TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! BEHIND THE SCENES: BURNS & MAC SUPPORTERS TARGET KANSAS CITY POWER PLAYER BRIDGETTE WILLIAMS AMID RAGE OVER BUSTED BID!!!

The Kansas City new airport selection process continues to devolve into a political circus and now things are getting personal.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDER HAVE TARGETED POWER PLAYER BRIDGETTE WILLIAMS AMID THEIR DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO GET BACK IN THE GAME OR DESTROY THE NEW AIRPORT PROPOSAL ALTOGETHER!!!

For those outside of the loop but still want to learn more: Bridgette Williams is a longtime KCMO influencer currently serving as deputy director of the Heavy Constructors Association of Greater Kansas City, Chair of the Kansas City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and, previously, with the Greater Kansas City AFL-CIO.

Before we get into that . . . Even the toughest critics of TKC are giving us a pat on the back for pointing out that Edgemoor wasn't registered to do biz in Missouri and that fact has quietly changed thanks to our blogging.

Now, here's a bit of the argument . .

"The Edgemoor Proposal includes, Bill Clarkson of Clarkson Construction, who also sits on the Board of Directors for the Heavy Contractors Association (HCA). In this $1 billion showdown you can bet Mr. Clarkson wants the project more than anything, placing Bridgette Williams in quite the pickle."

Again, Ms. Williams is connected to the Heavies.

THIS DOES NOT PROVE A CONFLICT but it shows a connection that supporters of Burns & Mac are willing to exploit for political gain as the process heads before Council.

More deets on the connection of Ms. Williams to the bidding:

"Many will recall her ascension from the AFL-CIO to the Director of the Heavy Constructors Association involved Edgemoor. As head of the Kansas City AFL-CIO Williams rallied local union leaders to support the Kit Bond Bridge bid involving Clarkson Construction and Edgemoor. Amid the completion of the Kit Bond Bridge, Bridgette Williams received her highly coveted position as Deputy Director at the Heavy Constructors Association."

Accordingly, the work of  Ms. Williams as Chairwoman of the EDC evokes more ire from Burns & Mac supporters who demanded her allegiance and apparently didn't get it.

The conclusion from TKC TIPSTERS who side with the so-called "hometown team" . . .

"Our city council is obligated to consider these facts when deciding on the single terminal project. How they didn’t inquire about this deserves answers. Williams has compromised her role at the EDC. Now the Edgemoor project stinks worse than Indian Creek on a hot summer night."

And so . . .

Given MSM complaints about the busted bidding process and behind the scenes arguments against Kansas City economic leaders: Should Kansas City give Burns & Mac another shot??? Or is this 'sour grapes strategy' just a very smart tactic to kill the new airport and garner another "Hometown Team" shot at more than ONE BILLION DOLLARS up for grabs?!?

You decide . . .

  1. Let's play KC inside baseball!

This is how corruption works. And maybe this is why so many people want to forget about the new airport.

  3. The sad fact that in KCMO one "power player" after another turns out to be nothing more than an incompetent amateur clown.
They all get together and tell each other how important they are, but when it comes time to actually take on a serious project or program, they regularly can't find their butts with both hands.
This airport fiasco would be funny, and there are lots of folks around the region and even around the country laughing at how comically inept KCMO is run, if the stakes for the taxpayers and the entire region weren't so high.
    Amateur fantasyland on the plains.

  4. EDC? What more needs to be said. Everyone and anyone who has ever worked there and the city employees who ran the program suck and are deplorables. Great 401K though.

  5. Don't forget her connection to FBI snitch Mike Montgomery in all of this equation. They helped bring Mike Fisher down at the AFL-CIO to pave the way for their ascension. She is corrupt. Evil. And incompetent.

Bridgette Williams is a token filling a position for which she doesn't have the experience to do. I laugh every time I see a woman in a position like this who has never worked on a job site in her life and wouldn't know a form from a piece of dunnage.

  7. I am not necessarily against building a new airport, but no way in hell I am voting for it due to the questionable tactics by so many parties in this mess. City Council needs to start over and quit letting each special interest group determine the rules.

  8. Sour grapes for everyone! No new airport!!!

  9. Affirmative Action, isn't it wonderful?

  10. No surprise here. I see they are duplicating the spin that was recognized on the East Patrol project. The only difference is Burns & Mac are rich and White with the funding and means to sustain a lengthy lawsuit. Pay to play on display. Old Bridgette was in for a kickback, I'm sure. Hope the Feds are taking notice. That's how every project under the Sly James administration has been executed. Somebody feels their way above the law or beyond reproach. **eyeroll**

  11. Vote no in November and shut this whole thing down.

  12. If Jermaine Reed was involved, you know something was done improperly. So, let the chips fall where they may. We don't need a new airport. We need lower water/sewer charges. There's the money that could be used to fix the City's ailing infrastructure problem. But no. Let's use it to build, excuse me, rebuild a new airport that is barely 40 years old. If we threw out everything that was 40 or older - nearly all the Council people would be homeless. Lol

Nope, sorry, still a racist misogynistic piece of shit, keep trying.

  14. Pat Clarke was overheard yesterday saying that no black contractors have been hired for the new airport and something needs to be done about this........ sorry pat, you forgot that there still needs to be a vote first and by the way can anyone name a big contracting firm that is a mwbe contractor? I've been scratching my head over that one

  15. If this so called airport disaster isn't voted down come November it will prove there is no reason what so ever to vote on anything in Kansas City. The voters better get out and take over and stop how money is wasted in Kansas City. New shining things in a falling down high crime town will fix nothing. A new car in a pig pen is still a new car surrounded by pig shit.

  22. Of course corruption exists in KC, but it's like that everywhere. In the meantime, why the fuck would anyone want to send money to Baltimore via Edgemore, keep as much of that shit in KC, even if it goes to B&M.
