I am Rev. Stephan "Steve" Gordon, Candidate for City Council 3rd District at Large. I am running for Kansas City, City Council because l have ‘the solution to the problems on the Plaza.
The Plaza is a ticking time bomb and it is time that we pull the plug on this bomb before it explodes. Chief Forte, has said that he is going to enforce the "LAW" and he is right. I support him on that. I believe that he would agree with me that his department's time would be better spent solving crimes such as murders than to be in a confrontation with our youth.
The Plaza is not for the youth to hang out in, it is a business district. But the businesses cannot make money with the mess that we have seen at the Plaza.
We need to get our youth off the Plaza and provide a positive outlet for their energy and talents in their own community. We need te make better use of the resources already in our communities. To mention a few, we have the Gem Theater, Community Centers, and the Oìlle Gates project at 191h Paseo, this YMCA will be part of the answer. The possibilities of programs at the before mentioned facilities is limitless . . ."

Rev., if your only purpose of running for the third district is to clean up the plaza, save your efforts. There are other issues at hand with this job. Besides sir, I think you're missing the big picture. The youth that are creating all this mess at the plaza are not talented. They are distructive thugs that are lacking parental supervision. Before you go throwing money around to find things for these meances to do, let's look at other options for them, like finding a job. When I was their age, I was working at Taco Bell and washing dishes at Red Lobster. These people obviously have too much time on their hands and probably would fail miserably with becoming employed since they have no respect for rules and authority. The most sensible solution is to arrest them. Put them in a juvenile detention center or jail and start fining them and their parents. Quit holding their hands! Quit using the police as a baby sitter!

Upon doing a search, we have difficulty finding any listings for a Kansas City Rev. Steve Gordon, and his phone number links to a T-Mobile account in Blue Springs! At this time dear reader we're wondering if Rev. Gordon is a ruse. After all, his announcement appearing less than 24 hours following Mr. Rea's was suspicious!
Let's resume. "The Plaza is not for youth to hang out in.." Oh dear, there he goes again! We've now quickly exhausted our patience with this person's lack of communication skills, and he seems to be fixated on the Plaza nonetheless. Perhaps instead of running for the City Council he could provide security services to the Plaza Merchants Association, when not in remedial English class.
In summary, we find this candidate, if he is real, to be wholly lacking in the skills necessary to adequately serve the fine citizens of Kansas City.
We await Friday's appearance of yet another candidate's announcement! Until then, dear reader...

Now, for the most part, these buildings sit empty and unused by the greater community; partly because of the people who run the facilities and partly because of the crowd it does draw.
