TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY COP BLOCK CO-FOUNDER STEPS UP TO HELP WOMAN AFTER DEADLY KCK SHOOTING!!!
This blog is all about challenging local stereotypes and preconceptions.
To wit . . . Let's look at some of the deets of a recent deadly shooting in KCK.
Fun fact . . . One of the first people who helped out at the scene was Janel, she's the co-founder at KCK Cop Block and co-founder at MO/KS Cop Block
CHECK AND SEE THIS COP BLOCK ACTIVIST HELPING A WOMAN INJURED IN THE AFTERMATH OF A SHOOTING THIS MORNING!!!
Here's what she wrote:
"Just saw a man shoot his wife then himself right in front of his little girl. When I ran to the woman she was still alive. Please pray! I'm talking to detectives now... This. Is. Horrifying."
The mainstream story: Woman shot in KCK church lot, shooter dead
More comments from Janel . . .
"Yes, people stopped their cars...to watch. People were there...staying on the other side of the road. To watch. They were visibly upset, but no one bothered to go see how those people were, check on her, wait with her until the ambulance got there! Not unless there were people thronging around me that were completely invisible! Why would they make it seem like some community love fest where people tried to help?!?!?! Angers me..."
Again this bit of testimony is important because it demonstrates that local activists are doing more than just raising awareness for their cause but they're also out there on the front lines stepping up and helping people when nobody else will.
Developing . . .
Update . . . Unfortunately the lady in this story died later in the hospital: Friends, family gather to remember mom killed in murder-suicide
