TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! JACKSON COUNTY EXEC MIKE SANDERS LAYS FATHER TO REST AMID FEW KANSAS CITY INSIDERS PAYING RESPECTS!!!
Sadly, Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders recently started the process of grieving for his father who recently died after a valiant fight with stage IV cancer.
To wit . . .
TKC TIPSTERS TELL US THAT FEW KANSAS CITY INSIDERS ATTENDED RECENT FUNERAL CEREMONIES FOR THE JACKSON COUNTY EXEC'S DAD!!!
In fact, only Rev. Tindall could be spotted in the crowd amid recent Independence, MO mourning events . . .
This topic relates to the public interest if only because the absence of so many elected officials is strange for local power broker who seemingly has connections throughout Missouri. Even the top lieutenants of this Jackson County official skipped the ceremonies from what we've heard . . . Also, amid the upcoming Fall season of death this is important because it shows a change in how people participate in Kansas City politics.
Democracy in Kansas City once had a personal touch and participants generally seemed to have a modicum of respect, even for their opposition . . . Funerals, weddings and other family events often extended invitations into the political world as a real opportunity to take a pause from ideological differences and extend gestures of respect from across the aisle.
The current epoch of social media persuasion has precluded most real world interaction.
Now, like every other online brand, politicos attempt to persuade but don't have a real personal connection with either their constituents or colleagues. And so, again, we extend our condolences to the County Executive and to the old style of Kansas City politics now long gone but not forgotten.

ReplyDeleteBruce Sanders was an out and proud bald man who did not wear a wig.
ReplyDeleteI bet the FBI guys were there.
ReplyDeleteI did not attend because Mr. Sanders was reported to be male. Who the fuck cares when men die. Personally, I believe it should be encouraged.

ReplyDeleteWas it like the funeral in the Godfather with FBI long lens'd cameras?
ReplyDeleteHey! Speaking of dead, what do you call a truckload of dead niggers?
ReplyDeleteA GOOD START!!!
I bet he would have appreciated privacy. Instead, your Number One Denizen ^^^^^ is afforded the opportunity to spew hate.
ReplyDeleteMike has pandered to the KKK types his entire career so 9:18 was probably in the front row of the funeral.
ReplyDeleteDiscerning readers will pleasantly note that this post is particularly well-crafted, as TKC must be operating on a full dose of caffeine and a good nights sleep.
ReplyDeleteDan Tarwater was busy trying to score free tickets to The Chiefs' season home opener so he could not go to the funeral. Now if Jackson County just repealed those stupid ethics rules that ban County Officials from receiving free tickets from the teams, then Dan would have more time to go to funerals or be a legislator and stuff.
ReplyDelete9:43 is probably right.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was a private funeral.
ReplyDeleteNot everyone has to have their mammy blubbering all over the TV screaming what a saint that the deceased was.
Frankly, Mike treated this as a very private matter. If you did not read the obit carefully, you would not connect Mike with it at all. I suspect that many in our political community were unaware of the event until they read it here.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteOK....douchebags, grieving time is over, back to the comedy!
ReplyDeletePHOTO CAPTION (look carefully)
Mike Sanders gets behind some wood, and demonstrates his "Jacks" technique.
Oh yes Byron you worthless prick, acting like you care, what a jack off loser you are.

ReplyDeleteWhite Privilege? HEY!!! I get it now.
Having respect is not bad thing.
ReplyDeleteAt least it did not used to be.
Sorry, nobody showed up because, well
ReplyDeleteNOBODY KNOWS YOU WHEN YOU'RE DOWN AND OUT.
Sanders kept this very private. Some things are not appropriate campaign events.
ReplyDelete3:20 is correct.
ReplyDeleteBurying one's parent is not a political event for scoring points.
We're sorry for the Sanders' family loss.
That guy moonlights as Conan O'Brien
ReplyDeleteNah, it was private because nobody bothered to show up. Explain to us why department heads who did not get word that their presence was unwanted didn't drive to Independence and show respect to their boss. County legislators stayed away. No reps from our local congressman, no sitting council members, Mayor James did arrive late.
ReplyDeleteSanders is radioactive.
Of course, James Tindall was in attendance. Skippy continues to help this fallen politician. At least in the hood, felons know the value of sticking power; a basic instinct that every toddler was born with.

If you're parked on Kansas City's streetcar tracks, expect to see a flier in your car's windshield warning you of future consequences.
3:38 PM Skippy is radio active? So are Jackson County legislators, sitting City Council-members and Sly James.
ReplyDeleteDennis was there. Guess he violated the "don't show up" mandate. So when is Skippy gonna announce his run for Congress? !!
ReplyDeleteLMAO!
It seems that Mr. Funkhouser is a decent fellow. One should not use the dead for personal gain.
ReplyDeleteRespect the dead, regardless of their politics.
I was there and saw all of the legislators there, but Frank White and Bob Spence. Not sure anyone in the family would give two shits anyway, including Mike Sanders himself.
