TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! RANK AND FILE DEMAND KCPD CHIEF FORTÉ FIGHT AGAINST MAYOR SLY'S POLICE CUTS!!!
The Kansas City budget isn't a done deal even if Mayor Sly's propagandists have effectively pushed it out of the public discussion.
To wit . . .
BEHIND THE SCENES A GREAT MANY MEMBERS OF KCPD RANK AND FILE DEMAND THAT CHIEF FORTÉ FIGHT FOR POLICE JOBS IN A BUDGET THAT GIVES AWAY ALL OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY CASH TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT!!!
Thanks to our blog community we know of that deep cuts are a fact for Kansas City police in the coming year.
- 30 Civilian Positions from the Kansas City Police Department will be eliminated (Page V)
- Police Mounted Patrol will be downsized from 10 positions to 7 positions.
- And it gets much worse . . .
IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE FERGUSON RACIAL UPRISING THERE AREN'T MANY COMMUNITY COMPLAINTS ABOUT POLICE TAKING A SERIOUS BUDGET HIT . . . THEREFORE THE RANK AND FILE ARE STEPPING UP TO STOP CITY HALL FROM SLICING AWAY THEIR FUNDING IN FAVOR OF THE FAR MORE POLITICAL FIREFIGHTERS!!!
Like it or not, it seems that Mayor Sly and the council are moving to secure their political connections rather than show much concern about public safety and now the behind the scenes chatter focuses on pushing Chief Forté to stand up against the Mayor again in order to save KCPD jobs.
Developing . . .
We're need to be like Argentina where the affluent and well to do live in extravagantly appointed homes in "barrios cerrados", gated communities surrounded by walls, razor wire and uniformed guards toting handguns, assault rifles and walkie-talkies!
ReplyDeleteSo no cops are losing their jobs, and the office folks are downsized due to computer ticketing. I don't see a problem with the budget at all.
ReplyDeleteShut up Chris Hernandez. You're cutting 30 jobs from the Department and our support staff so your mayor can stand next to a train.
ReplyDeleteShitty deal for everybody involved. Especially the citizens.
Maybe the Police Chief and the Fire Chief can have a "Dance Off" for the funds.
ReplyDeleteIf you can't deliver votes, you don't get any money. Those are the rules in KCMO.
ReplyDeletePolice is not the olny department losing people. City Hall is going to be ugly starting next week when people learn they don't have jobs.
ReplyDeleteTroy's hatred of staff and love of outsourcing is going to hurt citizens.
Hopefully the folks being outsourced will have a chance to see Cindy's Milan vacation photos before they are forced out.
ReplyDelete30 civilian positions is bad.Dispatchers and 911 call takers are civilians. If they lose them, it will be a disaster. Jail employees and clerks. Sad. Sad.
ReplyDeleteAnd then Dr. Earnest Evans said...
ReplyDeletePolice Department is bloated and it was documented all the way back to when Funkhouser audited the department.
ReplyDeleteFire Dept no better. When or when will they stop sending fire trucks to places ambulances are called ?
Funk Wins Again
ReplyDeletePolice are way over bloated and severely overpaid. It's time to reduce their pay. What are they going to do quit?
ReplyDeleteThe mayor isn't gonna back the PD anymore. He can't use them to raise money for the city without permission from Eric Holder. And folks don't think the PD is already under local control?
ReplyDeleteFuck you Sly!!! Ticket counts my ass. The officers never wanted to write those things anyways. There doesn't need to be a work slowdown, there are lots of things officers can do to keep from getting disciplined for not writing tickets.
ReplyDeleteEver notice the nice automobiles the cops are driving these days? How can a cop afford a $40,000.00 vehicle. And we're not talking about just one or two vehicles. Don't they pay rent and a mortgage? They can't be trust fund babies slapping fines and tickets on poor people
ReplyDeleteJust fire all the cops that danced in the stupid Westport dance flash mob.
ReplyDeleteWhat's with the speed trap at Salisbury and 291. Those first line defenders look like they're rolling in the $$$
ReplyDeleteNo citizen ever suffered from a reduction in bureaucrats. Let 'er roll.
ReplyDeleteHiring a Black police chief solved everything. Now, on to world peace.
ReplyDeleteYesterday the Chief promoted 31 people. There are over 70 people assigned to NOVA and virtually no one in patrol., but somehow the department has no money to do its basic function which is police work.
