THE TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! CELEBRATE THE WEEK OF KINGMAKERS AND GIANT KILLERS IN KANSAS CITY!!!

Tonight let's talk about power, influence and who really runs Kansas City.
Behind the scenes this has been a week of political maneuvers and deal making among the most well-connected civic denizens.
To wit . . .
KANSAS CITY KINGMAKERS AND GIANT KILLERS BATTLED THIS WEEK FOR INFLUENCE OVER THE EVER-SHRINKING VOTING PUBLIC!!!
Accordingly, this would be a good time to round-up the early endorsement lists which have long been the first sneak peek at who is winning silly season.
All of these MAJOR CIVIC ENDORSEMENTS have been reported FIRST on TKC and represent some of the most formidable voting blocs working today in this town.
The process started with Forward KC picking Jason Hodges to lead their slate
There's some pushback about the male-dominated slate from this Northland group but we know for a fact that two women with very strong opinions were part of the selection process. Behind the scenes it has been mention that a move away from political "baggage" an not identity politics was the motivating factor determining this list. More on that later . . .
The Citizens Association is the most iconic of all Kansas City civic groups and their process is the most transparent. Their nominations for endorsement have defined election season so far.
Look for a change up in these nominations as the group might be a bit embarrassed by picking TGR and the seal of approval from the Board of Governors always makes for good entertainment.
There's no arguing that Local 42 remains a political powerhouse and their endorsement list earned a great deal of interest and voter reax.
Like it or not, the union card is a Kansas City tradition and the public presentation of this list is important even if behind the scene KCFD politics ALWAYS has a role to play in personal grudges among politicos and their membership.
Finally, Freedom Inc. and their decision not to endorse the Mayor could influence the election more than any other factor given that so many politicos are counting on East side voter turnout that might not manifest itself.
East side insiders fear that their community isn't getting excited about this election. Rebuke against the Mayor could keep the 3rd and 5th District from wielding influence in citywide elections if voters don't see a reason to show up. Note, this same phenomena contributed to the defeat of an otherwise beloved Former City Councilman Alvin Brooks not so long ago.
BUT WHO REALLY HOLDS INFLUENCE IN KANSAS CITY??? HERE'S WHAT OUR SUBSCRIBER COMMUNITY SEYZ!!!
What Kansas City Political Endorsements Mean The Most To You And Will Influence Your Vote For Council???
Forward KC - 10.5%
Citizens Association - 1.5%
Freedom, Inc. - 25.5%
Spouse Or Significant Other - 50%*****
Mayor Sly James - 12.5%
As the Mayor fights for his slate and his opposition sees the Council as the next big battleground: It's clear that Kansas City voters are turning inward for advice.
And all of this has inspired tonight's playlist . . .
As always, thanks for reading tonight and have a safe and fun Saturday night.
Sponge bob dictates my politics but I'm an idiot.
ReplyDelete$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
ReplyDeleteThe more you write about politics the more psychotic you sound.
ReplyDeleteKansas City Political Analysis done through a Zoloft-induced haze.
Enjoy.
John Mayer's overly-earnest assface only slightly less punchable than Ed Sheeran's.
ReplyDeleteSpouse or Significant Other 50%? What does that says for reader education?
ReplyDeleteThe term "beloved" referring to Alvin Brooks is a stretch TKC! Even for you. We've got about as much love for Alvin as we do for the Mayor.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, think about it. When ANY organization like Freedom Inc has recognizable power that could sway ANY election, then you city is done.
ReplyDeleteA one trick pony, an agenda built on a racially biased premise, which expects an eternal payoff, based on skin color that, by way of a transgenerational crucible.
Go see Selma.
Not the movie, the city.
Just like Birmingham, it is a 3rd world shit hole full of black violence, entitlement, low expectations and tax payer money, funding the continuation and expansion of same.
Freedom Inc. is Incorporated at the expense and guilt of idiot white people who won't see the light until they are raped and murdered.
KC gets what it deserves.
+1 9:33pm You get it!
ReplyDeleteFreedom, Inc. is just being hyped up by this blog. In reality, Freedom, Inc. lost whatever influence it had from the 1950's in the 1960's. It's been downhill ever since. Don't count on media to report truth. They've got stories to sell to those people willing to listen. When Freedom, Inc influences about half of the 5,000 people in the third and fifth district out of a populace of at least 78,000 in the third district alone - you know we're not using the same math to measure results. The sooner its members die off the better. Young people want nothing to do with them.
9:33 WINNER
ReplyDeleteLike John Mayer hate kc politics.
ReplyDeleteMr. Tony,
ReplyDeleteJust where is the Latino vote?
Really.
Latinos need to get rid of their LA Raza local reps. Lack of confidence in getting anywhere with voter involvement.
Shoooo!!! Lali!! Beat it Cris!!!
