We were first introduced to Kansas City 3rd District At-Large Council Candidate Steve Gordon when we reported that his campaign would focus on controlling violent teen flash mobs on the Country Club Plaza.

Here is the message we received . . .
"This is Stephan Gordon, proposed candidate for City Council 3rd District At-Large. I noted in your power ranking that you rank Crispin Rea as the most powerful candidate. I am curious as to how you came to that conclusion. Mr. Rea is a nice young man and he has never held a real job, nor is he proposing any solutions to the problems facing the City. I realize that he is a member of the school board, but possesses no other real job experience."
We're about a year out from the vote on this one but this missive confirms our contention that the 3rd District At-Large race is going to be one of Kansas City's most important and maybe the most contentious.

ReplyDeleteRea's major claim to fame as the vice-chair of an unaccreditated school district was to approve a $34 million no-bid contract that was awarded to the same person who wrote the bid and then formed a new company to take the money. Real steely-eyed management and business acumen there!

Never happened.
Poor judgment, bad decisions with the public's money, not following through on public promises, no real world experience.

I'm a neighborhood member in the 3rd and I keep asking people about this Rev. but nobody knows him. Anybody know what church he is at? Also kinda confirms the whole "leading the race thing" if Gordon feels so insecure that he has to take the first shot. Somebody please tell me who this guy is and where he came from.

Harry Balz: Rev. Gordon, in your press release announcing your candidacy, you focused entirely on the recent Plaza disturbances as your mission, why so?
Rev. Gordon: Praise the Lord for Harry Balz! Thanks for your invitation to participate here tonight. I focused on the Plaza ruckus because I have the answer to this problem. The Almighty has revealed to me, His humble servant, that we need to get these young people causing problems out of the Plaza and into the pews. Hallelujah! Can I get an Amen?
Harry Balz: Rev. Gordon, do you believe in corporal punishment?
Rev. Gordon: Harry, I don't care who dishes out the discipline, it could be a general, a lieutenant, a sergeant, it doesn't matter who does it, it just needs to be done to get these young folks in line with the Lord's plan!
Harry Balz: WHAC-A-MOLE!! Ok....I think that's probably enough from you for now. Let's move on to Mr. Rea.
Mr. Rea, you're currently a law student and member of the unaccredited KCPS Board, why run for City Council before you have any real-world work experience?
Crispin Rea: Thank you for this invitation, and I would like to think that after tonight's discussion, Harry Balz may open us to new possibilities as we brush aside the old wood hanging over our heads.
As for my candidacy, I seek to partner with all 3rd District stakeholders to realize an all-inclusive neighborhood whereby LGBTQIA individuals are henceforth provided with equal rights and opportunities.
Harry Balz: And what is your position on the recent Michael Sam controversy?
Crispin Rea: My position is that of a firm bottom. I have examined the legal facts of the case, set the briefs aside, and allowed myself to go into receivership of his considerable load.
Harry Balz: WHAC-A-MOLE!!! And that's enough from you as well.
Ladies and gentleman, at this time I am ruling both of these candidates to be unfit for office, and am appealing to all interested residents of the 3rd District to please...PLEASE...come forward at this time to provide an alternative to these two WHACS.

Crispin Rea is still wet behind the ears.
He was like a little boy when he was in the employ of Gloria Squitiro. That crazy lady got Crispin to REALLY GET ON THE FLOOR AND BEG LIKE A DOG FOR freebie SPRINT CENTER TICKETS. That young fool embarrassed himself. He did nothing regarding Frances Semler, he told lies regarding the EEOC lawsuit.
Damn fool now wants to be 1 of 13 votes for real issues on City Council? He doesn't have the backbone nor the background to be considered a viable councilmember. Just who is pushing him? They want to buy a vote on council.

2:24 PM Real candidates are intimidated, stalked and harassed. The confused voters in the 3rd District are cannibals. I read a post on facebook where the Black community had all but abandoned their children and left them to fend for themselves. Anybody in the 3rd District left with an ounce of hope of change has already moved out of the 3rd District. They know well that there is no future there.... just hangers-on. It's tragic.
