SHOCK!!! HIGH COURT SEYZ KANSAS CITY POLICE CAN CONTINUE TO KILL DOGGIES WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES IN 2017!!!

Throughout the years we've often heard from Kansas City denizens about the slaughter of the pet pooches by local police throughout he metro.

In Kansas City proper, this doggie drama regularly makes the local news but has never really resolved much after investigations NEVER find any reason to follow-up to complaints.

Fuel to the fire . . .

Fox4: Federal court rules police can shoot a dog if it moves or barks when officers enter a home

The most important passage . . .

"A police officer’s use of deadly force against a dog while executing a search warrant to search a home for illegal drug activity is reasonable under the Fourth Amendment when… the dog poses an imminent threat to the officer’s safety."

This case is extreme but the precedent is important for all pet owners.

Remember that just this year a local lady made international news for because her doggie was gunned down.

The doggie struggle is for real out there . . .

'He just murdered my dog!': Woman's beloved pet shot dead by police who came to her doorstep with no explanation

TKC SOLUTION . . .

KEEP DOGGIES SECURED AND AWAY FROM POLICE BECAUSE THEY WILL BE CAPPED WITHOUT MUCH RECOURSE!!!

I think both police and local denizens would agree that a great deal of distance is deserved betwixt barking doggies and cops doing their jobs. While this kind of reality check doesn't do much for efforts to improve "community outreach" it's simply a FACT that time after time reports of police having to cap doggies are constantly broadcast and the tragic situation is repeated because people simply don't know the case law.

This quick reminder is our far more realistic news contribution that might seem callous but only hopes to save the lives of lovable mutts.

You decide . . .

  2. Twice bBitten but never again12/28/16, 12:53 PM

I have been bitten by a dog twice in my life while doing my job. It is no fun and the third time it almost happened was very close. If I hadn't hit the dog over the head with a very large Craftsman screwdriver. The owner was standing right there all the while claiming the dog had never done such a thing before and I wrong for putting it down. They even tried to sue the company I worked for, but they lost the case when the jury felt the dog should have been restrained or locked up while I was there performing the work they wanted done. In the counter suit by the company I work for they won all costs, legal medical my lost time from work and so forth associated with the suit filed by the dogs owners. When a dog is running at you hell bent to an election viciously barking and growling they sure don't want some lovin.

You dog owners know if your pets act funny around strangers and should have enough common sense to restrain the animal so nobody gets bitten and your pet isn't maybe killed.

What dog will not "move or bark" when anyone enters a home?

  6. ^^^ Black labs. That is funny stuff.

As for the dogs. Keep them in line or they will be put down. It's as simple as that.

  7. High Court... you got that right. It seems they can do drugs without recourse and still make decisions on who lives and dies. Fuck the police...and high ass court jesters.

  8. Once upon a time I read meters in KCMO. In the poorer neighborhoods there were lots of folks who had mean dogs. Not because they liked mean dogs but they thought they were protection. I learned very quickly to put something between me and them or face getting bit. PETA would not approve of some evasive tactics taken to prevent being bit.

You have to prove a cop's intent before they are responsible for killing a human being. And proving what is in a person's mind sans a manifesto written in the blood of innocent babes you can dish out lethal force as you please.

The difference between too many cops and criminals is the cops go home at night.

  9. I was a cop over 30 years and shot 5 dogs. In each case they were in a flat out snarling slobbering charge. Not something I liked doing but I wasn't out there to get my privates or legs chewed off by anybody's dog.

  11. Jesus Toneeee! The is so fucking much misinterpretation. conjecture and just plain made up drama bullshit in your article I'm not even going to go there. People should go read what the court actually said and the specific circumstances. The police can not just come on your property and shot your family pet any time they want. Jesus dude. Take your meds already. The only thing that can get shot on a whim are boons and gays, after you drag them into an alley, and that is after January 1st!!! It's in the bible.

    1. Seems like you might need to take your meds if you keep coming to this blog sniffing on what you don't like. Go bother your family on FB. And please keep your dog under control instead of stupidly attacking the police. Be responsible for yourself and don't blame your failed keyboard warrior life on other people. Be good in the New Year. You can do better!

  12. The one and only time I've had the misfortune of seeing a police officer unholster his handgun involved a dog (in KCMO). The dog, which was clearly on a chain, was outside while its owner was playing basketball with a friend in the driveway. The dog starts barking at the cop (shocker, dogs bark at strangers), and the cop immediately draws his gun and points it at the dog. It was one of the most pathetic scenes I've ever witnessed. If you're so afraid of a dog, that is tied up, with the owner standing 10 feet away, you are too scared to be a cop.

As for the legal ruling, I always thought the government was forbidden from taking property without providing due process of law and just compensation. I guess not if the property in question is a dog (you know, "Man's best friend.").

    1. You're lucky you've only seen this once. I've seen it happen over and over in my Volker neighborhood. It's a common story and something that has been ignored over and over again by the police board.

  13. 3:44, my guess is the cop was just getting his weapon ready for use in case the dog somehow got free. There would not be enough time to do it if the dog did charge.

    1. Watch your language. Don't get your cage so easily rattled. Do you need puppy therapy? Think about getting a shelter dog. Take care of it, love it and please keep it away from interfering with officers in the course of their duties. Cheer up. KC is a great place to be!

  17. Most working people get scrapes and scratches here and there but oh no, not cops..a glock will take care of any issue which arises. A group of people unwilling to take any risk without a barrage of lead.

  18. I'm surprised the average officer can hit a moving target. How many clips do they empty before they get the little rascals, I wonder.

  19. Bob, by that fucked up logic, a cop, in this brave new era of ours, should just walk around with gun drawn at all times. After all, the cop doesn't know who's packing with ill intent. He has to have the gun drawn to be prepared for a quick-drawing criminal.
