I would rather hire a felon than a millennial or a queer anyway.

If you hire a scumbag with a record, unknowingly because of this, and he hurts someone YOU are the one who will get used.

Can a FICO score, as an indicator of reliability, be used in hiring? Would that exclude too many people who are good?

In some European countries, hiring starts as probationary or part-time as a form of extended hiring review. Of course, it's hard to fire people over there.

In general, rigidities hurt employees overall in the long term. USA is more dynamic thsn Europe and it's easier both to get a job and to get fired, but that makes for a stronger private sector.

Ban the Box will bring lawsuits against employers when they put their other workers in harm’s way by hiring dangerous felons.
