TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! CONTROVERSY: KCPD SHIFTING RESOURCES TO COVER LOST KANSAS CITY RED LIGHT CAMERA REVENUE!!!
Recently, we were talking about KCPD changing up their tactics. Now, there's word about a CONTROVERSIAL upcoming switcheroo that might be of interest to everyone in this town interested in law enforcement priorities and City Hall cash.
To wit . . .
KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS DESCRIBE A CONTROVERSIAL KCPD STAFFING MOVE THAT WILL TRANSFER OFFICERS TO WRITE MORE TICKETS IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE UP LOST RED LIGHT CAMERA REVENUE!!!
If there was rage over insights about a police contact quota . . . This might be worse . . .
Here's the word from KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS . . .
"Just read your post about field officers having to make traffic stops. There's more . . . On May 1st 19 officers are being transferred to the traffic unit in order to write more tickets to make for the lost revenue from red light cameras and field officers not writing tickets.
These officers will come from the field. So to help with that shortage the police officers assigned to court will go back to the field and their old assignment becomes an off duty job. Also, police academy instructors will have to work the field in between academy classes."
It's easy to throw around blame but most of the rage should be focused directly @ City Hall politicos who have made red light cameras a civic priority.
Red light cameras are currently down thanks to the MISSOURI SUPREME COURT and the world hasn't come to an end . . . Sadly, what really upsets people is the idea of politicos using law enforcement as a fee collection service instead of focusing on public safety - Most rank and file officers tend to agree with that sentiment. Accordingly, this is another example of why KANSAS CITY SHOULD FEAR CITY HALL CONTROL of the police by our inherently corrupt local elected officials.
In the end, the best advice we can offer right now is to drive carefully and avoid getting involved in this political debate that seemingly uses Kansas City public safety resources to target taxpayers.
Developing . . .
NOBODY should want Cindy Circo in charge of the police.
ReplyDeleteWait? The police are supposed to do police work?
ReplyDeleteThis isn't about police doing police work, this is about city hall wanting police to focus more on enforcing traffic laws and writing tickets than on violent crime, ect.
DeleteTourist traps is standard police work.
ReplyDeleteThe bureaucracy MUST be fed!
ReplyDeleteWe MUST continue to GROW!
Our budget MUST expand!
This organism is programmed to self-replicate.
We will destroy all enemies.
You are the parasite, and we are the exterminator.
More police vehicle stops = more police shootings. Nothing like an angry cop told to do more work.
ReplyDeleteRevenues might be easier for this cow town to come by if there was less crime. We are fast becoming nothing but a speed trap on the drive from Minneapolis to Dallas.
ReplyDeleteA big shout out to the tipster to Tony. The info is 110% accurate.
ReplyDeletesigned,
a KCPD 10-81
On the subject of red light cams... It appears McManus and Torpey are on ATS's payroll now.
ReplyDeleteYawn. Another day, yet another good reason to stay the hell out of Killer City. Why would anybody in their right mind go there? If the gangbangers don't get you, the cops will. Especially now that it is official city policy to focus police work more on squeezing revenue out of solid citizens and less on busting scumbags.
ReplyDeletewhy not privatize the police if all they a profit making company now? :( money grubbin has no place in law enforcemnt
ReplyDeleteMore police, no streetcars.
ReplyDeleteKC police are horrible. They're all corrupt and incompetent.
ReplyDeleteHey folks- a large majority dont like writing traffic tickets. It is only required if you are in the traffic unit, however now the rules have changed because of money woes.
ReplyDeleteDont be a hater if you get a ticket from a patrol (non-traffic) cop in KCMO.
Welcome to KC. Where you're not so much a citizen as a mark, a target to be taxed, harassed and fined into submission.
ReplyDeleteYou people need to get a grip. The lazy officers on here complaining because they have to do SOMETHING instead of sitting on their asses all night need to shut the fuck and get to work. If you want to be a worthless lazy fuck, start your own business and reap the rewards of your own efforts. As long as you're on someone else's dime, get back to work.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness there is enough money available for a streetcar..
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely correct. The city monitors how much revenue is brought in by traffic tickets. If it drops the PD better bring the numbers back up or there will be financial repercussions from city hall. Example, if a police commander devised a program to reduce accidents/fatalities by focusing on hazardous intersections, that's great...as long as the ticket count doesn't drop. This is serious business for the city. Their focus is on the money brought in and nothing else.
ReplyDeletenothing to see here, move along
ReplyDelete4:38 la kcpd nostra
ReplyDeleteProtect and Serve? Oh, wait......Bring in more money. Now I see. The City needs more money so lets do what we can to drain citizens pockets even more. Get ready for every traffic stop to escalate to a "I smell alcohol or marijuana" and planting of things to get the most bang for the buck.
ReplyDeleteThis KC needs real leadership. Not mayors and officials who are more concerned with image. That kind of backward mentality will lead us to burn.
ReplyDelete5:01
ReplyDeleteHere's a little cheat sheet for ya since you know so much about police work... Most of the officers ARE doing real police work. But guess what? When your fat ass is in bed sleeping, that's when they do it. Since you are so very smart, you should read the article again. It is NOT a plan to get lazy cops to work harder you bonehead, it's a plan to increase city revenue by forcing every single patrol officer to stop 3 cars/ppl a day/night and issue a hazardous moving violation citation per shift. News flash 5:01, the truly lazy cops can have that accomplished within an hour of the beginning of there shift, leaving 9 more hours to be lazy, ON YOUR DIME! Poor leadership and mismanaged funds in this city have destroyed this police department and the city. Just FYI 5:01, I hope you are one of the recipients of this revenue grab while your house is being burglarized while the patrol officers are enforcing petty traffic laws on tax payers by the thousands. Enjoy.
The post by 5:01 is obviously a commander within the department who sits behind his desk surfing the internet 3/4 out of the day and utilizing his family take home car to meet his mistress with the child seat in the back (sound familiar?). That's a hard worker. I for one dumbass, am a 20+ year veteran, college educated and have no desire to be slug by getting promoted. I come to work everyday and bust my ass. So don't whine about people being lazy, when you in fact collect a check by just sitting at your desk signing paperwork, making recommendations to better your so called career and telling people that your a cop when in fact you probably forgot what it's actually like to face danger on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteSo for your comments you made, I say go FUCK YOURSELF!!!
WOW, I just wrote the comment at 5:57 and I must say that the one posted at 5:49 is "RIGHT ON"!!! Awesome comment my brother!!!
ReplyDeleteVery encouraged by the cops in KCMO who want to do some police work and are pissed off about it! THAT is our only hope against the murder rate.
ReplyDelete5:49 and 5:49, good riddance
ReplyDeleteThe only hope for KC is the Hipsters. If they bail the city is history. Everyone else has or is leaving. Last one out, turn off the lights.
ReplyDeleteDo whaaa?
ReplyDeleteDont be a hater>>>> poster @ 6:50
ReplyDeleteNo red light cameras and more ununwanted unsolicited bulk junk mail.
ReplyDeletestand together my brothers. they can't put us all on dogwatch
ReplyDeleteA lot of crimes are solved by traffic stops. Timothy McVeigh, remember him? Traffic stop.
ReplyDeleteCriminals drive cars perhaps they can make some busts after they pulled them over and find out they are low rent thieves or drug peddlers. Also people might obey the traffic laws more when they see their fellow man getting pulled over more often.
ReplyDeleteWon't happen 10:04. Dopers, Dope dealers, tweakers, ghetto gangsta's, they ain't that smart. You would be surprised how many arrests are made from vehicle stops. To the folk posting at 2049hrs, " STAND TOGEHTER MY BROTHERS. THEY CAN'T PUT US ALL ON DOGWATCH", that is the absolute truth. The rumor floating around us "pea-on's" is to take everybody to jail even if you have so much a parking ticket. Get that BLACK OUT time a movin! You citizens know its gettin to be warm weather soon. I'm sure you would want as many cops as possible on the ghetto streets of KCMO, right? Well us low level employees who do a large majority of the work in patrol that the command staff always likes to jack with (unlike the investigative elements)have another thing coming. Just you wait................
ReplyDeleteWhere in the hell is the KCFOP on this issue? Since our new President of the KCPOA took over, I'm not impressed. Only reason I keep paying my dues is for the legal aspect. KCFOP hasn't done jack! Topped out Officers haven't got shit in years, however the FOP allows the Command Staff to rake in an unbelievable amount of money. The FOP president is very good friends with numerous KCPD commanders. Let's dig deeper into that TKC.
ReplyDeleteDidn't the FOP P say he was resigning a couple years ago when he was the VP, around the same time the COP said he was promoting his own people. It's funny how that fell through and the all of a sudden the VP decided to stay. I'm just saying.
ReplyDeleteAnother good reason to stay North of the river.
ReplyDeleteYes it's much better up North where Platte County and MSHP never stop you. Righttttt.
ReplyDeleteIf I have to write a hazardous moving violation everyday I'm going to tell that unfortunate citizen that it's nothing personal and if they have a complaint go to the Board Of Police Commissioners and complain. I'm just doing my job.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I told them the same thing. I actually said we had a new quota system. Ooops, it's not a quota system its called "Goals".
ReplyDeleteDon't speed, don't run red lights or stop signs. Follow the law and it won't be an issue.
ReplyDeleteCindy Circo owned a fucking HAIR SALON. A FUCKING HAIR SALON!!!!!!!!! WTF makes her thing she's capable of running a fucking city?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteIf you are apologizing for doing your job and encouraging people to make a complaint after they have committed a valid violation, you need to start looking in the mirror as to why you are a cop. Most hard working cops I know already make these goals as part of doing their daily job.
