Regarding Kansas City Water Bond campaign lit that we discussed earlier today . . .
"The Mayor has 2 pictures of himself on this flyer, it has been a long time since a Mayor has put themselves on campaign literature for a tax hike. It seems every single thing that comes through the Mayor’s office is all about the Mayor, he has zero confidence in any other person in this city. Same with the Convention, he is all about himself. In all my years of living in KC and that is over 50 I have never seen such arrogance which overshadows the betterment of the city."
We also hear that he's something of a bully . . .
These guys are like a bunch of gambling addicts.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone else been looking into moving to another city? There has to be something better out there.
ReplyDeleteThis city just plain sucks. Too bad, it used to be so lovely...
ReplyDeleteCK's race to the bottom. It's obvious where things are heading.
ReplyDeleteMany of his Pavlovian specimens will vote yes no doubt.
ReplyDeleteKC = Detroit
ReplyDeleteSly james is nauseating. What a great reason not to vote for the water bond issue - he wants it.
ReplyDeleteDont really have a choice do we? I heard there are water mains well over 100 years old still being used.
ReplyDelete100 years old and failing. More bonds = more bond fees to share. Water or toy trains? What has happened to America?
ReplyDeleteHe is a bully. That's a fact. Ask him to answer questions about East Patrol.
ReplyDeleteThe oldest adage in politics:
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat something with nothing.
You're stuck with Sly for another 4 1/2 years.
Hope the monehy doesn't run out.
Crime, water, schools, THEN toy train, THEN the airport.
ReplyDeleteIn that order please.
y'all hate it so much, move
ReplyDeleteThe citizens need to vote NO and force the city government to stop pissing money in every other direction and start paying attention to basic infrastructure. This is the real Toy Train vote and folks need to stand their ground and send a message that they are damn tired of the spend and tax local government.
ReplyDeleteIf you are not scared yet, this should do it

A ribbon-cutting was held today for the McAnany, Van Cleave and Phillips law offices, 10 E. Cambridge Circle Drive, Kansas City, Kan. At the event were, left to right, former mayor Joe Reardon, Kansas City, Mo., Mayor Sly James, and Unified Government Mayor Mark Holland.
Dignitaries from both Kansas and Missouri were on hand at the event.
This law firm is one of the largest in the Kansas City metropolitan area, handling a lot of legal work for both Kansas City, Kan., and Kansas City, Mo.
....hang on to your wallets KC.
This jerk is as much in love with himself as that fucking Glazer.
ReplyDelete905 is kind of right.
ReplyDeleteThis site has become a place to:
Complain about everything
Disrespect females
Race Bait
There is something to be said to constructive change. This site is pretty much a joke in City Hall based upon hearsay comments.
9:05 PM
ReplyDeleteThis from the person who owns nothing. It's easy to say move when you have nothing invested here and you're lined up with questionable people. Reveal yourself evil sorcerer.
9:28pm = Pat Klein Get a life, dude.
ReplyDeleteHearsay is an out of court statement made to prove the truth of the matter asserted. What dumb City employee thinks that opinions ought to be brought in a court of law rather than in a blog setting. People want to be internet lawyers so bad. If you just paid attention half the lawyers who are lawyers don't want to be lawyers, like Sly James, for example. The truth is that practicing law is dull and requires so much reading that you hardly have any social life. That's why lawyers like hanging around other lawyers, nobody will judge them for their innate inability to fit in socially with everybody else. The job market for lawyers is at an all time low. Most don't know how to be a lawyer and the ones who find out want out very quickly.
ReplyDelete9:35 is this why most lawyers are drunks?
ReplyDeleteIn hindsight to do it over again I wouldn't have bought a house in Kansas City. The city keeps adding more taxes its never going to end.
ReplyDeleteSly is a crooked Lawyer. SMACK!!!
ReplyDeleteHe went north to spit shit, why didn't he give his speech on the plaza? Or just south, east, etc.
He is a crook and I dare him to tell us why his "kids" don't behave.
Come on mayor...
Sad to say, I agree with 10:01. I love my neighborhood and my neighbors, but I'd go with JOCO if I had it to do over again.
ReplyDelete9:35 They want out quickly so they can go into politics.
ReplyDeleteLazy assholes with a law degree = corrupt lazy bureaucrats.
What I don't understand is if the city is so hard up for money for improvements why have I now recieved 3 seperate mailings on glossy stock that probably are not cheap to print and mail. Seem like this money would be better spent on the issue at hand instead of reminding me that my water sucks and my mayor looks like Magilla Gorilla.
ReplyDeleteBonds aren't taxes, kiddos.
ReplyDeleteWhen you're out of your 20s you need to learn some elementary level civics...
So where does the interest come from, 4:17? And how about the redeeming the bonds when they come due? Ex nihilo?
ReplyDelete4:17. Bonds aren't free money. Something has to pay the principal and interest. When they tell you there is no tax increase, something else will get cut.
