"Read about first on TKC, and even before the vaunted Missouri press corps wakes up for their morning coffee: Secretary of State Jason Kander has made the decision to run against Roy Blunt for the US Senate seat in 2016 and may announce his candidacy as soon as this Thursday afternoon. Kander has been busy talking to a limited number of key Democratic insiders over the last 48 hours and rallying support for his run. This decision does not surprise insiders who have heard that his wife, Diana, was extremely unhappy in Jefferson City and wanted a change of domicile. Kander will face a very difficult task and long odds in beating an established name in Blunt. However, his first major hurdle will be in attempting to rally important elements of his own party who are still very wary of his newness, lack of longevity and thus real accomplishment in any office, and seeming ambition-over-all-else style. Furthermore, at several times over the last year, Kander has publicly insisted that he was running for reelection and was not interested in any other office. So, this announcement will be seen as a rather abrupt and perhaps not well planned change of course."

What will happen to Biden's buddy MD Alam? I thought he has been campaigning since 2012. Haven't you known that MD met Blunt at the Senate Floor and challenged him personally? MD has nothing to lose other than gaining. But Jason Kander is slaughtering his political career. He should served one more term as SOS and then could do something crazy like this. I feel sorry for Kander as he has to face Primary with MD Alam.
