WORD AROUND THE CAMP FIRE IS THAT THERE'S PRETTY MUCH AN ALL OUT CAT FIGHT @ THE COURTHOUSE AMONG HIGH RANKING LADY POLITICOS AND MEDIA PEOPLE!!!
Apparently, these ladies aren't celebrating female diversity and the County Exec's girl power politically motivated and connected hiring spree . . .
This post is for and from Insiders but constant news watchers will be able to translate our jargon intended to avoid a bitchy lawsuit.
Here are the highlights . . .
- Cutie Cathy doesn't like showing up for werk. Everybody is complaining that she barely puts in 2 days on the job a week. Still, she knows that her job is safe because Mr. Jolly is already in line to be the the NEXT County Exec.
- Radio Lisa isn't getting a warm reception from Honny-Bear . . . Blondes vs. Brunettes an ancient battle which makes that whole Gaza Strip thing look like a tea party.
- Finally, Daughter Dutch is having a hard time getting ANYBODY fired nowadays . . . Given the changing political landscape.
- Dirty Crystal keeps stirring the pot as she talks a great game about "girl power" while getting as much gossip as she can from all of these ladies.
Also . . .
AND DON'T YOU DARE COUNT CALVIN OUT OF THIS CAT FIGHT!!! HE'S TRYING TO MAINTAIN CONTROL BUT . . . (PARDON THE MIXED METAPHOR) . . . PLAYING THE ROOSTER IN THIS HEN HOUSE GONE WILD ISN'T EXACTLY HIS STYLE!!!
Factor in this hot mess along with ongoing budget cuts along with constant tax screw-ups and you'll start to see the problem that would be solved if the County Exec wasn't busy thinking about his next move to get as far away from 12th & Oak as possible.

That diva Sanders makes Kathryn Shields look downright brilliant, ethical and a viable candidate for her former seat. Now how sad is that?

Cutie Cathy is not the only one who has trouble showing up for work. Lisa Carter was needed on Friday morning, but she was nowhere to be found. It was ridiculous. Not everyone who works here gets that kind of leeway. We show up for work on time or we get docked pay. Word is that she is a heavy drinker and mornings are not her friend. How does someone like that get hired?

ReplyDeleteCrystal cannot be happy that Sanders is loading up his office with Anti-Choice Republicans. Lisa Carter and her husband Dale have a long history of very, very conservative statements on their Facebook pages. They are Anti-Choice, Anti-Gay Rights, Anti-Civil Rights. This builds upon Calvin hiring an army of Rockhurst-types who are all strong social conservatives. Cathy Jolly is a social conservative with the exception of Women's employment. I keep hearing that Sanders wants reelected to County Exec one more time, but he will leave the Democrat party next year and run against Cleaver for the US House three years from now. Sanders can beat Cleaver in a general election as a Republican and he is loading up his office with Republicans. He can win in the new district lines that Cleaver got talked into by Lacy Clay in St. Louis. The lines help Clay but endangered Cleaver even before he got hammered the loan default. Sanders will run as the Republican and stress that he will be in the congressional majority to raise funds from business groups. I am sure all of this makes Crystal mad as Hell.
ReplyDeleteThe party switch angle is the only reason why Sanders would pick a woman for a high profile job who is a member of "Freedom Lovers" which was organized by Freedom Works, a corporate funded lobbying group which opposes health, safety, environmental regulation. Freedom works is also rock solid against the collective bargaining.

Now Sanders has made two very hateful armed camps. Everyone just plays power games. Nothing gets done beyond setting off stink bombs in the other camp.
Calvin Williford has one camp and Cathy Jolley has the other camp. Neither side does a damn thing for the public. Both sides keep setting up traps for the other side or concentrate their own power. Nothing gets done. Time and money are being wasted everyday.
It is true that Jolley does not show up for work very much - but neither does Sanders. They both make a lot of noise about spending time with their kids but I think they just sit around the house a lot. Even if they do spend time with their kids, they are both being paid by taxpayers a full time salary and so they should show up at the Courthouse full time.
I know this is a really stupid question, but aren't ANY of these people at least a little interested in how the county government actually serves the residents who pay their salaries?

Samders has never achieved anything in the realm of public policy, but he has sold the powerbrokers in this town that he is a super-manager. The current disarray in the office shows that he is not a manager. Pretty soon, it will become clear to the business community that Sanders fucked up in managing the county staff.

"Dutch's Daughter" (Michele Newman) should be worried enough about keeping her own job rather than who she can get fired. The woman is unemployable outside of political jobs. In addition, she has never paid the price for spending all that tax money on a pink office décor. Dutch's Daughter had better just lay low.
