MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY WATER INFRASTRUCTURE MESS AS RENOWNED ARTIST 'STRETCH' CLAIMS MAYOR SLY DOESN'T CARE ABOUT CROSSROADS!!!

Take a look at the rising tide of local criticism over old and busted water infrastructure as one of the top ranking denizens of Kansas City's creative class shares important pix and accusations directed toward Mayor Sly James.

To wit . . .

TODAY ON TWITTER KANSAS CITY ARTIST 'STRETCH' CALLS OUT MAYOR SLY JAMES OVER OLD AND BUSTED WATER INFRASTRUCTURE PROBLEMS IN THE CROSSROADS THAT CREATED A HUGE MESS LAST NIGHT!!!

Take a look:

STRETCH boldly tweets: "If it's not west of Grand they dont care @KCMODowntown @MayorSlyJames"

Let's put it in perspective that other media can't provide . . . The last time STRETCH openly criticized the Mayor consultants connected to the streetcar championed by the Sly James Administration took to social media in order to organize a boycott of his establishment. Obviously, STRETCH endured the political attacks and now it seems he must contend with the ongoing infrastructure and tax trouble confronting most other businesses in and around Downtown.

  1. What you need to do here TKC is go back and see how supporters of the streetcar promised that the improvements to the underground utilities from the streetcar would benefit all of downtown. Just look at these pictures and it's clear that's not the case.

  2. He's right! What can you say? Sly James is a bandwagon leader. Monkey see, monkey do. Equity is a foreign language to him.

  3. I'm surprised, more like shocked that there hasn't been at least a couple indictments of people involved at the higher levels involved with the streetcar and downtown TDD business as unusual the past four years.

  4. Do you know how many hundreds of miles of water mains there are in KC? No you don't and neither does "Stretch"
Do you know how many water main breaks cause damage each year? No you don't and neither does Stretch.
Do you know how many millions of gallons of water are delivered to how many thousands of customers in KC each month? No you don't and neither does "Stretch."
So none of his privately owned equipment ever breaks down? LOL This is such a non story. Hope you enjoy your free sandwich and he finds something more real to grips about.

    1. All information is readily available through MARC and data inquiry at the KC Public Works, uh...well maybe let's call it 'estimations' instead of information. Unless independent audits are completed soon, the numbers and dates produced can't be reliable or 'unfuzzied'.

6:27 If Stretch's private owned equipment fails he gets it fixed or goes out of business. Public works has a captive audience, and tax/utility customers can't simply patronize a different vendor. Wait. YES they can. What's that moving van company name again? Don't doubt more are considering a new address.
6:27 may your drains back-up and a boil order last all week for the goofus post. Not for any of your neighbors though, if they're decent and intelligent.

  5. 6:27 that's nice. It makes me understand better why many people need a spokes person to produce spin for the public.

  6. What you need to do here TKC is go back and see how NIGGERS of the NIGGER to the NIGGERS from the NIGGER would benefit all of the NIGGERS.

Just look at these NIGGERS and it's clear that's not the case.

  7. @6:27 - You poorly paid city schmuck. First of all you need to learn how to write. Secondly, this is a question of priorities.

The city is spending all their money on hotels and streetcars and none of it on places that need real work. THAT is the problem, but just like the Mayor you want to blame the victim. Shame on you.

  8. 6:27, I'm sure you mean well. It's just that you are entirely uninformed. Kansas City is trying to come off a 40 year spell of maintenance deferral on basic water infrastructure. Those of us a bit less naive than you understand the corruption that is and underlies the water utility here. The problem is, of course, that the water department has been home to the most corrupt of our fine east-of-Troost populous so you really cannot say mush publicly without coming across as a racist. Terry "Steak Dinner" Leeds isn't much better but his time is about up anyway.

  9. east-of-Troost? JUST SAY NIGGER

  10. Water Department has had 20th Street on the Westside torn up for months..Open trenches all over the place; this wouldn't be happening in Brookside.

  11. 6:27 pm. The State wanted to audit the KCMO Water Department and Sly refuses to let this happen. Certainly even you would agree that this gives the appearance that Sly is trying to hide something. It is likely that he is stealing water department revenues to fund his streetcar.

    ReplyDelete
  12. The water dept revenue is intentionally being artificially inflated by billing for services to vacant and abandoned buildings so the assumption that money is being channeled elsewhere is probably accurate.

  13. With a billion dollar debt its not hard to find the money trail

  14. sly instead of forcing that toy train down our throats why didnt you put that money into upgrading the water and sewer lines instead of raising the rates on our senior citizens thur the grape vine im hearing some elderly cannot buy food because of the rate increases andd are eating can dog food so why ingore our senior citiZens like that

  15. I commend "Stretch" for speaking truth to power, instead of bitching anonymously on a blog.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Well, maybe you should also thank "stretch" for serving up slop on a plate and calling it food. His "restaurant" is as nasty as any in KC and even calling it a "restaurant" is a stretch....See how I did that??

    ReplyDelete
  17. Stretch won't even fucking pave his parking lots across the steet. He is a hack of an artist too.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Stretch is like something my asshole does when I blow a giant turd.

Speaking of turds, Byron, you are the biggest turd known to mankind.

Amazing Byron is absent from this blog, then suddenly the Polar Bear gets axed and there is a sudden return of Byron Funkhouser.

Interesting. Not only a return, but a constant farting of comment gases originating out of West Virginia.

  19. Who is this Stretch person ? I don't like the cut of his jib.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Always a interesting forum.. BTW I don't own the lot Grinders rents it..the owners do however refuse to pave it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Please name and shame the owner of the lot. Maybe then it will get paved.

  22. AUDIT! Fire Terry Leeds. Fire all management. Fire HR. All are non-functioning and do not have the qualifications and history to perform their jobs. Where does all the $ go? Water/Sewer is a luxury now.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Boil order? More like order to be "boiled alive" when one sees how the city is ratcheting up rates. It is a shame and a disaster that the city was more interested in a toy train than real infrastructure improvement. I mean, only a fool would think this train represents progress. Like trying to say that a telegraph line represents progress.

    Ever heard of email?

Anyway, the analogy of a toilet flushing all our tax money into the drains is probably no longer valid, given that this town has such epic sewer problems. Instead it should be a train going off a cliff. A shiny new train. Filled with taxpayer. Going over the edge.

  24. Stretch is correct. Sly and de boys only care about projects and improvements west of Grand. If they did there would be something except the Cop Shop and ALDI store to point to on the east side.
