TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! COMING SOON: KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR PHASE DEUX TDD SCHEME FACES FIREFIGHTER OPPOSITION!!!
This morning our blog community is reporting Kansas City election GAME CHANGING news in the upcoming toy train streetcar TDD election.
To wit . . .
KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS WARN US OF UNPRECEDENTED FIRE FIGHTER PUSH BACK AGAINST THE TOY TRAIN STREETCAR TDD PHASE DEUX AS PAY BACK FOR MAYOR SLY AND CINDY CIRCO STATION SHUTDOWNS AND OUTSOURCING BETRAYAL!!!
Normally, the firefighters are content to stay out of these eco-devo fights but it seems that now Mayor Sly's "win at all costs" style of politics have finally earned a bit of reprisal . . . Moreover, Local firefighters are learning that Mayor Sly only understands political brute force.
To wit . . .
KANSAS CITY FIREFIGHTER OPPOSITION TO THE TOY TRAIN STREETCAR THREATENS TO STOP THE TDD RIGHT IN ITS TRACKS AND BRING THE WHOLE SCHEME TO A FULL STOP!!!
In the aftermath of station shutdowns and KCMO on the verge of piece by piece privatization of city services . . . This union organized tactical response should hit Mayor Sly like a fierce SLAP IN THE FACE.
Even better, looking at this rationally, the move makes sense . . . As Kansas City money gets tighter the firefighters can no longer afford to sit back and only focus strictly on KCFD issues . . . The overall financial health of KCMO impacts firefighter rank and file and putting a stop to the TOY TRAIN SPENDING SPREE INSANITY clearly benefits all municipal employees who have taken one beating after the next.
Now, we're BLOWING THE LID OFF THIS MOVE before anybody else and we expect hateration from all sides as we challenge popular preconceptions and reveal that Mayor Sly is quickly losing his toy train fight thanks to his arrogance and confrontational political bargaining style.
Developing . . .
So in two days he lost citizens, freedom and now the FD rank and file. That should make the message very clear for Sly. Watch him to abandon his friends pushing this one now.
ReplyDeleteSly is losing friends quick, that's what happens when he starts taking bad advice from people who pretend to be his friends and pretend they know what they're talking about.
ReplyDeleteSure but what does Frank White think about the whole deal?
ReplyDeleteMan that guy could turn a smooth double play!
Sly endorsed Sherwood who will lose this August, another public loss for him.
ReplyDeleteThose are the firefighters I remember.
ReplyDeleteMethinks the rubes have finally tired of bow-tied shuck n' jive.
ReplyDeleteSly is getting what he deserves. Can't wait to see the airport single terminal idea shoved up his nether region after the street car boondoggle goes down in flames.
ReplyDeleteKansas City Sucks!
ReplyDeleteQUIET!!!!!!
James is quickly making Funkhouser look like H. Roe Bartle or Ilus Davis. Someone explain how a Funkhouser second term would have be worse.
ReplyDeleteThe TDD expansion loss is going to much more srious than these folks let on. There's no where near enough money generated by the original Main Street TDD to build, operate, and maintain that 2.2 miles and about every dime that could be found in the current general fund is long gone.
ReplyDeleteYou can hide behind the curtain only so long, and the empty suit is about to be revealed.
And I'm not sure dancing is going to cut it in this case.
When you try to pull a fast one over on the public, you need to pick something that can be done quickly so everyone can move on before they notice their watch is missing.
And a multi-hundred million dollar project ain't it.
Municipal politics 101: certain departments receive earmarked money (we raise taxes for MAST or KCATA) but all of those departments are also funded from the general fund. When the general fund is raided to pay for projects like P&L or streetcar, departments like city planning, etc. don't get raises. The firefighters union is strong plus it's easier to pass a tax for fire fighters as opposed to a tax for municipal courts.
ReplyDeleteI'm always skeptical of tax increases; specifically sales tax increases, because it lets city hall off the hook for irresponsible spending. Firefighters deserve a raise, but so do many people in city hall who don't get to raise taxes for their salaries.
I reluctantly support the firefighters tax because this mayor/council does not appreciate them,l. A vote for streetcar is a vote against bus drivers, codes adminstration, animal services, traffic, etc. Because that is millions being siphoned from the fund that pays their salaries.
Three simple words.
ReplyDeleteVOTE NO TDD
Good. But remember that the KCFD is still the most corrupt, racist group in CK. Mob style shit.
ReplyDeleteKANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR PHASE DEUX TDD SCHEME FACES FIREFIGHTER OPPOSITION!!!
ReplyDelete****CORRECTION****
KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR PHASE DEUX TDD SCHEME FACES CITY-WIDE OPPOSITION FROM ALL GROUPS, CLANS, MEMBERSHIPS, VOTERS!!! ONLY SUPPORTERS ARE BURNS/MAC, SLY AND RUSS.
Well you only have to follow the money and I don't see any neighborhood's that gave to the Light Rail before in the pass.
ReplyDeleteDowntown Council $10,000, Civic Council $25,000, Chamber of Commerce $25,000, Shook Hardy&Bacon $10,000 Lathrop & Gage $10,000 KCP&Light $2500, plus many other people who are in the TIF district. They have put to much money over the years to stop now. Many Law firms Shygart Thompson & Kilroy,Polsinelli. Even a firm from California Gillig Corp. So once again we go to the polls after 6 times of saying no to Light Rail.
Russ has been sent to his room after throwing an EPIC tantrum after reading TKC. "Whaaaaa! Big Daddy James pwomised me a toy twain! Whaaaaa!!
ReplyDeleteJust Vote NO on everything. They should be against the MO gas sales tax which is diverting all of KC money for the toy train.
ReplyDeleteYou have math problem. 20% doesn't equal "all".
DeleteIt doesn't even equal most.
Doesn't take a Mensa test to know that.
Firefighters are bullies.
ReplyDeleteFirefighters are bullies.
ReplyDeleteWhat jackass lackey at the Star wrote this piece of bullshit?
ReplyDeleteMarriage of state transportation tax, streetcar plan boosts KC’s future
David Johnson?
Sly James and Russ Johnson are bullies.
ReplyDeleteS'LIE James probably had to approve that before it came out yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThree simple words
ReplyDeleteVote and Destroy
TIPSTERS...
ReplyDeleteIt seems...
All the mighty hallmarks of another made-up piece of shit.
Right the Star is urging voters to vote no for the fire department and telling people to lap up A + 7 instead.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt this is all made up.
Hey, Mayors office just woke up. Good morning, glad you got up at the crack of noon:38.
ReplyDeleteSly's nicey nicey routine isn't selling anymore. He's been exposed for what he is. A fraud.
ReplyDeleteA fraud and a bully.
ReplyDeleteWill they dress Sly up in a fireman's jacket and put him out there to reassure everyone public safety is a much higher priority then his toy train tax payer ripoff scheme?
ReplyDeletethere ought to be a law aginst voting on something year after year till it passes
ReplyDeleteIf you complainers took a 30,000 foot view of streetcars in the US, you might, again might, change your tone while maintaining your position.
ReplyDeleteI have lived in at least 4 cities that have gone through process, and in each one there has been a valid opposing position. If the "no" constituency turns out to be correct, then the advocates get turned out in the next election. Conversely, if they are wrong, they go away and move on to the next public matter.
This applies to many issues that Tony vents on this blog. People learn to "steel" themselves against the hate and mean rhetoric expressed here, and in turn, you marginalize yourself. The only audience is other mean spirited haters.
If Tony wants to use this blog as an effective public policy arena, he is going to have to address the component of posters who are nothing but hate filled angry people who enjoy disparaging others through anonymous posts.
For the self loathing guy, that is why I occasionally drop in. Not because of the hate, but the hope that real open dialogue I'm a free and respectful manner can return to TKC.
The issue for many of the Dan Cofran's is that they share the same position as many of the haters and conspiracy theorists that don't have time of respect for any position that is different than theirs. Dan is not like this, but I sense his embarrassment when joked at by the vitriol of people that approach public issues with the hate and anger you find on this blog.
Get used to it hard charger. This SCAM WILL NOT STAND
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like KC move to Portlandia hard charger guy where you ride your toy trains to your soft hearts content.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like kc, move to topeka where people agree everything is just fine like it is.
DeleteThis goes beyond the toy train now 1:31.
ReplyDeleteThis is becoming about the brazen lying and corruption that is the modus operandi of James, City Hall, and those enabling them.
Burns and Mactopia!
ReplyDeleteBurns and Mactopia!
ReplyDeleteSly is a dictator Mayor who is a Bully and has no pulse of the City. This election will show that.
ReplyDeleteMayor Sly James said the work being performed by Kansas City’s Parson & Associates LLC and Scott Hall & Associates will help the city fulfill a federal requirement to incorporate an environmental assessment into the expansion routes so the city is eligible to receive federal funding.
ReplyDeleteFed Response - FTA: No federal requirement for door-to-door meetings
People get pissed off, angry when they are lied to and jacked around. Especially by elected officials and those padding their pockets.
ReplyDeleteAny other questions?
Yeah, is Cindy still vacationing in Cabo?
ReplyDeleteSly and crew maybe ought stop reading the Richard Florida paperbacks and lapping up the hipster bullshit. Thing is it's to late. Marcusan and Stone we're the latest to get a taste of the real pulse of KC and it isn't pretty.
ReplyDeleteJeezus, whole town is run by ward heelers, gangsters, thugs and nincompoops.
ReplyDeleteAlmost bought a house in CK. So glad I didn't.
Thanks for checking in to tonys Johnson county to see what's going on in the city that allows your suburb to exist
DeleteHater -- A person who does not agree with the point of view of a Liberal.
ReplyDeleteYeah Dave Johnson is the main toy train ward heeler crawling around these days. There's other political operatives in his clique also not worth mentioning.
ReplyDeleteSly tweeted on June 3 he did not know who David Johnson is.
ReplyDeleteA flat out LIE.
RETHUGLICAN DICTIONARY:
ReplyDeleteUnpatriotic - Anyone who doesn't gobble turgid military-industrial cock by the busload, or anyone who thinks maybe corporations should actually pay taxes in this country.
See how much fun the red team vs blue team pussymoaning game is? Why it could go on like this for hours!
Jeezus, whole town is run by ward heelers, gangsters, thugs and nincompoops. Almost bought a house in CK So glad I didn't.
ReplyDeleteYour smart 2:43 believe me.
All these taxes- fire tax, gas tax. streetcar tax. The only safe choice is to Vote NO.
ReplyDeleteYou're already paying the fire tax.this is not an increase just the same amount to maintain the current level of service
Delete@144, I don't live in KC. And your response kind of makes my point.
ReplyDeleteActually, it exactly makes my point.
See you all next week. Got a life. Out.
Where do live 4:05? And if not here why are you sticking your nose into our business trying to shove streetcars and apartments up peoples asses?
ReplyDeleteIt's just too many taxes, that's that real story here. FD has to living kansas city too and we can't afford the skyrocketing tax rate. that's what's going on.
ReplyDeleteThe fire mafia wins!
ReplyDeleteFirefighters should just walk off the job and see what our phony dancing mayor and his crew of court jesters and ass kissers does.
ReplyDeleteThey won't do that of course but it's an interesting thought.
Hard Charger: You've posted this identical comment before (complete with typos). I still say Russ is your poster boy for intolerance and, for that matter hypocrisy. While he's hoping for a job out of the streetcar he accuses his opponents of being paid to oppose the streetcar.
ReplyDeleteAs if anyone needs to be paid to oppose such a highly questionable project.
Touheys getting paid. Cofrans getting paid. Freedoms getting paid. Dejanes is just mad because she owns a house partially built on ATA right of way. Burke tried to get paid. The heavies are getting paid by taxpayers to build roads exclusively. Tonys getting paid to blog it.
DeleteWhat a grassroots movement!
I'm a KC firefighter. I live in the TDD. I support it and will vote for it. I know many other firefighters who do to. Most of the firemen that don't support it don't live in the TDD anyway, and wouldn't have to pay the taxes.
ReplyDeleteNo you are not
DeleteSweet come back, bro.
DeleteI'm also a fireman in KC. I don't live out south, so I can't vote, but if I did I'd vote for it. I don't think most firefighters would on the job. Seems pretty unpopular, but most of us aren't exactly city-people. I live up here for the schools mostly, but I think it would be great to have light rail here. They have it everywhere else and it works good. Don't know why we should be the only city that doesn't have it.
Seems like all the people against it are just the same people that always bitch anytime anything changes.
Can't wait for the mornings Wastedport Video. Always enjoy a good laugh with this Clusterfuck Kansasscity report.
ReplyDeleteTDD will go down like the medical research tax. In flames.
ReplyDeletePeople here aren't as stupid as our local green shirted ward heelers think.
JH Kunstler, that old cranky fucker, would just shake his head in disgust at the clown show that is Westport.
ReplyDelete9:19-9:35: Couldn't get a date last night, Russ? Even using a firefighter as one of your personalities?
ReplyDeleteVote no on all of these taxes until the City, especially the KCFD can live within their budget! We don't need the best FD in the world, we need the best one that the taxpayers can afford.
ReplyDelete2:07 Obama is a dictator president, (who like your mayor) is a bully who has no pulse for his country. I am sure since obama cant run again for another term, the next election cant happen soon enough!!!!! Time for whitey to take back the black house!
ReplyDeleteThe "Black House" Isnt it funny how white people like black cars and black people like white cars, we have a black mayor who is retarded and color blind and a president who lives in a white house lol
ReplyDeleteRenew the fire tax again, you have to be kidding. The City has taken millions of dollars$$$ from the fund to pay for TIF and they use it to pay for their short falls. Will need to have better wording so money can't be taken for other use.
ReplyDeleteTheir poor management of money can't keep going on.
I only hope the FD has the good sense to vote against this never ending money drain on the midtown citizens, called the TDD.
ReplyDeleteThe enemy of my enemy is my friend. Vote No TDD.
ReplyDelete
