TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! OUSTED!?! JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE LAWSUIT AGAINST INTERIM SHERIFF FORTÉ APPOINTMENT STAYS WINNING!!!

Amid upcoming elections, a critical debate against a recent law enforcement appointment once again has the Jackson County political scene in turmoil.

First and foremost we want to thank AWESOME COURTHOUSE INSIDERS for their help with this story . . . We were sending out messages and calls late into the night and we're grateful for the help we've received in hashing this story out FIRST before all Kansas City media.

Now, remember that our blog community BROKE THE STORY regarding the Jackson County Democratic Committee launching a lawsuit against Frank White's appointment of the interim Sheriff.

Here's the update . . .

INSIDERS REVEAL THE LAWSUIT CHALLENGING THE AUTHORITY OF INTERIM SHERIFF FORTÉ STAYS WINNING THE OPEN ROUNDS OF THEIR ARGUMENT AND THREATENS TO DEPOSE THE KANSAS CITY LAWMAN & NIX THE ELECTION!!!

Behind the scenes, this legal move is important for a lot of reasons but these three stand out . . .

- Interim Sheriff Forté is the 1st African-American leader of the Department and his tenure has already been tumultuous. His campaign is already playing on local racial lines and one INSIDER noted: "It really seems like he's trying to start a race war in Jackson County and that's just plain stupid."

- The Interim Sheriff running as a reformer and throwing nearly all of his colleagues under the bus with a campaign calling out ALLEGED law enforcement corruption by way of otherwise mundane worker time sheet practices.

- Now, we've reached out to JaxCo Democratic Insiders on the recent ruling and they don't deny it but they're staying mum for the moment. Meanwhile, Eastern Jackson County Democrats are clearly worried about the alliance betwixt Exec Frank White & his appointee but even insiders acknowledge the long shot complaint has some merit.

Again, here is AN EXCLUSIVE TKC FIRST view of the argument and a look at the money line their case . . .

"Jackson County government officials are without legal authority to open or reopen a candidate filing period when a vacancy in the Office Of Sheriff is not created by the death, withdrawal or disqualification of any incumbent or any candidate who has filed a declaration of candidacy for said office: enter judgement declaring that when a vacancy in the office of Sheriff is created due to resignation of the incumbent Sheriff on a date after the filing deadline for any primary election but prior to the next general election, the party nominating committee may select a party candidate for election to the office; and for any further relief the Court deems necessary."

And so, the recent victory seems to affirm the contention that the Jackson County Democratic Committee & NOT Exec Frank White are responsible for the appointment. Once again, Exec White's lack of respect for courthouse procedure is apparent and has caused a critical local tumult.

What we know for sure is that the court battle on this topic will continue. What's worse is that Exec Frank White has shown disdain for obeying mandates from his colleagues and we're sure to see allegations of discrimination that may or may not have merit.

In the meantime, ithe courts will have the last word on who occupies the office of Jackson County Sheriff's office as an EPIC change is underway.

  1. My gosh Jackson County is a mess. But I think the committee should have voiced the disagreement during the selection process, it looks like revenge against both Forte & Frank.

    1. Gotta love these last minute power moves before the primary. If voters were smart they would pikc somebody, anybody else.

    2. Not even sure it's Frank who loves fighting with the Legislature and other democrats so much. In a lot of ways I think he just gets used by people around him and let's them get him into trouble. Mike had some of the same problems.

    3. Yes this is a mess but the Jackson County Democratic Committee is doing the right thing here by taking their complaints to the courts rather than the press. They knew what Frank did was wrong and they told him as much, obviously he didn't care because he is counting on his popualrity winning him every election. That might be true but his celebrity isn't worth much if he's now known for creating such discord at the County.

    4. ^^^^ Some of that is accurate but let's not forget that it was Mike Sanders who got us here.

  2. As usual in Jackson County and KCMO, the issue is NEVER finding the most qualified person or doing the best job at serving the public.
Instead, it's ALWAYS about who gets the keys to the taxpayers' money.
What a truly sad bunch of people.

  3. Shut down the county, start over. It's obviously not going to get any better until we clean house and elected a lot of NEW people.

  7. Jackson County needs a colonoscopy done to during the elections. I mean everyone from top to bottom needs to be out.

Flush it all out and run the plumbers snake up every crack and crevice to rid it of every filth. The taxpayers out there have to say enough's enough.

  8. The corrupt Jackson County Democrats don't want an outsider exposing them.
