” of snow over there. People that work indoors have no idea how dangerous and hard it is to work in those conditions. Next to impossible. Cut them some slack.
ReplyDeleteThe KCPL guys are heroes in my book. They have to fight their way through overgrown yards to re-string the power lines. The people on the front line are to be commended as they work with an antiquated power system made more difficult by property owners who don't trim their trees. Thanks, KCPL linemen.
ReplyDeleteKCPL drivers probably need to take the winter driving courses city drivers take.
