Our TKC blog community already knows that Quinton Lucas is out to an early lead in his 3rd District At-Large race and last night some of this town's elite denizens celebrated the official kick-off of his campaign at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in the 18th and Vine District.

BEHIND THE SCENES . . . THE LOCAL POLITICAL ELITE HAVE CROWNED QUINTON LUCAS AS KANSAS CITY'S RISING STAR COUNCIL CONTENDER!!!
Perspective . . . MO State Sen. Jolie Justus is going to trounce Parks Board Member John Fierro but that's pretty much expected.
Meanwhile, in terms of momentum . . . The Quinton Lucas rise to power interests local politicos because - for now - His funding isn't tied up with typical Kansas City interests . . . Even if a Pat Gray connection troubles more thoughtful 3rd District denizens.
Nevertheless, last night Mr. Lucas demonstrated his ability to garner support from a "large, multi-racial crowd" looking toward the future of the 3rd District.
