  3. He pioneered the placement of campaign signs in front of abandoned homes, right? Sleezeball

  4. If you didn't know him personally, you should keep your judgments to yourself. He was a good man. I worked for him personally on a few campaigns and we didn't place signs in front of abandoned homes....

The old codger pulled some shit in his time, but we love him anyway. Kansas City definitely owes some of its stripes, whether good or bad, to him.

  9. "Pat Gray is a creature of Kansas City politics," strategist Jeff Roe says. "There's no one who knows Kansas City better than he does. You would almost consider him a savant of where to go, where the bodies are buried." - 2011

  14. De mortuis nihil nisi bonum.

So on the good side... The candidates will have an extra 20-25k as they won't have to "hire" Gray.

A prophylactic measure if ever there was one!

    RIP.

  20. Pat was a good man, the people who hate him have no real stake in KCMO. Pat was loyal to this city and he helped voters.

  22. A whore of Babylon!

In a monarchy or tyranny situation, one approaches the ruler with a heavy dose of fearful respect, knowing that person has the power to incarcerate or execute without any trial. In America, our democratic style of government with its division of power prevents one individual from being all-powerful in the eyes of the people. President is the highest office we have and our presidents are mocked and criticized every day without consequence. This makes it particularly difficult for American Christians to grasp what it means to reverentially fear the Lord, but it is a concept we cannot afford to ignore. God demands reverence from us, and we cannot please Him without it. To help us with this, God has provided many accounts in the Old Testament which demonstrate His absolute power over humanity. The plagues and traumas He inflicted on people back then serve to remind us that when we approach God, we are not approaching anything human. While Christians needn’t fear eternal torment in Hell thanks to the work of Jesus on the cross, we still must retain a fearful respect for God in our everyday lives. While we are on earth, we do not exist in a sheltered bubble where nothing is required of us. If we persist in holding irreverent attitudes towards God, treating Him no better than we treat other human beings, He can and will discipline us. He can make our lives quite miserable if need be, and there is no pain He will spare us if it means reviving our sense of reverence.

  23. I didn't like him, thought he'd step on his mother's stomach to get her to cough up her last nickel, thought he'd do anything for a buck, and don't believe he loved KCMO, just that he wanted to milk it.

But hey, the guy is dead. Don't dance on his grave until he's in it.

I just hope this doesn't mean we'll see more of Glori-ho-so.

    RIP.

  24. He seemed like a cool old dude. Perfect? Who is? Politically, he was a master, whether you liked him or hated him - most respected him. My prayers go to his family and others who loved him just for being Pat. As for you fools with your foolish comments ...Pat, via Bobby Knight, says it all -- "When my time on earth is gone ...I want they bury me upside down, and my critics can kiss my ass."

Bobby Knight also said that the kids aren't using the shot fake enough to attack the zone defense.

  26. Don't know him personally, so I reserve judgement.

I begin to understand why media has certain policies regarding reporting deaths when I read the hateful crap many have posted.

Is it really a wrong thing to be kind? Perhaps respectful?

Tony knows exactly what he will get in response to these posts.
