Community And Neighborhood Leaders Favor KCPD Major Rick Smith For Top Cop

We've got a lot more on this for the morning update but for now, it's important to note that local leaders are rallying behind KCPD Major Smith as politics behind the scene attempt to influence upcoming public meetings and political horse trading.

South Kansas Gun Rights And The Fight For High Crime Survival

Amid rising crime, the Southland is pushing back and this gunfire confrontation was brutal but it probably saved innocent lives.

Council Dude Scott Taylor Is The Cash King Of The Upcoming Mayoral Race . . . So Far

Big money is already at play for the next Mayoral election and so far 6th District At-Large Councilman Scott Taylor is leading the pack WITH NEARLY $400K IN HIS CAMPAIGN WAR CHEST much to the chagrin of Conservatives and locals pushing their own potential candidates.

As always . . .

This list has been compiled according to scientific TKC polling and market research data and it's a weekly comprehensive guide to local powerful people.

  1. One good pick here.

Otherwise, this is just a diary of how we became Detroit.

  2. ^^^ Detroit is making a comeback. KC is still trying to get on the map. Big difference.

  3. This summer is getting out of control, we've got that damn hotel thing. The corrupt airport and a lot of other B.S. that's just a circle of nonsense like the jail. KC needs to clean house and we need people willing to make sure our leaders are doing their job. That is the only way to turn things around. Sadly, I think think we'll get it when we have nothing but bloggers and media people just looking to stroke their own egos and divide people rather than foster cooperation.

The citizens are about to be fucked again!

  7. There are wo states, eight counties, and 114 municipalities in the region.
Why would anyone choose to live in a city that doesn't even really have a city government that pays the least bit of attention to the needs and priorities of its residents?
The quality of life in KCMO continues to deteriorate at an increasing pace.
Taxes and utility bills continue to rise due to a complete lack of planning, poor management, and the never-ending need for more money in the general fund to pay for subsidies for wealthy corporations and grandiose legacy projects.
Crime continues to increase, with a pace of homicides not seen in the city in decades.
Jackson County services suck and priorities remain upside down.
You don't have to move away.
    Just out of KCMO.
    So many options.
Then you can sit back like the 84% of metro residents who have already made the very good choice of NOT living in KCMO, watch the circus unfold at someone else's expense, shake your head in disbelief, and laugh.
There's even a carnival barker in charge!

  8. We all have a great chance now to finally change things up and have a WHITE mayor and police chief.

KC will almost certainly shoot itself in the foot again.

  9. Hey, the guy has great teeth. What else should matter? The police dept does not report to anyone, does not respond to any citizen, does not worry about what is going on. I am glad that I live in Leawood, where 3 police cars show up when I call. This old white woman appreciates it.

  11. 7:38 comment has got it straight.

Feel bad for the good people who are trapped and can't easily pick-up and move.

  12. I can see the lies dropping off of his lips. Another phony married to a phony wanting to run the city.
