This morning let's look at the future of Kansas City politics and some of the folks who are attempting to get an early start in what will most certainly be a long and contentious campaign for City Council.
Accordingly . . .
CHECK THE TOP 5 KANSAS CITY UPSTART CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES!!!
There's a lot of people out there campaigning and throwing their name around but these seem to be the folks with the most upside potential who have ALREADY put in work to get noticed.
From North of the river to South Kansas City . . . Here are the standouts.
Check it:
Heather Hall - 1st District

Heather Hall is already off to a strong start with a big endorsement from the FOP which should make a big difference out in cop land. Moreover, behind the scenes it seems that she's got some Conservative support that should resonate with the folks in the northland hinterland who often feel disconnected with the politics of Kansas City proper.
Teresa Loar - 2nd District At-Large

Don't call it a comeback . . . This former Kansas City Council lady is starting fresh and she's already outlasted one of her opponents. Ms. Loar has always been a Kansas City power broker but in this tough fundraising climate she's going to have her work cut out for her . . . Still, look for Theresa Loar to start making more waves very soon as local power players have already taken notice of her campaign and are moving to support her early.
Rev. Steve "Flash" Gordon - 3rd District At-Large
Rev. Stephan Gordon is making his bid for City Council through a grassroots campaign effort intended to challenge the community connections of his VERY WELL-FUNDED OPPONENT who seems to be the favorite of many Freedom, Inc. insiders.
John Fierro - 4th District
Mr. Fierro has no place to go but up in his bid to outmaneuver Missouri State Senator Jolie Justus. In his favor, it'll be harder for the very popular political lady to transfer her HUGE BANKROLL to her City Council campaign. Still, Council Lady Jan Marcason has already anointed Jolie as her successor so there is now question it'll be an uphill battle.
Sherwood Smith - 5th District???

This is the one of the most interesting contests coming up . . . 5th District is always where Sherwood Smith should have started his political career. We like Mr. Smith's chances far better than the other fire dude chatting up anybody who will listen. Moreover, if Mr. Smith attempts to compete in the 5th District he'll have the chance for a bit of revenge against both Freedom, Inc. AND Mayor Sly. Maybe even some (not so) friendly union competition with Theresa Garza Ruiz if he decides to run at large . . . And he should run at-large. As always, TKC TIPSTERS TOLD US FIRST!!!
MO State Rep. Kevin McManus - 6th District

Finally, new school Missouri State Rep. Kevin McManus is in the lead to follow Councilman John Sharp in the 6th. Admittedly, we don't know much about Mr. McManus only that just about every politico thinks he's a lock for the job if he wants it.
Accordingly, consider that all of these politicos are out there making waves in Kansas City for their upcoming Council campaigns that are less than a year away.
Developing . . .
I will vote no for half of them. Yes for most.
ReplyDeleteFierro has no prayer.
ReplyDeleteDon't call it a comeback call it a retread.
ReplyDeleteLolz!
ReplyDeleteFierro! Arrgghh, me eyes!!
ReplyDelete"let's rob taxpayer's and build a new airport"
ReplyDeletePerhaps it is good for him that you did not mention Crispin, but you should have
ReplyDeleteJohn is a good Catholic, who is running against a heathen. He has my vote.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the nicest guy on earth, but if a penis had a face it would look like John Fierro.
ReplyDeleteLet's get some more info on these folks. Too often we vote for people who turn out to be pure dildos. Mensa boy, for example.
ReplyDeleteKevin McManus has good hair so he's a shoo-in. (It's an old Dilbert joke).
ReplyDeleteGordon is a joke. He doesn't belong on the list. Get him out of there, the man can't understand anything and his plans are laughable. He's embarrassing and the worst kind of so called leader. He will not win.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Sheriff Vescovo publicly endorsing Heather?? He was working at a poll for Jerry Nolte last week. He campaigned on the platform of "taking politics out of law enforcement". Vescovo is such a hypocrite!!!
ReplyDeleteFierro is STILL the ugliest, little fuck in Kansas City! Bar none!! What is this dwarf good for??
ReplyDeleteJohn Fierro has been incredibly helpful to us in Indian Mound.
ReplyDeletenew council, no demo-rats. make it happen!
ReplyDeleteKansas City is so fucked again.
ReplyDeleteBill Said..
ReplyDeleteFierro is the sharpest of the group. At least he has business experience.
No one covered for me, so I'll have to ask: What are their views on unsolicited bulk e-mail?
ReplyDeleteKevin McManus is freaking hot.
ReplyDeleteI have a anal dildo that looks just like John Fierro!
ReplyDeleteAnyone from the 2nd but Jay Hodges from the Mayor's office. Treated everyone like shit for 3+ years and now is making nice.
ReplyDeleteMcManus is hot, but let's hear his positions on things that matter to us, like wasting more taxpayer money on streetcar elections.
ReplyDeleteWell, 3:14, according to ZoomInfo Jay Hodges is a Krav Maga instructor, so I'd mind my Ps and Qs if I were you. The site also says he is a BJJ instructor..not sure what that is, but I think it sounds kinda naughty.
ReplyDeleteHow do they feel about Troy Shitty? Will they be smart enough to fire him?
ReplyDeleteSnore. "Flash" Gordon is just that.
ReplyDeleteThe book has already been written on the Third At Large race. Of all the Council elections next year, this one is definitely over.
Don't try and make news out of something that ain't.
I've spent a lot of time recently with Mrs. Hall. She is extremely honest and her stance on issues that concern all of our neighbors in our sub-division is spot on. I've only met Dick Davis one time and he acted like he didn't have time to talk to me. I was concerned about the city's use of TIF funds and he basically told me I didn't understand the big picture. That may be, but he owed it to me to explain it. Seems to me our area could have more officers, and a firestation if they would quit giving our taxes away. I told him we like the current airport, maybe it could be renovated, and he talked about the people with layovers. Okay, make them pay for the new wings, but the residents here like the current ease of it. I've heard rumors about Lou Wright running, but he just moved north, screwed us out of the promised fire station, ambulance service to our residents. A quick google search leads all of us to realize he won't serve us northlanders. So far, Mrs. Hall is our best bet.
ReplyDeleteDick Davis must be taking notes from the Give-It-Away Kay notebook. She always said critics of her TIF abuse (Plaza, Briarcliff, etc.) "just didn't get it."
ReplyDeleteWere getting it now.
I want my streets safe. Get local control of the police, but hire more and build more fire stations. Don't close them.
ReplyDeleteTroy looks like "Cam" on Modern Family. ..I wonder if....
ReplyDeleteMaybe Vesvovo is his dildo. I remember how promise to take politics out of politics. just another liar.
