THE KANSAS CITY GO BOND CAMPAIGN RUN OUT OF PHILLY REVEALS LOCAL POLITICOS STILL DESPERATELY MISS THE LEADERSHIP OF CONSULTANT PAT GRAY!!!
Following the tragic passing of the political titan in 2015, City Hall campaigns are more cold and technical with voter turnout continuing to plummet.
And so, here's the first glimpse of Kansas City sinking into more debt . . .
First campaign update for GO Bond Issues
Greetings Council Members,
Some of you asked if you would be provided a weekly campaign update as you did each week for the E Tax. Here is the first one.
You see Mark Nevins of Dover Group on this email list. Mark is the overall campaign coordinator. Even though Mark lives in Philly he is very familiar with Kansas City as he worked on both of the Mayor's campaigns, several local issue campaigns plus was part of the team that elected Dennis Moore to Congress in 1998. As you know Larry Jacob was the lead Dover Group person in KC before taking a job at the Kauffman Foundation
We have 70 days until April 4. So we need to work fast and smart.
We feel good about our chances of passing all three questions. As you already know from the Mayor, our polling shows that, if the election were held today, all three ballot issues have the support they need to pass. However, needing 57% it is close enough that we can't take anything for granted on any question. We need and will run an aggressive campaign and, of course, that means raising the campaign money to do that.
The campaign started prior to final passage of the overall program last Thursday. See attach a generic campaign hand out that is being used by our field team which has been going door to door for the last few weeks. Citizen response has been very good. Now new materials will be printed reflecting the complete package you passed last week.

Our first need from all of you is providing the campaign any and all community meetings where a campaign representative can make a presentation. We will either back you up, if you are speaking, or we will provide a speaker. Our goal is 30 speaking opportunities.
And almost needless to say, we have to raise campaign funds. Each of you may know a possible donor who is not the usual suspect. Please pass on the contact information and how much you believe they might contribute.
Again, we will win and provide this Manager, Mayor, and Council the bond funds to start tackling the infrastructure needs of our city.
Our campaign headquarters is the same as the E Tax campaign----3100 Gilliham Plaza.
The campaign phone number is 816 372 5269. But for all of you please call me on my personal cell phone.

This is how KC became Detroit.
ReplyDeleteReally a shame how they're lumping them all together. Voters don't have to sign up for it all. The 600 million is far too steep.
ReplyDeleteWas Gloriosso also confident about a Hillary Clinton presidency, too? Lots of consultants lost their shirts with that. It's a new day.
ReplyDeleteWhat momentum is that fool Sly talking about?
ReplyDeleteStanding on the outside looking in, all I have seen is the taxpayers being hounded to death for more money that in the end does not take Kansas City anywhere but to the poor house.
"How I Fleeced an Entire City" by S'Lie James
ReplyDeleteDave once again dead on the money.
ReplyDeletehave to admit, it's a good ad. superficial but positive-feeling.
ReplyDeleteA couple months of steady propaganda will, as usual, confuse the voters enough that Glorioso might be right. The "no" side simply does not have the money or organization to counter it.
ReplyDeleteJust how in the hell are we moving forward again? We just supported and passed the E-tax on the premise that the city would have to lay off police officers if it didn't pass. The result is we laid off officers anyways and crime is out of fucking control. Waldo is getting attached and Valentine is patrolling its own streets.
ReplyDeleteFuck this mayor and fuck anyone that supports this bullshit. We get lied to every day about "It's getting better". Vote no until this city does something about the rampant crime.
Ask Steve Glorioso why he's delinquent on his property taxes.
ReplyDeleteAlso ask him how one gets to pay $600 a year in property taxes on a quarter of a million dollar plaza condo.
ReplyDeleteInquiring minds want to know.

Just vote NO,20 year tax increase is to long.
ReplyDeleteVote Yes! Trust your local leadership!
ReplyDeleteLMAO
I will be out to vote NO. Fuck CK and their lawless leader Troy Shitty
ReplyDeleteI am "considering" voting for the GO Broke Bonds. The city fathers are "considering" a lot of projects. They always use CONSIDERING when they mean we will tell you one thing and do another. Remember when you VOTE they are "CONSIDERING". VOTE NO ON GO BROKE BONDS.
ReplyDeleteI have written a letter to my neighborhood association detailing why we should not vote for this tax. Until this city puts money into stopping the crime they shouldn't get another dime. Get on social media, knock on doors and talk to your neighbors. Demand that the city must stop the out of control crime or we vote no!!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry 9:45, there is no profit in stopping crime. No rich developers give politicians campaign contributions because they stop crime. Newspapers don't get tax subsidies because they editorialize about stopping crime. No east side grifter gets a payday if crime goes down. So the easiest thing to do is move. When the middle class who pay the bulk of the taxes all move the poor and tax abated will have no one left to leach off of.
ReplyDeleteGlorioso has a long history of unethical, dirty and dishonest campaigns. The Brice Harris laundering money thru three bogus groups was illegal and prosecuted. Glorioso specialty is to accuse good candidates of improprieties he was involved in. He was Machiavelli to Kay Barnes, Queen of TIF, yet accused a Mike Burke, 2011, opponent of being TIF Queen. Glorioso worked for Burke against Sly in 2011. Then Sly was foolish enough to hire him. Some day all the lies and deception will catch-up to this gang of thieves. Meanwhile, Killa City crime increases and spreads thru the metro area. When the corrupt are in leadership the people suffer.
ReplyDeleteDemocrats be'scammin'.
