TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! JACKSON COUNTY INSIDER: ALL ABOARD THE KCATA PATRONAGE BANDWAGON WITH EXEC FRANK WHITE QUESTIONS!!!

We should have went with this one earlier in the afternoon. It's buried in the newspaper where it will never be seen but here's a far better take on the story that offers more persepctive and detail than any other Kansas City media outlet.

Take a look . . .

JACKSON COUNTY INSIDERS RAGE OVER CUSHY NEW KCATA JOB CREATED FOR FRANK WHITE III!!!

Check the deets and the testimony . . .

Frank White III's linkedin page verifies he now works for the KCATA . . .

"Under its new head, the previously apolitical KCATA has just officially crossed the line into the world of backroom political deal making and messy conflicts of interest. The KCATA has just hired Frank White's son to be its new head of "community outreach" (a brand new position created just in time for both Franks) at over $85,000 per year. Conflicts and questions are being asked by everyone who has heard about the new pair of golden handcuffs that were created to now bind Frank (the dad) to the new head of the KCATA through good old-fashioned patronage payola.

"After all, Frank (the dad) recently just appointed one of the directors or bosses at the KCATA, then they just happened to turn around and hire Frank (the son) at a huge fee for a "brand new" position that somehow the place has managed to function without for generations before, but now merits $85,000 a year in sweet taxpayer cash. Is there any doubt that the position would never have been created, or that Frank (the son) would never have been hired unless Frank (the dad) was just elected executive? Also interesting that under Makinin the ATA can't seem to hire a new employee or even sneeze without a press release, yet somehow he "forgot" to announce that he just hired the son of a prominent politician who just so happens to vote on his own job contract. I'm sure this was just a simple oversight, and not an attempt by White or Makinin to hide anything potentially scandalous going on.

I"t should surprise nobody that the new head, Robbie Makinin's, only real previous job qualifications to head up this important post was working as a political hack and deal maker for Jackson County. Looks like Jackson County-style deal making, pad jobs for connected family members, and ignoring of blatant conflicts of interest is alive and well under the new regime at the ATA."

  10. Nothing new here, a page taken right out of the Chicago school of government.

  11. This should not be a surprise. Hell, every coon working in government gets their kin folks jobs on the tax payers nickel. This is what they call equality in libtard land.

  12. ol frank is feverishly trying to create a nicely payed spot for willie aikens.
he'll probably be the super of the new coon- baseball complex.

  13. Read The Star article. Sounds like Makinen graduated from the Mike Sanders school of political Bullshit speak. What's so enraging about this crap is its being done on the taxpayers dime and they think we're a bunch of pumpkins buying this Bullshit.

  14. I live in Clay County. I think we're supposed to have some say in how the transportation association is run. I hope I hear our electeds have something to say about this, like, "Fuck no".

    ReplyDelete
  15. Holy shit that Makinen is a fucking corrupt tool. Frank 3 should be fired, Makinen should be investigated, Frank 2 should be recalled. This would make Pendergast blush.

  16. This is exactly why there'll never be a regional public transit system and why elected officials throughout the region have nothing serious to do with the clowns in Jackson County or KCMO.
They've learned to count their fingers after shaking hands with these clowns and watch the JaCo and KCMO taxpayers get fleeced over and over again, and then re-elect the same crap repeatedly.
Be sure to vote to renew the e-tax.
It's more important than ever and there are lots of really neat new toys the the electeds just can't wait to get their hands on with YOUR money.

  17. Either the KCATA needs to fire Makinen, or it needs to be disbanded.

    ReplyDelete
  18. When is someone going to look into the kickback money Makinin got for Michael Short on the Rock Island? Someone needs to contact the FBI.

  19. BTW, as TKC mentioned then quickly discounted is that the newspaper, not TKC broke the story. http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article68305847.html

  21. Frank White is a good guy, he can do better.

Is there any alternative to vote against him? Can we still talk Tarwater into running?

  22. Clean up the county. Or shut it down.

  23. Kansas City is such a fuckin' slime pit.

It would be as notorious as Chicago if anyone had actually ever heard of it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. ^^^ Sad but true.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Makinen is a slimy piece of shit to put that on Frank. Frank needs to distance himself from that guy before he brings him down.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I read a lot of bullshit on this site, but this is really really bad. Maybe Makinen should have another stroke.

  27. This is always how the poor struggling residents on the East side get "sold out" when politicians who supposedly are to represent issues and community needs---- put their hands out for personal financial gain for themselves, their minimally qualified family members and friends. Look at who gets important jobs and if they are African American---they are almost always "connected to" just a few families while the East side continues to be neglected.

Mr. White, when you were appointed many people who work in the county where encouraged by the fact that you were not one of the persons that helped make up the corrupt administration and lawyers of Jackson County. Now, Robbie, who I have always liked, reeled you in. He has stabbed you in your ethical heart. You can no longer say you are not like them. I suppose now that Skippy will become the attorney for the KCATA and The Rock Island Rail authority. I go by their office (Rock Island) everyday and there is no one there. I suspect that after either the filing or primary dates have past, Calvin and the Crew will magically get jobs at Rock Island, Skippy will be their Lawyer and all will live happy in a White House at the Lake. Mr. White, don't you realize the FBI is still making a case against Skippy. They are still talking to people who work or worked there. Don't you realize that once they sit Skippy in a room he will sing, sing, and sing, and they will not get him to shut up. I am so sorry for you. It is nice to take care of your child, but not at the expense of your ethics and morality.

  30. Seriously? You people voted a ball player, A BALL PLAYER, to a political office. Now is not the time to complain about corruption. Voters made the decision. You get what you get when you cast voted for people based on entertainment values. Voters are dummer than ball players apparently.

    ReplyDelete
  31. OK Tony. Now that you kissed Dan Tarwaters' ass by going down the road with this story (which by the way was written by Mike "Gonzo" Hendricks), we're sure he'll give you a cookie for being a good boy.

    ReplyDelete
  32. There's a lot of under the table crap going on at the ATA. I just hope it lasts another 5 years before they complete their task of killing the union and going to privatization. That's the last thing this city needs. Wages will go down and fares will go up.
