TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! ACCELERATED $600K ORDINANCE FOR BURNS AND MAC MEANS WE'LL PROBABLY BUILD THE NEW KANSAS CITY AIRPORT!!!
This morning all of the "hard" Kansas City newsies are going to be waiting around for a verdict from Mayor Sly's Kansas City Airport Advisory Committee.
Nobody is gonna talk about the recent ethics inquiry but that's mostly because keeping track of conflicts is like a bad joke in this town.
Now, we realize these pressers are mostly an exercise in double speak and optimism but we stumbled upon a hint of how this thing will eventually turn out during our TOP ECHELON research.
To wit . . .
KANSAS CITY COUNCIL IS MAKING A QUICK AND "ACCELERATED" CASH ADVANCE TO BURNS & MAC SO WE'RE GUESSING THAT THE NEW AIRPORT IS PRETTY MUCH A DONE DEAL!!!
Proof:
Ordinance #140350: Authorizing a $600,000.00 plus contingency Amendment No. 5 with Burns and McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc. for the Aviation Facilities Development at KCI Airport; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.
TKC Brief Aside. . . The "accelerated effective date" used to be called an "Emergency" Ordinance but Mayor Sly and Council got tired of getting called on it by this blog and nobody else in KCMO.
Again, we expect the d-bags @ Global Prairie to play some pretty good word games this morning but this committee from Mayor Sly has seemed mostly rigged and just about everybody is ready to write-off critics who actually (gasp!) want voters to have say.
The word will come down later and we'll get around to blogging it but, in the end, now that we've seen "accelerated" cash on the way to a Kansas City engineering power player for the Airport. We pretty much know how this thing is going to play out. The presser is @ 10 and the Biz Journal has a nice look at the convoluted questions the group will approve one way or another.
Update... TKC FIRST NEWS...TOLD YOU SO...PHONY KANSAS CITY AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS NEW SINGLE TERMINAL KCI!!!
Developing . . .
Sly is destroying KC's democracy.
ReplyDeleteWrong, low voter turnout is destroying KC's Democracy.
ReplyDeleteThat fucking asshole is doing as he pleases and spending money like it grows on trees. Who does he think he is, the Dictator Criminal Obama?
ReplyDeleteIt's about time to water the tree of liberty.
Great. We're gonna have a $1 billion (or more) under-used and under-served hick airport where you can only catch a direct flight to Cleveland, Newark and East Bumfuck, Iowa. A world-class bus station, in other words. Hey, we're loaded with dough. We can afford it.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Sly and the rolling council promise to put the airport issue to a vote of the people? Me bad, democrats and keeping promises don't match.
ReplyDeleteBurns and Mac huh? Talk about an incestuous relationship....kcmo and b&m.
ReplyDeleteJust like O'bummer, these criminals don't give two shits what us lowly citizens (subjects) think or want. Again, this is criminal!!!
ReplyDeleteOmg youre an idiot
ReplyDeleteBuild it and they will come.
ReplyDeleteOnly thing missing is Smith Bros cough drop bearded, smug transients protesting in front of City Hall offices to have wi-fi installed at every single stop along the toy train starter route so their social media lives won't be uninterrupted during their 36 month CK gentrification play dates.
ReplyDeleteKcmo makes me sick to my stomach so often.
ReplyDeletenews release is out - new airport single terminal is recommended. Your late!
ReplyDeleteok. you're not late. your update appeared as I typed my comment :)
ReplyDeleteDid Caleb and Juniper recommend the new toy terminal?
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to hear what sort of spin Sly and the "visionaries" of KCMO put on the matter when the city is filing bankruptcy soon.
ReplyDeleteBlacks have a tendency to be spendthrifts anyway (i.e. let the utilities get shut off in order to afford the Escalade payment), and it seems they're no different in office.
What is good for Burns and McDonnell is good for Kansas City and don't you peasants forget that. This is also good for the Kemper family banks. Now you peasants be good and go back to your big screen HD televisions, smoke your weed and drink cheap beer and leave the running of this city to people who know better and if any of you stupid rubes criticize Mayor James, then you are racists too. Ha, ha that is why we bank rolled him.
ReplyDeleteKCMO has got to be the stupidest place in America. What wouldn't people and businesses want to flee to Johnson County to escape this madness?
ReplyDeleteThe "powers that be" are gonna build a new airport no matter what the people, travellers and the airlines think.
The "powers that be" are gonna build a streetcar for the convenience of whores on Independence Ave. no matter what the people think.
Hey, it's all about that "free" money from Washington, D.C., anyway.
No! Who would have ever guessed it!
ReplyDeleteNow let's watch City Propaganda take the spin to the next level.
"Mayor Sly, prudently showed restraint and responded. Being I am smart, unlike the dumb asses I personally appoint to my task forces and advisory committees, I hereby will use my superior intelligence and intellect to make a personal decision as to whether this project is is a good deal. Something the tourists can be proud of and of course our world class city".
Clusterfuck Kansascity
ReplyDeleteCK
Total Waste of Money. The old airport is fine. Your Welcome JE Dunn.
ReplyDeleteIt will cost the equivalent of the space program and the airlines don't want it, but, hey, there will be more fast food and I'll be able to buy overpriced sunglasses!
ReplyDeleteHow would you explain kcmo's public schools to people from out of town?
ReplyDeleteKC is a world class city....THIRD world class.
ReplyDeleteThe entire process is wrong. Lack of transparency. The airlines promise higher fees. The people voiced their concern as much as they could but the meetings were very late notice and odd times (ex 7:30 am) yesterday it broke that most of the committee has a conflict of interest with huge personal gain for one terminal. It sure feels like big brother pushing against the voices of the actual residents who want upgrades but enjoy the convenience of our current layout. Please call the Mayors office if you agree with me, it probably won't help but I still would love him to get calls.816-513-3500.

ReplyDeleteWould somebody please assassinate that nigger fuck that's screwing the citizens of Kansas City????? Oh, and any other thieving politicians and news media shitheels too!
ReplyDeleteEasy there trigger
ReplyDeleteGreat, now traffic will be fucked up at the airport for the next ten years!. But we got spirit, we got spirit, ra ra boom...what a fuckin waste of taxpayers money.
ReplyDeleteCrony Kansascity
ReplyDeleteCK
KCMO has got to be the stupidest place in America. What wouldn't people and businesses want to flee to Johnson County to escape this madness?
ReplyDeleteI think most have. What we have left here in CKMO is apparently the most dumbed down populace around.
I can't come up with any other explanation for it other then the best and brightest have already left. All that's left now is the final exodus of people who still a functioning brain.
Nobody "wants" to go to joco. That's why they have to pay businesses to relocate there and prop up all their residential development with subsidies.
ReplyDeleteJoco wouldn't exist without kc. It would be Salina. Even the kcmo suburban neighborhoods are growing faster than joco, and have been for a decade and a half.
Try again suburban troll.
I officially give up on KCMO. It's just not worth all this bullshit day in and day out. Let it go to hell.
ReplyDeleteLet Lies Sleeze and Cronysim Rule Within These Walls
ReplyDeleteBurns and Mac are like the old Soviet Central Committee. Except they outsource the hate East of Troost.
ReplyDeleteWhen we going to start hearing about important things like say going underground with our above ground power grid and things like that? Streetcars are NOT FUCKING IMPORTANT. And our airport is perfectly FINE with the exception of deferred maintenance. People are not going to come for the FUCKING AIRPORT.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone here actually read the fact sheet for Ordinance 140350?!?! It's for repairs and maintenance for both KCI and Wheeler. It also includes a planning study for new AOA gates. That's it. It has nothing to do with a new airport! Holy shit, do yourselves a favor and read the fine print.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the ordinance we are concerned about it's Sly and his choice of airport experts.
ReplyDeleteLet Lies Sleeze and Cronysim Rule Within These Walls
This what happens when you let the coloreds in politics and give them power. You can't give a nigger political power or a piece of machinery without them going crazy. I remember a song when I was a boy in the South and it goes like this:
ReplyDeleteSome folks say a nigger won't steal
I caught a couple in my cotton field
One had a shovel and the other had a hoe (the tool people)
If that ain't stealing then I don't know
How bout putting some fresh pavement on one freaking street?
ReplyDeleteI'll take that question 2:40. Fresh pavement is not necessary the streets in Mission Hills are fine. We may run your city but we sure as hell don't fucking live there. Now be a good peasant and go watch ESPN on that new television, have another Bud, its on sale, and I have instructed the politicians I own to vote yes to pot legalization so people like you will leave politics to us, your betters.
ReplyDelete1:49: And Mensa boy weighs in again with opinions stated as facts.
ReplyDeletehahahahahahha!!!!
ReplyDeletelookit!!!
I sed ck not k and c in that order, but in a diffrint order.
hahahaha
i made a funnnayyy!
6:14, internet lawyer GED boy weighs in again with low information, high volume stupidity.
ReplyDeleteYour really have to wonder $40 if 1:49 has ever been north of the river, or if he knows that that part of town in KCMO too.
ReplyDeleteThat's where the KCMOP population growth has been taking place and the city, your wonderful KCMO, just last year issued $40 million in bonds to exend sewer and water lines into pastureland to encourage suburban development that they said would support another 70,000.
So you may think that all the badmouthing about "suburbanites" pertains to JoCo, Lee's Summit, and other communities. When in fact, KCMO north of the river, which much more closely resembles Overland Park than Brookside, is the only serious success story of KCMO.
So when you brag about the "huge" percentage of population growth downtown, please don't forget that it started from about zeero and has now risen to the stratospheric heights of 10,000 out of a metro population of 2.4 million.
Rounding error.
6.27 your shit sucks...fucking faggot....stfu
ReplyDeleteKiller City is widely recognized as a politically backward place.
ReplyDeleteThat's why, even though Boss Pendergast has been dead for decades, Killer City is not considered competent to run its own police department.
Evidently it's not competent to run its own airport, either.
