TKC EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEEK!!! PLAGUED BY POLITICAL TURMOIL: JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE VOTES ON NOMINEE FOR SHERIFF TONIGHT!!!

The last guy who held the office awaits a legal battle after widely known deets about alleged threeway employee patronage finally hit the MSM.

And now . . .

OUR TKC BLOG COMMUNITY EXPLAINS SOME OF THE SORDID POLITICS BEHIND THE SCENES OF TONIGHT'S JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE VOTE FOR THE NEXT SHERIFF!!!

Reality: The guy who wins tonight pretty much has the job given that a Republican candidate hasn't come close in modern history.

And so, here's a quick breakdown of the politics as we welcome readers to share insights and make predictions:

INTERIM CHIEF FORTÉ IS THE FRONT RUNNER BUT HE HAS ALREADY MADE ENEMIES WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT AND HASN'T DEMONSTRATED MUCH SKILL AS A POLITICIAN

During his short but combative tenure he has called out the former Sheriff and demanded his gun back via MSM. Also, he has raged against Sheriff's department time sheet problems and employees in order to deflect widespread criticism of his own overtime questions at KCPD.

To be fair, the Interim Sheriff has worked to better inform the public and held several "meet & greets" sessions that weren't just campaign events.

There's no denying that the Interim Sheriff should have the votes to get the nomination. However, critics claim that tonight's selection is part of a rigged effort and this new role could prove disastrous for the County. Maybe even worse than the sex scandal that took down the last guy . . . But probably not as entertaining . . .

MIKE ROGERS HOLDS AN EASTERN JACK VOTING BLOC, POLICE SUPPORT AND VOTES WITHIN THE CORRIDOR

Here's an EXCLUSIVE interesting preview . . .

SUPPORTERS OF MIKE ROGERS PLAN A RALLY TONIGHT IN FRONT OF THE COURTHOUSE TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT FOR THE LONGTIME SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT VETERAN!!!

This candidate has the most grassroots appeal and his supporters are making the case to Midtown members of the committee to abandon the usual allegiances and support the low key and less controversial choice.

DON'T OVERLOOK MISSOURI FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE PREZ RICK INGLIMA - HIS CREDIBLE CANDIDACY COULD UNDERMINE VOTES FOR ROGERS

There are a few critics who say Sgt. Rick Inglima is a spoiler but that downplays his serious credentials and work in law enforcement. He's late to the game but deserves consideration given his practical experience and political acumen. TKC broke news of his candidacy over the weekend and since that time he has garnered a surprising level of support.

MONA, MONA - A FEW LATINO VOTES LIKELY WON'T SUPPORT INTERIM SHERIFF FORTÉ AND WILL BE WASTED

The vote is gonna be close and I'm actually disappointed that nobody reached out to the seniors who control the small Latino bloc. Because of that they're going to vote for Mona and lean against the Interim Sheriff because of a great deal of nasty gossip circulating . . . Credit where it's due, their prejudice on the matter signals some very tough talk behind the scenes.

TONIGHT'S VOTE IS CRITICAL FOR EXEC FRANK WHITE

Interim Sheriff Forté is Exec Frank White's political ally and secret to success. A Forté win signals progress for Exec White and more political capital moving forward. If the former Chief is defeated, Exec White will be rendered virtually powerless. With so much on the line, we would expect the Exec to play a more active role but behind the scenes we hear that he's avoiding work for the final push today which could be a big mistake.

MORE COUNTY CONTROVERSY AWAITS . . .

If we're lucky, nobody gets choked tonight and the meeting is uneventful . . . Still, with a new jail on the horizon and continued contentious debate among a bloc of legislators, this selection isn't going to resolve so many of the divisive issues that still confront denizens of the Courthouse.

Forte wins but it won't hold up in court.

  2. ^^^^^^^^^^^ learn to count. Forte needs a lot of votes tonight and he doesn't have them all even after the coup to get him ahead of the line. I think his negative comments about the department have scared people who would have otherwise supported him. The next sheriff is going to have a big role in a new jail that'll cost 50 million minimum. Putting forte in that situation would be insane and a recipe for disaster.

  3. So a bunch of clueless political hacks making decisions about law enforcement management.
    What could possibly go wrong?
Maybe the new sheriff can get some construction project tips about the jail from Jolie Justus and the gang at 12th and Oak.
Dig deep in those pockets JaCo taxpayers!

  4. Why don't you consult with those prick Eastern Jackson County lawyers. You can catch em talking smack around the Independence Courthouse.

  5. It amazes me the stupidity of so many people in this city. Forte has the credentials and experience to apply and be a serious contender for any Chief of Sheriff position in the nation! Rogers and Inglema would never make it to an interview. If you think otherwise and consider those two are more qualified than Forte you are either racist, a Trump deplorable or a special kind of stupid!

    1. Not racist, not deplorable, not stupid...Just informed. Look what his reign did to KCPD, they are still recovering from that debacle of no leadership, rampant favoritism, and absolutely no backing of the rank and file. If you really believe otherwise then YOU are a special kind of stupid.

    2. ^^^Bishop and Corwin did way more damage than Forte. I’m not saying Forte is a Saint but a lot of the animosity against Forte is because he tried to increase minority representation in the department and fired a bunch of people that shouldn’t have been cops!

  6. Rogers was interviewed for Sheriff position and was a finalist. Of course Frank played the race card & picked someone who will play ball. All law enforcement unions are with Rogers including KC who know Forte best .

    1. Rogers was only interviewed because Sharp called in some favors! Labor once supported Bullard and that didn’t go well. Inglema is just in the race to help Rogers! Rogers was and still is part of the problem at the department. He really needs to be fired!

  7. Let's see what the Democratic Party is about tonight. Do they bow down to labor who has been bankrolling Republicans for the last 20 years and helped them get in power or do they nominate the most qualified law enforcement manager who could be the first African American Sheriff elected in Jackson County Missouri. Hey committee members, they aren't saying it out loud but the support of the two white guys over a more qualified black guy is being fueled by the simple anti-black, racist history of eastern Jackson County. You are not the republican Trump, racist party. You are the Democratic Party! Do the right thing.

    1. Black privelige on display here, folks: the only accomplishment you need is your skin color, and you can always blame racism for your failure and incompetence.

    2. Forté is not qualified to be sheriff and was not qualified to be police chief. If he was white, nobody would give him any consideration.

  8. ^^But since you are nobody, just a big mouth yapping, that won't happen will it?

As long as a wonderful Black man gets the job. Non-White leadership, combined with Big Sonia Day (thanks Heather Hall) will make Kansas City a safe healthy place to raise a family ! Because cultural enrichment is what we need more than ever ! Right ?

  10. A sheriff is different than a city police chief. Different roles. Forte doesn’t even know what he’s supposed to do as sheriff. He was a horrible chief, he’ll be worse as a sheriff.

  11. Either one of the white guys would be ok

  12. If Forte gets the Democratic nod, the Republican will take him in the general. He is a Hispanic former G-Man in Kansas City. Name is Bernal.

  13. End this crap and put in a Republican. They base their success on what they stop or fix, Demoncrats just want to help you
along by holding the criminals hand.

  14. " a great deal of nasty gossip circulating . . . Credit where it's due, their prejudice on the matter signals some very tough talk behind the scenes."

Where are the facts to support these allegations?

  15. Forte is a worthless idiot, you’ll regret letting him stay, that’s a promise

    ReplyDelete
  16. NO to Forte!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Frank White and Daryl Forte what a great combination! One will run the county out of money and one will be riding into the sunset on a Harley with the saddle bags stuffed with overtime cash for time not worked. Congratulations JAXCO, screwed again!

  18. How's the retirement checks "Darylicious"? Hopefully your spending wisely since there is no Comp Time payout for you during this gig. Rumor is your bringing on your Boy-Hundley? Any comments on this latest rumor?????
