TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! COURTHOUSE INSIDERS TALKING JACKSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE FRANK WHITE RESIGNATION!!!

While Exec Frank White is one of the most popular elected officials in the greater Kansas City area and still regarded as a local celebrity by baseball fans, within the confines of the Jackson County Courthouse and the local political scene, he has become pariah amid vicious disputes with his colleges.

To wit . . .

BEHIND THE SCENES COURTHOUSE INSIDERS REVEAL THAT THE PROBLEMS CONFRONTING FRANK WHITE ARE MORE SERIOUS THAN LOCAL PLEBS READING THE NEWSPAPER UNDERSTAND AND HIS ADMINISTRATION IS THREATENED BY GROWING DISCUSSION OF HIS RESIGNATION!!!

There are two facets of resignation talk . . .

Exec Frank White's home foreclosure scares are more complicated than most voters understand. Our blog community first pointed out the politico's foreclosure problems back in 2016 when his team could get by with calling it a "paper-work" error. Now, fanboy payments, sketchy finances and more financial trouble have tarnished the political reputation of Exec White and pose a risk to his future as an elected official.

Real talk: Politicos who have problems with their personal finances make for easy targets.

And then . . .

The rampant shifting of County funds amid losing control of COMBAT has insiders growing increasingly concerned. Already, Exec Frank White has withstood well-documented public embarrassment when a memo detailing six transfers of funds under $10,000 was made public and his chief aide was called out over a pricey truck.

Remember that transfers for any amount under $10K don't require approval from the Legislature. The questionable fund-shift practice basically keeps "Team Frank" running as his colleagues have continued their funding attacks against the top office at the courthouse.

When the topic of sketchy financial moves comes up , Exec  White usually goes into attack mode against the Legislature and calls out their ethics . . . However, public push back over a job Frank White's son recently earned at the ATA usually quiets the Exec's claim on the moral high ground.

TKC Reality Check: Team Frank is emboldened by low voter turnout and public disinterest in County politics. They, correctly, believe that most people think of Exec Frank White as nothing more than a local government figurehead and a beloved former Kansas City Royals star.

While that assumption is probably correct, let's not forget that his political opposition are experts at operating within the byzantine confines of County government and they have thwarted his administration at every turn. Meanwhile, Team Frank has only been able to respond with a few campaign finance hit pieces picked up by KSHB . . . And, to their credit, they're working to benefit from the take down of the Sheriff over old (kinky) news.

And so . . .

What we can document FIRST for our blog community is that opposition against the County Exec has become increasingly emboldened over the past week and the believe his tenure will end with resignation and/or election defeat despite his former baseball glory.

Developing . . .

  1. the 1985 team is old news, people need to get over it.

The county has some major challenges and voters should stop living in the past. It's insane to think that just because some guy was really great at catching a ball, that he's entitled to run a government agency in charge of millions. Will he resign? Hopefully. What really happened here as a failure of county leaders to run a decent opposition candidate.

    1. Frank probably won't resign, but Crystal is going to lose big and that should send the right message about Frank's popularity and it's power over elections.

  2. No way he resigns. He needs the money and where else would be better to grift than the KC govt? He's part of the machine now. Cleaver, Sly, Reed, and the Jazz District committee are showing him how to steal taxpayer money. If anyone dare question it just call them racist to shut them up.

  3. Frank won't resign because:
    1) he needs the money
    2) Caleb hasn't told him to
    3) he (probably correctly) assumes he will be reelected

Yes, things are falling apart at the county but the general public doesn't know or care enough to demand change and accountability.

  4. Frank has made the classic bad manager's mistake in believing those around him that kiss his but and tell hi m how great he is. Heenosey, Clifford and Jeffries to name 3. They are all only in it for themselves, but he is too lazy and incompetent so he just lets them do all of the work, and they will ruin him at best, send him to prison at worst.

  5. I think Frank’s resignation may be motivated by the FBI investigation looking at his finances including the sham deal to save his house from foreclosure and questions about whether he is hiding cash income from the IRS and Missouri Department of Revenue. A parallel investigation by Jean Peters-Baker also includes whether he lied on his campaign disclosure forms. If I were him I would definitely get out. Besides all of that Caleb Clifford has burned the bridges to most of Frank’s previous supporters. Sad story of a local hero who can’t seem to get out of his own way.

    1. Frank is bringing in Darryl Forte to give him expert advice on scamming money and getting away with it.

  6. Frank has got problems worse than politics. Too bad, he would have been a better leader if he would have got better advice.

  7. Take the money he owes on his house of of his last check and send it to the debt collectors.

  8. 11:03 Hits the nail on the head. Frank has closed himself off from everyone, but his circle of awful, self-serving, ass-kissing advisors. Caleb Clifford and Angie Jeffries are all about themselves. He's a weasel; she's a drunk. Both are not even remotely qualified to be running the whole show, but Frank has given them free reign.

What Frank needs is someone to kick his ass not kiss it.

    1. Weren't Caleb and Angie cut out of the budget? How are they still around?

  9. tkc is right on as usual, frank was able to trap the sheriff in deposition that led to his resignation. the political payback is now pressure to resign or get removed by the prosecutor over his campaign sworn declaration that his taxes are paid , this removal will happen before he picks the new sheriff

  10. 4:28 is correct. Baker's hand is forced. She simply has to enforce the rule of law and remove Frank. Otherwise it is all on her.

  11. Just fire his stupid ass and be done with him. Fire Mean Jean while you are at it, she is just as worthless.
