TKC FACT CHECK: LIKE IT OR NOT, SOMEBODY IS LYING ABOUT MO SECSTATE JASON KANDER U.S. SENATE AMBITIONS!!!

Our blog community has followed the career of Missouri SecState Jason Kander since his days peddling votes along Ward Parkway.

Now, Dead Tree Media is enjoying a bit of speculation that puts somebody on the hook for lying in a pretty big way . . . Bigger than most entertaining blogger chatter.

Let's see . . .

Here's a headline with an on-the-record quote regarding SecState Kander's ambitions from not so long ago:

Missouri Times: Jason Kander says he is running for reelection in 2016

Money line:

Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander said Saturday that he was, in fact, running for reelection in 2016 . . . “I ran for secretary of state because I want to be secretary of state,” he said. “This is a great job and I hope people in a few years let me continue it. I’m doing everything I can to do this job as well as I possibly can.”

Today, Helling echoed a bit of speculation that hasn't been confirmed, very much like a blogger . . .

Dave Helling: Jason Kander faces interesting, difficult decision on running for U.S. Senate

Now . . .

LIKE IT OR NOT, SOMEBODY IS LYING HERE AND THE TRUTH IS GOING TO HURT WHEN IT COMES OUT!!!

Also, let's not forget that the MO Sen. Will Kraus team stands to benefit if SecState Kander runs from a fight . . . So this might all be easily traceable back to consultants spinning desperate newsies.

Here @ TKC we never underestimate the gullibility of Dead Tree Media reporters who are getting nervous about more impending layoffs and the inevitability of the newspaper circling the toilet bowl of history.

But I digress . . .

Do we believe that SecState Kander is going back on his word?

Or do we maybe think newsies are maybe a bit too eager to believe political gossip that works in the favor of GOP elites?

The fact is that without our blog community or our comment section . . . Newspaper pundits would be free to spin this kind of hype without facing pushback whereas TKC enjoys some of the more cleaver hateration when it's clearly from frustrated newspaper dudes who never managed to find a decent following online.

Now, time will tell and our Constitutionally protected blogging right as a much more widely read Internets community is to BASH the political fibber no matter how this turns out. Natch.

So a Kansas Republican named Helling is grilling a Missouri Democrat named Kander on rumors started by Missouri Republicans?

  4. It's all fun speculation but in the end, my guess is he stays put rather than facing the senator from Monsanto.
