Jackson County Legislator Fred Arbanas is reportedly giving up his second career after 40 years in office according to multiple inside sources.
The former Kansas City Chiefs legend is calling it a career @ 75 in a deal that allows him to exit office on his own terms. Word is . . . In a rare act of kindess overall, his old assistant will stay on . . .
This clears the way for Tony Miller who made an impressive behind the scenes splash by earning an EPIC $150K contribution that made everybody at the Courthouse take him seriously.
TKC doesn't really get into all the ring kissing that will accompany the departure of Legislator Arbanas . . .
However . . . He he generally seems like a good guy, he helped out his political friends by sticking around one extra term to make 40 years and keeping former City Council dude Terry Riley out of office . . . AND I hear the golf course named after him is nice.
This development has broader implications for the upcoming JaxCo legislature but for now we're content to bring news of this significant change in the Courthouse political scene before Dead Tree Media has time to write their flowery tribute.
better title: O'Riley's revenge!
ReplyDeleteFred Arbanas--a finer guy you will never meet.
ReplyDeleteThe headline suggests one is to make something seem or sound important when it really isn't.
ReplyDeleteWould someone please list the accomplishments of the Jackson County Legislature since he's been in office?
ReplyDeleteProbably a single tweet will do.
Fred is a good man, too good for this crew coming up
ReplyDeletethe last of honest members
ReplyDeleteBut he cost the citizens of Jackson County $1,000,000 because he refused to stand up to the Civic Council and instead voted to place their idiotic proposal on the ballot. Nice legacy.
ReplyDeleteGive it a rest. Don't be a bad winner.
ReplyDeleteI will give it a rest when the Civic Council reimburses Jackson County the $1,000,000 and apologizes for wasting our time.
ReplyDeleteIt's a valid point but misses the point of a 40 year career that's more important than nobodies on the Internet.
ReplyDeleteFred, thanks for a job well done. You will be missed.
ReplyDeleteHe hasn't ran for anything. He just smiles and the fans know what to do.
ReplyDeleteWe should rename the golf course the Martin Luther King Memorial Golf Course
ReplyDeleteTesting ...
