Lots of into from the Courthouse is coming in, here's the main points we think are fair to highlight . . .
What was the victory in the opening rounds???
There was a motion to dismiss that was DENIED. Insiders believe that's a good sign and overall helps move the case forward.
As we noted previously . . . The case is ongoing.
Next hearing is set for August 2nd at 3 in the PM.
Team Frank:
"Lawsuit is about who selects the candidates on November ballot (County Committees vs Primary Election). Not about County Executive's interim appointment of Sheriff Forté."
To be fair, to our blog community, the commentary about the Sheriff realizes that the legal world doesn't live in a bubble and the recent actions & rhetoric of the Interim Sheriff have an impact on the case and the public attitudes about the office.
We've cleaned up one or two deets in the 1st post on this topic and absolutely appreciate insiders getting back to us.
Here's another UPDATE after TKC FIRST NEWS . . .
KCUR: Democrats Say Primary For Jackson County Sheriff Is Unlawful
Developing . . .

it goes beyond rhetoric. The language the INTERIM Sheriff is using is absolutely unprofessional and damaging to the department. Do we really need this guy in charge of another local department?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely nothing resolved or will be resolved. The county continues to be a mess no matter who is in charge.

ReplyDeleteJust like is said about the furious infighting among the faculty of a small obscure liberal arts college.
ReplyDeleteWhy is the fighting so vicious?
Because the stakes are so low!
Jackson County sheriff?
You've got to be kidding me.
How many tax dollars are going to be wasted on this farce?
Don't know Missouri law personally but in Kansas if an elected official vacates their position and is, such as this case, a democrat, then the elected democrat precinct committee people have a meeting and elect a new person to fill the remaining term. Vote for your precinct committee representatives in the August election.
